The room was spacious and very clean, and all the staff were incredibly friendly. Both the front desk and restaurant staff provided excellent service. For some reason, my breakfast top-up didn't get registered in the system at the front desk, but the staff were very accommodating; they just noted my room number for later verification and let me through. A special shout-out to the cleaner, Lin Yuanju. Because we extended our stay and had a child with us, the room often got quite messy, but she always cleaned it spotlessly and replenished supplies promptly. The five-star service standard is truly well-maintained.
The breakfast was abundant and could be enjoyed until noon, and the view from the breakfast restaurant was absolutely fantastic! Our package included Peking duck, and they were very flexible. When our reserved restaurant had an unexpected issue and canceled, we opted for takeout instead. They gave us two days' worth at once, with one duck fitting perfectly into a whole box.
The only minor drawbacks were that the hotel's public pool was a bit small, as was the lawn area, but its proximity to the beach certainly made up for it.FromMXN1,594

We booked a family suite at the grand mercury but the suite was on the third floor, which made it very hard for us and our 1 year old to access and we weren’t really feeling the vibe of the suite. However, a concierge named Kiki came over and went out of her way to make us comfortable. Even though the entire hotel was very full and busy, she found us a huge suite, added two extra beds for our daughters to sleep separately, brought all kinds of fruits and drink every day and checked on us constantly during our entire stay.
Even though the hotel is a bit dated, the hotel’s ancient style architecture, gardens, ponds and the style is something to be mesmerized by. You have a heated children’s pool and two big full size pools at both wings.
The hotel stands in the center of the Baihua market like a gigantic Chinese temple, therefore, the location makes everything so convenient.
Our what to have been an average stay was quickly fulfilled and transformed into smiles because of Kiki’s service and set a high standard for us on how hotels should treat their guests.

To be honest, I was quite looking forward to staying here because it used to be an Anantara property. I've been to Hainan four or five times already, and I generally prefer the convenience of Dadonghai and Xiaodonghai, so I chose this hotel for my stay. Overall, after Anantara de-flagged, the hotel's maintenance and management really fell behind.
We checked in at 5 PM that day, only to be told our room wasn't ready yet. The front desk staff said he'd help expedite the cleaning, so we had to go stroll on the beach for half an hour before finally checking in. Once in the room, it was clear the facilities were outdated. Even though it had a Kohler toilet, it was a very old model from many years ago. The bathroom and toilet area were very old overall, and there was even a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Luckily, it's close to the city, so ordering takeout was convenient, and we just made it through the first night.
On the second day, we opted for room cleaning and went out for lunch around 11 AM. When we returned to the hotel around 2 PM, the door lock wouldn't open. The front desk came to check and found that the lock was indeed problematic, completely out of battery, they said. They had to call engineering to open it, and after it was opened, it couldn't be closed again. Inside, we found the room hadn't been cleaned at all, and the toilet smell was extremely strong. We immediately contacted the front desk to request an early check-out that day and moved to a hotel in Haitang Bay.
Sigh, the hotel seemed severely understaffed. It felt like the same front desk person was handling everything and apologizing from start to finish.
As for breakfast, there were very few items, and even fewer servers. In the morning, a server even swept eggshells directly onto the floor. I thought she'd clean the floor afterward, but she didn't...
I can only say, if you're looking for something cheap, you can stay here, but if you're planning a vacation, forget it. The only good things about this hotel are its convenient location and the decent view of Xiaodonghai; there's really not much else to praise.FromMXN1,920

On the first day, I added Jill, our butler, on WeChat. Our first room was a bit far from the sea, so I asked the butler, and she immediately helped us switch to a much more comfortable room. All the staff were incredibly enthusiastic, which made us feel great. The next day, when they asked about our needs, I just mentioned wanting two extra bottles of water, and when we returned to the room, there were six! We couldn't even finish them by check-out. The pool had quite a few kids playing in the afternoon, but it was well-managed. Breakfast was decent; there weren't a huge variety of dishes, but the staff managed it very orderly, always leading us to our seats. The public areas weren't large but were very clean and perfect for photos. In the evenings, there was a lively band playing on the lawn. The room balcony was very comfortable, and once the sliding door was closed, the room was super quiet and not noisy at all. Overall, it was a great experience, and my child had a fantastic time. I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is located on the easternmost side of Yalong Bay, right next to a military zone, which means very few outside tourists venture here. It's essentially like having a private beach for hotel guests.
As expected, the hotel's facilities are quite old, but still acceptable overall, and the sea view is stunning.
It's incredibly close to the beach; you're just 100 meters from the sea once you step out of the hotel. Without a doubt, it's the cheapest beachfront hotel in Yalong Bay, offering amazing value for money. Perfect for the average traveler.

