Excellent hotel right in the heart of the city. Very convenient location. I stayed there for two nights and I would say my stay was quite pleasant. Sapcious rooms with a large sized double bed. I mean large double bed! The staff is quite polite, helpful and courteous. Specifically the Lobby / Restaurant Manager - Ms Octa. Octa helped me with lot of things right from the breakfast in the morning to get a cup of Hot Latte all the way to guiding me for the evening walkaround. On day I was to leave she suggested to get my breakfast packed as I was to leave early. Thanks much Octa for your kind help and guidance! Hope to see you next time I am in Semarang! The check in / check Out was hassle free. I would highly recommend if this is within your budget. From$69

Grand Candi is an unpretentious hotel catering mainly to Indonesian population. The hotel looks tired, with faded decor and a strong smell of air freshener to disguise the old and scruffy furniture. The room I stayed in was clean and the bed comfortable. The drain in the bathroom overflowed every morning, spreading dirty water across the floor but this was a plumbing issue rather than one of routine maintenance. The food caters to Asian tastes and Westerners would be disappointed if they expected to see familiar options at breakfast. The poolside was horrendous - 3 heavy wooden sun loungers without cushions, one parasol rusted into a concrete stand, an abundance of ants and a 'poolside bar' which amounted to a hole in the wall with no service. Furniture outside was very uncomfortable. Inside was the gym which was basic, to say the least, but both pool and gym tend to be poorly attended so maybe not enough to be worth the cost of refurb. There was an excellent sauna and a spa that offered very good and accommodating massage, although the environment was not very conducive. But shining through all of this like a beacon was the hotel staff. Indonesian people are, by nature, friendly and eager to please and I cannot fault their attempts to make my (2-week) stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble; perhaps it was the novelty of having a Brit in the house, who knows? Fiy An, Augustin and Billy on the concierge desk shuttled me daily to my workplace in the car and back. In the bar, Anastasia and her trainee sidekick (Diane) together with YahYaha and Wayou were particularly delightful, as was Nanik. It was unfortunate that the bar area was almost permanently clouded in cigarette smoke. The Reception staff were fiercely professional and accurate, as well as eager to please. All in all my 2-week stay was made more than tolerable by the wonderful and friendly hotel staff. My room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were perfectly useable, if a little tired. My recommendation would be to have a smoking area in the hotel that did not mean having to wade through acrid smoke to enjoy a drink. It would also save the health of the bar staff who cannot escape.From$36

I forgot to take the photos of my room but it's very much similar as the one on the internet, spacious and functional enough for 2, properly cleaned when we arrive and i love that they have a balcony with super big window so i can get lots of natural light :) the only minus point is that it's not soundproof enough to block the noise from outside but only from other rooms. Friendly staff, quick service and strategic location. i heard that the soto nearby is ”legendary” ;)From$19

We live this place. Front desk staff super friendly. You can tell they are meticulous about COVID protocols - front desk had shields and all the staff wearing proper mask. The room are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included and it was very good breakfast not your typical nasi goreng and omelette! Good job chef! If you truly want to enjoy the scenery get to the rooftop / pool, the pool on the site were big and offerings best view of Semarang Downtown. I highly recommend this hotel!From$31

I've stayed for 2 nights on my staycation in Semarang. Room is clean, tidy and comfy, but there are some spots on the towel. Also the spray jet valve were leaks, so I got to turn it on/off during using it. I like the breakfast menu, quite variative choice and tastes goods. The sky pool was fresh in the morning, but don't forget to applied sun block on your skin. Overall is good for an affordable price.From$19

Good value for money.
I booked 3 rooms. One of the non-smoking room smells like smoke, but the hotel switched it with another room, so problem was resolved pretty quickly.
The hotel has sufficient selection of the ala carte food menu, it was freshly made therefor it tooks sometime.
Great service 10/10 everyone was very friendly and helpful.

We checked in on many Aston hotels and always feel satisfied, but this.. well.. I will straight to the point Plus + location is strategic + room is large (with but...) + breakfast has many variation and delicious ... as expected of Aston hotel + internet speed is quite good Minus - loose heath protocol, many people walk around without mask and no staff care about it - really small in room table (room 1115) , I can barely put my laptop there , i want to change room but they said it's fully booked .. seriously with room this large, it won't do any damage if you provide bigger desk - large room, sofa, but light is really dim, even one of the lamp is broken, mechanic exchange the bulb resulting some debris from roof falling and made the sofa dirty - bathroom is so small and no door for shower area so water will splash here and there - poor TV signal I usually use Aston hotel, I even wrote this in another Aston Hotel (Aston Cirebon which wayyy better than Aston Semarang) .. well I'm aware this is Aston Inn (which should has lower standard) but I didn't expect to be so much different :)From$39

