Overall a good experience and the location is good, just 8minutes walk to Jonker Street and you can stay in entire landed house. Sufficient bed for 10 pax.
The only concern is the shower water pressure is a little small.

Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Check in and out was smooth, although there was a queue for check in, probably as it was a long weekend. Very accomodating to.our requests (we had a total of 6 rooms).
Room was clean with usual amenities. Good water pressure and cold aircon, except for one room which was at the end. That one was a bit warm so suggest don't take end rooms unless you get cold easily. Walking in you'll find a mini sitting room with a couch & tv. Partial glass partition between this and the bedroom.
Breakfast was alright, quite a big space and nicely done up. Appreciate that the mains were double sided so people were spread out. A bit slow on the plate clearing but understood it was a busy period.
This is a non-smoking hotel so if you need to smoke will have to go to front of hotel or to the 9th flr car park.
There's a 7-11 on the ground floor as well as a nonya restaurant and a 'kopi tiam' sort of eatery with nice nasi lemak.
Overall it was a pleasant stay and would consider staying here again.FromUS$39

This hotel absolutely deserves a full five-star rating for its location, service, and ambiance! Upon arrival, the front desk thoughtfully offered a smoothie and a cold towel, instantly refreshing us from the scorching travel heat. After check-in, a staff member personally escorted us to our room, and we even received meticulous turndown service in the evening – a truly excellent experience.
The location is also impeccable. Directly across the river is the famous Dutch Square (Red Square), and it's only about a 200-meter walk to Jonker Street and the night market, making it incredibly convenient for getting around.
What surprised me the most was discovering, while looking through old photos, that I had unknowingly captured this hotel in a picture way back in 2012 when I first visited Malacca. This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing.
1. Check-in
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided.
2. Room Condition
Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly.
3. Bathroom
There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay.
4. Room Door & Bathroom Door
The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened.
We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day.
I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control.
The Most Disappointing Part
During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed.
If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied.
This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return.
I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.FromUS$25

This property would have gotten 200% points if they had a better parking system. For a 1st timer, things were so confusing for us. Moreover the access card given to us was not working thus we had to go up and down just to get things sorted out.
Parking - from the parking level 7 there are different access to different buildings. Had the security guard was not there, it would have been very hassle for us to find which lift entrance to use. The access card was not working and ended going down again to get it fixed and coming up again. FYI the check in place is not in the same tower as the one which are staying. The parking is not well lit at night so it's kinda scary to go there at night.
The property - everything was good and satisfactory at T3 12-02 which is a three-bedroom unit. If I come again, will prefer to use this unit again.
Breakfast buffet - this must be the highlight of the stay!!! The taste, varieties and price everything was just so good!!! The service was prompt and friendly, and sufficient people on duty. Very satisfied with it. The rate for adults RM30++ and children RM20++.FromUS$25

I love the location but hotel is quite noise during my stay, because of the window handle is broken since I checked in so the traffic noise is entering the small open window...the refrigerator is not working at all, luckily we only stay at the hotel for 1 night only if we stay for more than 1 night I will ask to change the minibar...the food breakfast are not variety also have to wait more than 30min for main dish,the sambal nasi lemak are undercooked and I had stomachache after I eat nasi lemak. I had a wonderful stay at Ibis Melaka during my recent trip to Malacca. The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways.
The location is very convenient, just a short walk to Jonker Street and the historic area, which made exploring the city extremely easy. At the same time, the hotel is situated in a quieter area, so it was peaceful and comfortable at night.
The rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and efficient layout of the room. Everything felt very new and thoughtfully designed.
The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, always greeting guests with a smile and ready to assist whenever needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient.
Another highlight was the excellent facilities, including the swimming pool, gym, and the spacious lobby area. The breakfast spread was also good with a nice mix of local and international options.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Ibis Melaka to anyone visiting Malacca. It offers great comfort, good value, and a very convenient location.

a great budget hotel find for anyone looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. the room was really cozy. got upgraded for a bigger room for f.o.c and it came fully equipped with a tv, iron and kettle nor mineral water. as a muslim travelers, they also provide a clear qibla direction sticker. the aircond was superb too, really cold and perfect for a good night's sleep. the bathroom was the best part, it was clean and the water pressure was really strong which makes showering so refreshing plus most importantly, it has a bidet hose, which is a huge plus. the elevators are okay so no long waits. the staff are very friendly and welcoming also theres plenty of parking space, not to worry about finding a spot for parking. hotel location very strategic & located in the middle a city & convenience store for restaurants, i have to walk a little bit, but it’s a manageable distance. one minor downside, the room soundproofing isnt the best, i can occasionally hear noise from the hallway or outside the room. if youre a light sleeper, you might want to take note of that. overall i highly recommended for those who want comfort on a budgetFromUS$17

Downside: the sink was clogged but quickly solved by the hotel. The lighting of the room is inadequate ; just warm orange light and no bright white lightbulb, makes it hard for me to do some light reading inside the room and the lobby lacks of air conditioner and there were chipped bowls served during the breakfast.FromUS$17