This was my second stay at the Guoguang, and I stayed for 3 days. My last visit was back in 2018, so 8 years have passed. This time, I had the same room and room type as before – a sea view room directly facing the ocean, and the scenery is absolutely stunning, no filters needed.
The hotel offers many free parent-child activities, with several sessions daily. Parents on family trips can book activities for the next day one day in advance.
**Service:** Excellent. They contacted me in advance to confirm my check-in time and any special requests, and adding them on WeChat made communication easy. A big thank you to KAY for the warm welcome! Knowing we had to leave at 5:30 AM on our last day, she reminded us to tell the front desk the day before so they could pack breakfast for us.
**Environment:** It's an older five-star hotel, but its strength lies in the ocean views and convenient transportation; getting to the airport is very easy.
**Facilities:** The hotel decor is the same as before. After all this time, it's inevitably a bit dated, but considering the value for money and the service, it's acceptable.

This trip, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza and had a fantastic experience. As someone traveling with family and kids, and having stayed at a few beachfront hotels, I highly recommend this one! It's definitely worth staying here with children and family!
1. A big thank you to the hotel butler who always upgraded my room based on my needs; the service was incredibly thoughtful.
2. Whether it was the complimentary mosquito repellent or helping us move rooms, the service was truly attentive.
3. The hotel pool offers direct access to the beach, which is perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning, enjoying the sunset in the afternoon, or even catching crabs at night. If you get your clothes wet in the ocean, you can quickly head back to the hotel to change and wash up – something you can't do if you're staying further away.
4. As a resort hotel, it keeps you and the kids entertained non-stop. In fact, the kids were so happy, we didn't even need to leave the hotel!

The room, though a bit old, clearly just underwent renovations. I stayed on the seventh floor and had a view of trees, the sea, mountains, and the sunset. The bathroom blinds couldn't be opened from the outside, and the bathroom light lacked a nightlight – these definitely need improvement. There's also no place to put toiletries in the shower, which should be addressed. The front desk staff was responsive. Since the trees were too dense to see the sea from the fifth floor, they moved me to the seventh. The hallway has carpet, and there was an air purifier in the room. The room's cleanliness was good; cups had no water marks, and the toilet lid was clean. The breakfast, based on the pictures, is served in two areas, so it shouldn't be crowded. There are plenty of coffee machines. Unfortunately, I'm not good with powders, so I just ate randomly. You can grab beach towels freely. The heated pool faces the ocean, and the lanes inside were thankfully free of children, which was great. In the evenings, there was bonfire dancing. The hammocks on the hillside were often occupied by people live-streaming. The buffet dinner offered crab, salmon, tuna, and the red wine was better than the white. I got to use the paddleboard for half an hour, and when I was checking out, the front desk lady waived the fee, which I appreciated. The takeaway cabinet is conveniently located at the lobby entrance. Across the road, there's a fruit shop, a small convenience store, and places to eat – very convenient. Turning left upon leaving the hotel, there's a food court, also very convenient. The public areas have a complex design, making it easy to get lost at night. Afternoon tea was good, especially if you're with a larger group. There's singing in the lobby until 10 PM, creating a lively atmosphere. Oh, and the balcony gets sun in the afternoon, perfect for drying clothes; I recommend bringing two swimsuits to alternate. The service was absolutely impeccable. As soon as we entered, someone helped us with our luggage and even gave us a welcome gift. The room was very clean, with no bugs or anything like that. We had dinner at the Marriott in the evening, and one of the coconuts was bad. They didn't make any excuses and immediately offered a refund for it. The restaurant food was delicious!
The public areas were beautiful and very clean, and there were plenty of activities for kids.
When we were leaving, the lobby manager overheard that my child liked macarons and packed two for us. It was incredibly thoughtful. We will definitely choose the Marriott again when we come back to Sanya.FromMXN4,011
