We had a great stay at Lafala Hotel. Its 3km south of the City center, its close to the ocean and the next beach is just 500m south. Plenty of supermarkets and shops around, it was a good location to start our Sri Lanka trip. The breakfast was good, the room was big, the bed comfortable. Staff was friendly and helped us with sightseeing and train questions. I already booked again for the last day of our trip when we come back to Colombo.

We booked the Invincible Ocean View Room. As soon as we entered the door, we had two glasses of welcome juice, which was sweet and very homey for the hot and stuffy guests. Our room is on the 9th floor, the curtains are opened, and the endless sea can be seen. The seaside train track is also downstairs. From time to time, you can see the legendary Sri Lankan train slowly moving along the beach.

I saw the hotel that the website said that there are children's entertainment facilities, I was still thinking, I've been there a few times, but I didn't find any children's entertainment facilities, it really isn't! This point should modify the web page introduction. The hotel has a good view, the beach is clean and flat, and the service is excellent. A very tasteful hotel, full of British colonial style, is worth a try.

I contacted the hotel to make a confirmation for my brother-in-law's anniversary dinner and was connected to Chamath Gamage, who supported me with a positive attitude & extended to help me out with the reservation since it was a special occasion at the hotel too where seating is limited. Thus being so Chamath reached out to Mr.Denver to seek advise. Within a span of 30 minutes Chamath called me back & confirmed informing me that the reservation is successful & the hotel could have my brother-in-law & his wife to enjoy their anniversary evening at the hotel that evening. I am grateful for Chamath for making the service matter along with a supportive team who was able to facilitate our request midst the special occasion. I wish Chamath & Mr.Denver Good luck in all endeavors to carry out the positive service mindset to all customers they meet.

The room is clean and specious for 3 of us and the lacking only no toothbrush provided, only 2 towels instead we paid for 3 persons. Breakfast was ok only the noodles is not properly cooked as it is still hard to chewed😅. (Still room for improvement) The main highlights was the service we received from the bellboy Mangala. He is very helpful, approachable and always smiling. Others then that it is easy to get the public transportation i.e. tuk tuk and car. Definitely we will be coming back again. Thank you

I went there thinking it was a historic hotel, but I was disappointed from the lobby. The lobby was very hot and the room was full of old and broken items. The hotel corridor was dark and the floor creaked when I walked on it, so I was afraid that a monster would come out. And because there were few guests, the dinner buffet was not operated. The dinner menu was expensive and tasteless. Fortunately, breakfast was a buffet, so I was happy. However, the omelet was too salty and burned. I really hate that kind of food. This hotel does not do what customers order. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. In order to increase cost-effectiveness, it seems that the price of the hotel should be lowered or the interior should be changed to a modern one so that the price is higher. Change is needed anyway. I will never look for this hotel again. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone around me.

OK Folks once upon time this used to be one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. That was decades ago, this is one of the very few Sri lankan government owned hotel today. This is not so luxurious to match a five star, but a pretty good hotel which fits in well for a three star. There are glitches here and there, it's an old building, you might find the hot water not working or a broken switch, pardon that, the hotel is working very hard to fix those with the little financial resources they have. The staff of the hotel are very kind and hard working. If you request them for something, they will not hesitate to try there best to satisfy your needs. The hotel has undergone a renovation recently and working hard to maintain a good menu of food. Again people are good and hard working but with the financial resources they have, there are limitations. Overall its a good 3 star hotel with a decent menu of food and really polite people. Help them by reserving your rooms with this little place which has a big history, the more guest who visit this place, the more money they get, so they can serve you better the next time your arrive. Be kind when making your reviews, try to look through the eyes of good people here who are trying to make your stay the best ever. Let encourage more people to use thus hotel so they can soon start to cater you with five star perfection.

The location of the hotel is I liked the most, it has a greta view from the room, while it has access to the Mall and the nearby office buildings. It makes it so convenient for business. The hotel's location is its prime asset, along with the excellent staff who go out of their way to help your needs. I stayed at this hotel twice during my trip to the Island and on both occasions the team made me feel at home. The hotel is affordable for budget travelers and provides all the basic amenities and offers a very solid Sri Lankan or Continental breakfast. The bathrooms and the bed linens are clean and the rooms are air-conditioned, I did have the occasion to stay in the pricy Cineman Grand and Galleface hotels, however for the price they charge and the helpfulness of the staff. Hotel Sapphire is well worth the stay. I will give it two thumbs up.

Overall the staffs were really helpful and very friendly. I stayed in the apartment 402. It was big and spacious. Bathroom windows needs to be cleaned or renovated. The bathroom was a bit smelly. Also there were stains on the towels that was placed In the room. Every now and then the sitting room ac and the water cooler would make a weird sound. Just a few problems but other than that everything was great. I’ve stayed In this hotel before also and I’d prefer staying here in the future too. It’s a great place to stay with your family & friends. Thank you for giving such a great service ☺️
