I'd like to share my experience staying at Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake. Our stay there was truly superb. For anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen city life, but without the hassle of traveling too far or expending too much energy, this hotel is the most effortless and ideal choice for a relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, a friendly security guard promptly opened our car door. A female bellhop then proactively assisted with our luggage and guided us to the front desk. The reception staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The entire check-in process was smooth, swift, and comfortable, feeling as seamless as a dream. What truly stood out and deserves special commendation was the exceptional service from the front desk staff. After exchanging contact information, one particular staff member took care of us throughout our entire stay with incredible attentiveness. Their care was apparent morning, noon, and night. In the morning, they would greet us, share hotel information, and even advise on the best time to check-in to avoid waiting. Around midday, they'd follow up to ensure our room experience was satisfactory. In the evening, they'd kindly remind us to close the balcony door, as the hotel's lakeside and mountainous setting sometimes attracts 'little critters' like mosquitoes and other small animals. Their post-check-in service left us thoroughly impressed and extremely satisfied. They consistently demonstrated professionalism and meticulously handled all our arrangements through detailed communication. This proactive, 'go-the-extra-mile' service deeply touched us as guests. Such dedication solidified our appreciation for the hotel's professionalism, truly demonstrating that attention to detail makes all the difference. The hotel room itself was incredibly spacious, measuring over 70 square meters. It felt huge and expansive, providing more than enough space for the two of us. During evening turn-down service, the room was infused with Banyan Tree's signature essential oils and aromatherapy scents, which was incredibly soothing – exactly the kind of sensory luxury you'd expect from such a brand. The bed was large, and the bedding exceptionally comfortable. Coupled with the soft, warm lighting, it created a perfect ambiance for sleep. As someone who often struggles with insomnia, I found myself drifting off quickly and comfortably that night without any trouble. The in-room toiletries were Banyan Tree's exclusive products, which we absolutely loved. The shampoo, in particular, left my hair feeling wonderfully voluminous. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered some online after returning home. While the overall footprint of the hotel grounds isn't massive, the walk from the lobby to the Chinese restaurant takes about 7 minutes, which was actually quite pleasant. The landscaping along the way is beautifully maintained, and we even spotted two charming geese – a delightful little surprise! The hotel's design and decor are incredibly photogenic, with a color palette that makes for stunning pictures. We spent a joyous day exploring the hotel with our camera, snapping photos everywhere, and honestly felt like there wasn't enough time. The hotel also offers bicycle rentals, costing around 50 RMB per bike per hour. Since we were only there for a short 2-day, 1-night stay, we didn't have enough time to rent bikes and explore the surroundings. Overall, our stay experience at the hotel was excellent. This vacation, complete with mountains, a lake, the Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake's exceptional service, and our joyful memories, was truly unforgettable.

First class hotel faculties with  excellent services making our overnight stay extremely  comfortable and enjoyable and would recommend to anyone who seek for the best hotel, intercontinental is the one. There is a lady Mia who offers cares and services in every details which worth mention.

The Hyatt Regency Dongguan offers a very comfortable and relaxing stay, and the staff’s ability to communicate in English was a big plus, making everything more convenient. I particularly enjoyed having breakfast outdoors while watching the sunrise—it was such a serene and memorable experience. The staff went out of their way to accommodate this request, which I truly appreciated. The breakfast itself was decent, with a nice variety to start the day on a positive note. However, one downside was that no one assisted me with my luggage. My room was quite far from the main reception, and dragging my suitcase all the way across the carpeted floors was a bit frustrating. Despite this, the property’s design and ambiance were wonderful, offering a peaceful and quiet getaway. With a little extra attention to guest assistance, this could be an even better experience.

