The Covid-19 pandemic has really hit Acapulco HARD! Additionally, the recent earthquake didn't help hotels in the area either. But, guest looking to book this hotel should know a few things. I was willing to let a lot of things go that would normally concern me about a hotel. But..... First: This hotel has not been updated at all since it was built. There were only 2 (2-pronged) outlets in the room. If you had a computer to charge/use - you were out of luck. The plumbing fixtures appear to be original to when the building was built. If you had children - it would be very easy for them to scald themselves while taking a shower. The toilet is updated and very noisy. It could wake the dead. The wifi works sufficiently as this room was right outside the repeater which is clearly visible from the hallway. And, the AC worked too. Second: The room looked and felt dirty after seeing mold growing on the ceiling of the bathroom and shower curtain; you start to notice all the things that needed to be addressed/cleaned. The sink was intended to be ”under mount” but appears to be cemented in place. The sliding patio door had a huge crack in it (I assume after the earthquake) Third: EVERY SINGLE HOTEL in a tropical area should supply their guests with ICE! This hotel charges $20 pesos for ice. It's a small amount; but, given all the other crummy elements you put up with staying at this hotel - - it is the least they could do for their guests. I spoke with the manager to let him know that other hotels in Acapulco have ice machines and provide that ice to their guests as part of their room rates. He re-stated the hotel policy (absolutely useless!) FINALLY: there are 2 elevators for a 22 story tower hotel. That is not sufficient. Additionally, they appeared to be mal-functioning. When you would press the PB button - every floor below you would light up. The elevator would stop on all floors below you and no one was waiting to get on. The floor of the elevator was never even with the floor it stopped on. I tripped a few times. Getting on these elevators after a earthquake was SCARY to say the least. The location of this hotel is the only reason why I booked this location. I had nicer hotels that were less expensive that I could have stayed at - but chose this one because of the location. It is safe to say, I would never stay here again - under the current management and without a complete/full renovation.

We were traveling as an extended family and had the three-bedroom suite facing the bay. Very nice, very clean, absolutely no complaints. Each room had a balcony. We saw sea turtles swimming in the water by the rocks numerous times. The hotel staff is pleasant and helpful. We did not encounter any staff members who were not. Part of what made the visit so enjoyable is that the taxi drivers located outside the Fiesta Americana provide a great service. We booked a daylong tour with Jose Luciano Callejas Gonzalez. We paid less than then tour companies were charging, traveled in a spotlessly clean air conditioned Suburban, and got a personalized tour. Jose took us to numerous scenic outlooks, the Chapel of Peace (a must see), the Diego Rivera mural (another must see), the Mirador for lunch and to watch the cliff divers, the outdoor ampitheater, Los Flamingoes to see the view, and other stops. We really felt like we got a great overview of city. Jose's English is excellent and he's very knowledgeable. Look for the guy in the turquoise shirt, his service is exceptional! We also worked with several other drivers stationed at the hotel. Oscar Cervantes also has excellent English and outstanding service, as does Pedro. The pools at the hotel were very nice. One was closed for renovation while we were there (June 2023) but the others offered plenty of space. One nice surprise is that several floors offer washers and dryers free of charge. So great to be able to take home a suitcase of clean clothes! Our room had a small kitchen, stovetop only, no oven, plus microwave, dishwasher, and fridge. We made a run to the grocery store and were able to cook meals there some days. The hotel plays music throughout the evening and late into the night on the weekends. If you're sensitive to sounds, take ear plugs. The music didn't bother us but it might bother others. Fiesta Americana is in easy (and safe) walking distance to numerous restaurants. We particularly liked La Finca. I whole-heartedly recommend Fiesta Americana and its excellent staff and taxi drivers!

Because I was worried more about the bad comments I had seen about this hotel, but the truth is that the room that touched me was quite acceptable, obviously not waiting for luxury for what I paid and more on a holiday bridge, But if you were to expect a clean room and with what is necessary for a comfortable stay, the rooms actually look a little old, like in the 1990s but have a cold, a glass table, chairs, kitchen and a bed sofa. I have to say that the only disadvantages I had were a contact that connected the screen because it was not running out and that the wifi had a very weak signal, for the rest, the staff were very kind, 10 minutes later in the check-in which I thought a fairly reasonable time, I had no problem with waiting time in lifts, the clean room and the next day at 12 the room was ready to seat the room, It seems that the air conditioning equipment was recently replaced, because I already touched one remote control, no longer the manual equipment of those that are very noisy, the area of woods light clean as the beach and I had the luck that I touched one Quiet oil and quite acceptable breakfast buffet for the 145 pesos you pay, I insist, may the hotel be austere and a little old, but the staff treatment, The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.

