We booked a family room and a triple room. We told the front desk that we wanted to check in at 3 PM, but they hadn't given us the room cards by then. We got one room first, and the triple room across the hall was still being cleaned. We wanted to be next to each other, but the front desk staff had a really bad attitude and told us it didn't matter where we slept since we weren't sleeping together anyway. We found out that a former leader had stayed here before. That's why our family room was upgraded to a 'sea view' room, but the view outside was just mediocre.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 for a business trip, and I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding their room tiers. I specifically paid a significant premium to book a ”Luxury Room,” expecting a tangible upgrade in space, amenities, or at least a higher standard of decor compared to the entry-level categories. However, after checking into my room and then visiting my colleague’s room—who had booked the ”Superior Room”—I was shocked to find they were virtually identical. The layout, the square footage, the furnishings, and even the bathroom setup were exactly the same. Aside from perhaps being on a slightly different floor, there was absolutely nothing ”Luxury” about my stay that justified the price hike over the Superior room. When you stay at a Accor/Sofitel property, you expect a clear distinction between room classes. Here, it felt like a predatory pricing tactic where the hotel charges more for the exact same product under a different name. The service at the hotel was fine, and the French-meets-Macanese aesthetic is nice, but I cannot overlook the feeling of being overcharged for an ”upgrade” that didn't actually exist. If you are planning to stay here, save your money and just book the Superior Room. Do not fall for the ”Luxury” tier trap—it is a complete waste of money. I won't be returning to this property on my next trip to Macau.

Location: It's a 20-minute walk from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, and a 30-minute ride from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge border gate on the Sands Hotel shuttle. After getting off, Artyzen Grand Lapa is right next door, which is very convenient. Within a 10-minute walk, you can reach attractions like Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Lotus Square, and the Grand Prix Museum. There are many elevators on the streets of Macau for crossing overhead walkways or underpasses, which is very user-friendly. Macau cars drive fast, so be sure to follow traffic rules and make the most of escalators and elevators on the roadside. You can take the Sands shuttle next door to places like The Venetian in Taipa. Walking to the Ruins of St. Paul's and Grand Lisboa takes 30-40 minutes. Public buses are also very convenient; use a ride-hailing app to automatically convert currency and pay. Ambiance: The hotel is indeed a bit old, with a retro feel, but it's very clean. There's a slight damp smell, but it's not bothersome. The room windows are sealed, offering a decent view but not much airflow. We booked connecting rooms with a double door in the middle. We had staff open it beforehand for access. It was essentially one king room connected to one twin room, perfect for families. However, be sure not to close the door to the twin room, as it can't be opened once shut. If you need soundproofing, just close the door to the king room. You can use mainland chargers directly in the room, and the hotel also provides adapter cables, which is a thoughtful touch. Although a bit old, it's clean and tidy. The toiletries and bath products are high-quality, with a white tea scent. There's a capsule coffee machine and tea bags, and two separate bathrooms are very convenient. Service: The hotel management is very organized. From the moment we entered, the service was excellent. During our two-night, three-day stay, I never had to open the lobby door myself; the doormen were always friendly, greeting us and offering help. Check-in was orderly, and every staff member was very nice, automatically switching languages for each guest without any arrogance or discrimination. They listened patiently to guests' needs and offered excellent suggestions. Luggage storage was also very organized, with room numbers on tags for each piece of luggage, so there was no worry about mixing them up. The staff were very diligent and friendly. At check-out, they proactively asked for feedback and didn't pressure for good reviews, sending us off with smiles. Complaints: The room's soundproofing isn't great. We could clearly hear conversations from next door, not to mention the sound of flushing toilets, which was even more noticeable. Light sleepers should consider this carefully. Because I didn't want to be disturbed, I pressed the 'do not disturb' switch every day before leaving, but upon returning, I found that someone had still entered and cleaned the room. While I appreciate the cleaning service, since I had already pressed the 'do not disturb' button, I hope the cleaning staff will pay more attention. Regarding smoking, the hotel has clear no-smoking signs, and there's a designated smoking area outside the lobby. On the streets, 'no smoking, fine' signs are everywhere. Self-awareness is key! Overall, the check-in experience was good value for the price. The hotel isn't as lively as some casino hotels but is more suitable for guests who prefer a quiet and quality stay. I would choose Artyzen Grand Lapa again on my next visit to Macau.