For this trip, I booked the most basic room type for a 2-day stay on Trip.com, which is ideal for a parent traveling with one child from Shenzhen. Room Environment: The room felt quite humid, but since I'm sensitive to smells, I brought my own sandalwood diffuser, which helped. The room came with a dehumidifier, a heated towel rail, and a bathtub – definitely thoughtful amenities. Activities: If you're looking for water fun, this is the place! It has everything: pools, a water park, and hot springs. You can bring your own swim rings and inflate them at the hotel. My child had a blast for two days, consistently renting electric water guns and mini yachts, which was genuinely entertaining. Manual rowing is available for 68 RMB per hour, a reasonable price comparable to kayaking. The large lawn is perfect for evenings, featuring outdoor movies and live singing performances (which were rather mediocre). Let's talk about the food: We saw some people ordering takeout on the lawn, which seemed convenient, but we decided to eat all our meals at the hotel. The buffet dinner was 300 RMB per person. My 8-year-old, being 1.4m tall, was charged the adult price. This might be due to the large summer holiday crowds, especially many guests from Hong Kong. We queued for oysters but only managed to get 6 in total, which felt like poor value for money. The next day, we switched to the Han Palace Chinese restaurant. The 2-person set meal was 198 RMB, plus an extra fried rice for 58 RMB (a 15% service charge applies). As a registered hotel member (lowest tier), we received a 5% discount. The food was tasty and offered good value for money. However, if ordering a la carte at full price, a simple meal would easily cost 150-200 RMB per person. Service: Overall, it was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic. My child injured their foot in the bathroom, and the staff promptly brought iodine and band-aids. (The door stopper on the bathtub was quite a design flaw). I was invited to leave a review after checking out. Given the effort involved in writing a detailed review, I decided to type all this out. I hope the hotel maintains its current occupancy rate, and perhaps the basic room types will be renovated soon too~

It is really good, beyond expectation. The hotel itself is a scenic spot with complete facilities. The disadvantage is that there is no tea set in the room, which is not in line with Guangdong characteristics. The service attitude is good. It is very suitable for a relaxing vacation.

Great Hotel with Excellent Facilities, But Poor Tennis Court Experience We stayed at this hotel recently and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located just 700 meters from the metro, making it easy to reach. The property is spacious and includes an outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna, gym, a tennis court (details below), a large dining hall, and two separate massage areas offering various treatments. Room & Service: The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a larger room upon arrival. The staff were friendly and polite. Food: We’d rate the food 3.5 out of 5. The buffet is advertised as European, but the dishes lean heavily toward Chinese cuisine. Breakfast wasn’t to our taste, so we decided to skip dinner. Massage: There are two massage salons. We booked a foot massage, but the therapists ended up giving us an almost full-body massage, paying extra attention to sore areas. It was a wonderful experience — 5 out of 5. Pools & Sauna: Both pools are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. If you prefer fewer people, we recommend the indoor pool around 7 a.m. and the outdoor one around 2 p.m. The pools were clean and warm, and we appreciated the Swedish sauna in the locker room. Again — 5 stars. Gym: The gym is well-equipped and never crowded. Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. — another 5 stars. Tennis Court: Unfortunately, this was the only major disappointment. Despite several attempts to book and show up at the scheduled time, no staff were present. Phone calls were ignored or we were told, “I don’t have time to talk.” We eventually got a refund (booked via *******), but the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Rating: 1 out of 5. Overall: Aside from the tennis court issue, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to others. Great amenities, clean rooms, and a peaceful environment.

Perfect getaway from city life. The staff were friendly and the food options were good. There were fun activities set up for kids, in addition to that they have a trampoline park, kids pool, kids golf, kids arcade and an animal park. We had complimentary tickets to the Shenzhen resort but were not able to use them. The food options were good, and we could order from outside which was convenient because there was no convenient store in the resort. They have a Starbucks on-site I appreciated that a lot. Overall, I’d recommend this to my friends and given time we’d go again.

We loved this hotel for its service and location - right in the centre next to several shopping malls, a supermarket, food streets - so convenient. Our room seemed on the smaller side though likely because we booked a room with two double beds. It came with an exceptional view outside too and the bathroom was beautiful. My only issue was that we were supposedly staying in a non smoking floor. However, on our first night, we had a strong smell of cigarettes entering our room. It was so bad that it felt as though someone was actually smoking in our room so we didn’t get to sleep much on our first night. With a newborn and toddler, this was certainly not ideal. The smell was still there in the morning but was less strong by the following evening. We tried to request a room change but were told that they weee unfortunately fully booked. Despite this, we would still choose to stay here again.