This is a one-star hotel at best. I was on a family reunion trip and each family member made their own reservation, and out of the 11 rooms that were booked each room dealt with things that were unbelievable. Our specific room key stopped working 3x and the last time it happened we asked someone to come help us instead of us having to HIKE to the front desk with our two small children. They finally sent someone who still couldn't open the door and my husband, myself, and 2 kids had to wait an hour while they tried to get our door open, the conclusion was that the battery had run out on the machine. My cousin requested a crib for her 9-month-old daughter and the crib broke with the baby inside and she fell through!!!! When one of the children became sick, we decided to keep her in the room and sent someone down to get dinner at the buffet and were told we could not bring any food to our room, so what were we supposed to do? not feed a sick child? The Italian food restaurant was the worst food ever and it was not even eatable. The burger guy at the pool had better food than the ”fancy” dining experience. Every person in our party that ate at the seafood restaurant became sick the day after eating there. The worst part though was the layout of the hotel, you need to take 2 different elevators and a tram to get anywhere, and the tram broke late at night with no power and people trapped inside there. The next day the trams were broken so it was more hiking up the hill, rocks, stairs, broken down elevators, and trying to make it up to the lobby or our room. The one and only star I give this hotel is to the guy who kept bringing us drinks at the pool, his name is Alejandro and he deserves a raise! The entertainment team was also good we did enjoy karaoke and bingo even though my bingo prize hat was stolen at the pool. Skip this hotel

🚗 Transportation: Take a taxi to the airport for 450 pesos per person, on a very beautiful small peninsula, 25 minutes from the airport by car. 🧹 Hygiene: Impeccable, the yard is even clean 🍃Environment: Each one is a single-family villa with a private small swimming pool, with good privacy. The bay view is already beautiful and very good value. 🔔Service: 24-hour room service, call the golf cart in the park anytime, anywhere. The Thai restaurant is worth trying. The fish soup really has the taste of grandma. The restaurant can watch the sunset and unforgettable scenery. The best hotel in Acapulco without a doubt, deserves 5 stars.

This hotel is a shit, the photos you have on your page and apps, are two years ago. We were just in Family this weekend Thursday 25 May of this present and the asshole gardens, the room with animals(cucarachas) the bathroom don't deliver it as they say on the disinfected photo, don't give you control for air conditioning, The beds nothing to see on the photos are a fool or want to sleep in them, they don't change the shoes and the cobby put them again, TV is of the oldest, they don't give you the key to the wifi, the phone never had line, You must put soaps and shampoo, well because they only put you two small for the two days you reserve and the shampoo half likewise they didn't put me another on the second day. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

Is By far the best hotel of Acapulco, it offers the best views from Dorado and Diamante beach, every single room as it’s own charm, luxurious bath, bed, and amenities from L’Occtane. The main pool is gorgeous, and the bar is tended by the best people ever, Daniel, Diego the 2 Alfredo’s, Alberto you guys are so awesome, thank you for the best drinks ever. If you are a private person, the hotel has 20 pool villas, very spacious, great private pool and they have amazing views to the bay. We come back every year because we love the food which is amazing all the way, the views and the tranquility Encanto provides but the key part for us is the service, the staff will make you feel at home from the very first moment and we love that every single time we come back we see the familiar faces ❤️ Thank you so much to Edwin, Candido, Fany, Iliana, Sebastian, Neftalí, Alfredo, Alberto, Francisco, Oscar, Lety, Ana, Arantza and everybody else who took care of us. Special thanks to Miguel A. For all the details, warmth, attentions and of course for creating this beautiful place. We will come back very soon Until then stay healthy Estefania & Tobias Bechtel

The building has an intriguing shape and there are many pools. It’s also right in La Condesa Beach. Ideal location, you would think. BUT…. 1. After checking in, I found a very dirty washroom sink, and called down to report it. The woman who arrived waved her hand dismissively but I stood my ground and she cleaned it. Turns out the drain is clogged so even if the poor cleaner did her job the first time, the previous guest’s hair and muck would ring the sink unless you took special care. Annnd the sink was never fixed the whole time I was there. 2. At checkin I got a band slapped on my wrist and later realized every guest got one. It showed you belong on the property. Also they come in different colors: White means a basic stay; red means breakfast included and purple means all inclusive. So yea others will know what you’re paying for during your stay. 3. The beach is pretty good except it’s a pirate’s cove — meaning that because of the vagaries of Mexican law, though Hotsun has a great location and a piece of the beach for its guests, where you can generally sit free, the spots nearest the water belong to the government. So if you sit in the lounge chairs and under the tents nearest the waves, you have to pay different guys who keep changing the price every single day. If you land on a cruise ship from some far-flung country you may not be aware of this. Those guys, wearing uniforms of some sort, also sell drinks that are exorbitantly priced. Before you figure out they have nothing to do with Hotsun, you may be taken for a ride. I was. Also, every 1-2 mins of every day, vendors descend on the beach with all sorts of things for sale. In one day I was asked to buy grilled shrimp on a stick, coconut water with jelly, sun hats, fridge magnets, massages, boat rides, oysters, sun dresses, sunglasses, beach floats, tattoos, braids, sunscreen, sand boots and a serenade from a nice old man with a guitar. People have to make a living, yes, and the law makes Mexican beach space very democratic, but I wish the hotel, which took a $200 MXN returnable deposit to give me a towel to lie by the pool for the duration of my stay, had warned me about the Wild West nature of the beach where it is located, and pointed out which uniformed person belongs to the hotel and a head’s up so I could buy at my own risk. I said “No, gracias” maybe 90 times during that one week. 4. The noise, oh the noise. El ruido comes up to the hotel’s top floors and grabs you by the neck: Music, laughter, children squealing, etc. These are usually all marvelous aspects about living on planet earth, but when you can’t sleep because a group at the hotel is holding a party on the beach and the thump thump thump of reggaeton is blaring deep into the night and giving you a headache, the conclusion is the hotel is not prioritizing the comfort of the rest of its guests. If this is your jam, go for it. But for many it would be a frustrating experience all around.