Macau|5.46km from city center
This was my second stay at Studio City Macau. I originally chose it hoping my kids could experience the indoor water park, but due to a packed schedule, we ended up not going and focused mostly on shopping. The hotel's location and amenities are definitely convenient, but the weekend premium is just too high. This time, the Celebrity Tower room cost nearly 2800 RMB. Compared to my previous stay in the Star Tower, I didn't feel any corresponding improvement in service despite the room upgrade. The overall service was quite average, definitely not up to five-star hotel standards. There was no attentive service, not even basic turndown service. It felt very procedural and impersonal. Honestly, if you're just going for the water park, you could totally stay at another hotel with better value for money and just buy individual tickets to the park – it would be more cost-effective. This hotel might be acceptable when prices are under 1000 RMB on weekdays, but paying almost 3000 RMB for one night really isn't worth it; the value for money is pretty low. I made a spontaneous decision when booking because my child had SATs, and there weren't many rooms left even three weeks in advance. If you're taking the SATs at the Escola Kao Yip exam center, I'd recommend New Oriental Landmark Hotel. It's just a short walk through an underpass to the school. I redeemed points and only paid a little over 600 RMB per night, saving more than 500 RMB – excellent value! It's in the old district, so it's not as bustling as hotels in Taipa, but it has King Cafe downstairs, which is perfect for kids rushing to an exam in the morning. Compared to many hotels in tier-3 and tier-4 cities in mainland China, service is becoming increasingly thoughtful and personalized. In contrast, these major five-star hotels in Macau still have a significant gap in service awareness and warmth. My overall experience was mediocre, and I wouldn't particularly recommend it. Just choose according to your needs. I also want to specifically mention the deposit issue. I checked in on March 14th and authorized the deposit via VISA. I've been back in Shanghai for several days now, and the deposit still hasn't been refunded. After inquiring with Ctrip, I was told I'd have to wait a month for it to be returned. This is the slowest deposit refund I've ever experienced in all my hotel stays, both domestically and internationally. Many places no longer even require a deposit, yet this hotel, with a 2800 RMB per night room, still charges a 1000 MOP deposit and has such a slow refund process. It's truly inexplicable and greatly detracts from the overall experience. And speaking of last year, we stayed here in February too, and compared to the New Year decorations last year, that moving red zodiac snake installation was absolutely stunning and created such a great atmosphere, whereas this year it was just a plain white carriage, much more uninspired in design. There was none of the thoughtfulness or highlights of previous years, and the overall impression was significantly worse.

I spent a few days in Macau during Chinese New Year and chose The Parisian Macao. The experience far exceeded my expectations – it's definitely my top choice for a relaxing getaway and picture-perfect moments. 📍 **Location & Transportation**: Located in the heart of the Cotai Strip, it's connected to The Venetian and The Londoner by indoor walkways. You can explore all three resorts without needing an umbrella, even on a rainy day. There's a free shuttle bus directly to the border gates and airport, making travel super convenient. 🏨 **Lobby & Rooms**: The 35-meter high French-style dome mural and crystal chandeliers give you an immediate sense of being transported to Paris the moment you walk in. Every snapshot is a hit on social media! The rooms are clean and comfortable, with skin-friendly bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. Soundproofing and cleanliness are excellent. The front desk is responsive, and you can store your luggage for free. 🍽️ **Dining**: The hotel offers a variety of dining options with different cuisines, price points, and atmospheres to suit every guest's preference. During our stay, we dined most frequently at the 'Colourful Flavor' restaurant on the first floor. They have freshly made Cantonese dim sum and Western cold dishes. The prices are moderate, and the portions are generous and delicious. 📸 **Must-Visit Spots**: Don't miss the free observation deck on the 7th floor of the Eiffel Tower for sunset and city views; capture the Eiffel Tower's reflection by the pool; and take an upward shot of the lobby dome for maximum ambiance. **Friendly Tip**: The shuttle bus can have queues during peak hours, so allow plenty of time. Overall, it's perfect for couples and family trips, offering romance, shopping, dining, and convenient transportation all in one place. Highly recommended!

The room was excellent: spacious, clean, bright, and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and there were no issues with the room itself or the comfort of the stay. However, the level of welcome was completely inconsistent with the hotel's standard and price. First, they required a deposit upon check-in. This seems odd for a hotel of this category, especially since they simply refuse to let you in without one. Second, check-in is only until 3:00 PM. For me, that's quite late—I travel a lot, and at hotels of this caliber, I often find more flexible or early check-in. Overall, the room itself and the accommodations were very good, but the check-in process left a bad impression.

This time, I made a last-minute booking at Holiday Inn Macau. During check-in, Mr. Wang at the front desk was professional and efficient. After understanding my situation, he proactively upgraded me to an executive floor suite. He wasn't overtly enthusiastic, but his attention to detail made me feel genuinely valued. It happened to be the fourth day of the ***** New Year, and in the morning, the hotel had a lion dance and a 'God of Wealth' performance. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic – a nice, ceremonial touch. The executive floor was relatively quiet, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay overall. What truly left an impression on me was what happened afterward. After checking out, I realized I had left my ring in the room, which naturally made me anxious. Upon contacting the hotel, the housekeeping manager quickly helped confirm its location and retrieve it. The entire communication process was efficient, and the sense of reassurance brought by such professionalism was more important than any physical amenity.

My stay at The Venetian Macao was absolutely beautiful and truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made the whole experience feel smooth and enjoyable. The room was amazing — spacious, comfortable, and elegant, with lovely details that made the stay feel luxurious and relaxing. One of the highlights was the stunning light show, which created such a magical atmosphere and added to the overall experience. The shopping was also incredible, with so many stores, restaurants, and things to see, making it easy to spend hours exploring without getting bored. Traveling to and from the hotel was extremely convenient. The ferry shuttles were easy to find, well organized, and very affordable, which made getting around Macau simple and stress-free. The hotel service was excellent. The front desk helped us with change, which saved us from an awkward situation with the taxi driver. They also upgraded us to a sea-view room, where we could see the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Although there was construction downstairs, it didn't disturb our rest; there was barely any noise.