Overall is okay... but cleanliness is just a bit lack.. the good thing about this hotel is the room is spacious.. the swimming pool is belonged to the neighboring hotel MG Suites so customers from MG setos can not use the swimming pool freely, we have to pay 50k rupiah per person to be able to use the pool... the other downside is the Parking area, from the parking area to first lobby there is no elevator so if you bring a lot of luggage you have to carry it heavily by stair from parking area to first lobby before you can take the elevator.. so it is kinda a hassle.. but you can drop your belonging in front of the first lobby if you dont want to carry it all yourself there is the staff offering trolly, at night the parking area is locked it is safe but become a problem when you want to go out at night or come back at nightFrom$15

Insight room was different from the picture given on agoda, booking.com, traveloka even on their official website. Bed linen, pillow, towels got stain and the colour a bit yellowish. On their wall got a few of pencil sketched. And that make the room even look dirtier and dumped. The main thing was the bathroom. In the morning the water were so dirty, they said they were doing some repair to the water valve. And you guest what, they doing it in the morning where all the guests already wake up and need to use the toilet and we found out that the water was DIRTY with all the sands and the colour were brownish, then out of sudden the water heater also down. And the jackpot was, the water STOP running to all the rooms. THIS WAS PERFECT 😏 We already called 3 times and asked, and they only said wait for a while and keep on the water to flush away all the dirts. With out any other solutions. And that happens for almost 3 hours. They perfectly ruined our holiday with this Issue. We ask for extra towel, fyi, they only give 2 towels per room. We have 3 Children, so we asked for extra towel. We never got any problem on this even on budget hotel or at 4 or 5 Stars hotels before, You know what? After they give extra 2 towels, they asked for the existing 2 towels thats already in the room to be returned to them. We have explained to the house keeping that we have 3 kids, and of course 2 towels will not be enough (fyi, the towel is a bit thin, dont expect a furry thick towel like at other 4 or 5 starts hotel) What a silly service. Dont mention about the extra room key, they only gave us 1 room key, so we asked for 1 extra. You know what they said? We have not enough room key, so no more extra. It was a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT staying 1 night on 31st dec to 1st of Jan 2023 at LK Pandanaran Semarang. They charged almost 3times from their normal rate and this is what we got. We dont mind if you marked up your price almost 3times, specially during peak season, BUT PLEASE before doing that, improve your service, add more capable and professional labour to balance up with your price. Not mention about LK Simpang Lima Semarang. At their lobby, there was a water leakage, not sure why they havent done any repairing. Thats make us think that they all the SAME, at all LK Hotel Chains at semarang. But we would like to compliments the security outside the lobby area, he was very helpful, and genuinely helped us and give solutions when there were no more parking lot.From$31

We stayed in this hotel during our trip to Semarang, My sister booked a connecting room, I stayed with my wife and my 9y..o daughter, and my sis was in the next door room. The room that we stayed in has some smell, the staff said it's because the aircon has just been switched on, but I didn't think so because my sister's room didn't have that smell. The ensuite layout is rather odd and too narrow. The shower is almost fall off. The bedroom itself is fine, the service is also quite good. There is a rooftop swimming pool. |4.55km from city centerWimarion Hotel is always my choice every time I visit Semarang. It’s strategic located just 1 kilometre away from Simpang Lima and a few steps from St. Elisabeth hospital. This makes the hotel a perfect place in the middle between the downtown and the upper part of Semarang. The breakfast is good, the bed size is awesome (the biggest bed that’s big enough for 4 people to sleep in). The rooftop has a comfortable size swimming pool. The staffs are friendly and always ready to help. Ms. Firda was very helpful and and I was so grateful to have her helped me and my mom. Make sure you ask for the city view room so you can enjoy the lights of Semarang city on your balcony. I have stayed here many times and will be definitely back again.

It would be nice if we could have one because we only have 1 child. I recommend the hotel to relax this policy and would consider giving 5 stars. Hotel location is nearby from tollroad but a bit hidden from main road, very quite from hustle bustle, Its perfect for you if you really need a relax time. And I thought is also nearby from the airport because I can hear airplane engine from my room but it's not a problem for me. Reception staff is very friendly. Room is nice and clean. Unfortunately I didn't take the breakfast package due to I should check out early at 4 AM. So I don't know about the food taste. Sure I got a good stay experience here. Will be back to Mahima when visit Semarang and definitely will try their foods.