This hotel should be a national monument, given its architecture. Most likely it was built during the 1960s, and it features three rotunda towers, none of which are more than six stories high (essentially the perfect size for a hotel; developers take note!!!). Surrounded on both sides by abominable and shabbily-constructed high-rises, the Acapulco Malibu is an absolute gem in the rough. Each room, from what I could gather, has its own balcony, is rather astonishingly spacious, and has a floor to ceiling mirror next to the bed...which is SO '70s fabulous it's...beyond belief! On the whole, service was excellent, the restaurant food was adequate, and noise levels a bit high (but by no means extreme). The pool was absolutely delicious -- perfect water temperature, cleanliness, shape and size...AND the deck overlooks glorious Acapulco Bay. BEAUTIFUL! The price when I stayed was a leetle high, however, given the fact that Acapulco is such a rat hole of a city. Sure, it's not Tulum and it's not Tijuana, but it's still fundamentally a consumerist hellscape with miles of barrios surrounding its core.

Stayed as a family with 2 kids. From February 1-11, 2023. The room was with a small kitchen, it saves a lot of money on food and you can eat the usual foods. Huge Walmart across the street. Sea 5 minutes, great beach. Downstairs irishpub good food and beer. The casino is a bit further away for game lovers. There are restaurants did not go but looks good. The hotel is old and scary at the entrance. But given the price and location, it's just the Ritz😅. I recommend to those who care about the clean sea, and a super budget vacation.

The hotel belongs to the resort. The rooms are located on the entire mountain. There are separate buildings on the upper and lower floors. Each one is from an open-air small swimming pool. The hotel has its own seaside bath, which is free for residents only, and there is a regular shuttle bus to the bath. Hotel health and environment.

Ok so I’m from California but now living in Mexico City. We take a few hours to get to Acapulco. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Acapulco but Quinta Real is the best by far! This is my seventh time in two decades staying at Quinta Real Acapulco. Although they are by the book when it comes to rules here the staff is amazing! They are extremely kind, anticipate your needs, make you feel extremely welcome. Rooms although unchanged other than some USB ports and modern TV is very well kept and clean. Even on the beach they splash water all day to make a cool clean path to the ocean. Cocktails were mixed to perfection and best of all was the dining. Chef here is the real deal. No need to go out because the view from the restaurant is unbelievable. Please know I’m. It exaggerating. These are my real opinions. Anyway please support the last best hotel in Acapulco. My second choice is the Camino Real Acapulco. Great company.

The hotel is quite good and relatively new, so the facilities are well preserved. There were two topics that bothered me : 1) I couldn't get extra coats. The answer was decisive, ”we have no availability”, so simple. It's not possible that in a chain hotel you need coats! 2) The bathroom has no tapes for the entrance to the bathroom and inside it. The floor is very sparkly with the risk of a fall. In addition, the water is out of the bathroom and floods part of the bathroom. I emphasisely suggest take sandals to avoid falling The Kleenex was completed on the first day of our stay and was never replaced.

AZUL restaurant! A lovely Mexican cuisine experience in beautiful Acapulco in Iconic Princess Mundo Imperial, I have tried some few dishes of them (Pescadillas, Mole, torta de coco) and almost all of them taste delicious! They have various Mexican food in menu and their bar of alcoholic and non alcohol drink is pretty much complete for different tastes. I appreciate help of Jorge Jimenez In Azul restaurant, he was helping me carefully with my food choice and he recommended me a very tasty drink (mixed of orange and pineapple), which I ordered 2 more! All other staff are pretty professional and kind and it’s easy to understand that you won’t leave the restaurant unhappy. Thank you very much!

I very rarely write a review but felt like I needed to with this hotel. This hotel has nice rooms and pool areas and good location on the beach, but would not recommend for couples or single or business travelers. At least 80% of the guests were families. The hotel has some really frustrating things that make the stay a lot less enjoyable than it should be. 1. Check-in - waited 20 mins to check-in even though we were the 1st people in the Queue and there were only 1 other couple checking in . There seemed to be 3 staff moving between the front counter and back office but no one made eye contact or acknowledged you. I felt a bit invisible. Not a nice first impression. 2. Breakfast. Chaotic. Included in the room rate and its a buffet. Arrived 0930 and waited 30 mins to get in as it was so busy. Had to linger around the entrance and wait to your name was shouted out to go in. The staff at the entrance were nice and cope well under the pressure of all the hungry guests waiting to get in. There is other staff standing around by the entrance and reception area - but just observing and not actually doing anything to make the guest experience any better - strange. In the breakfast restaurant it will full of families and kids. Really noisy and cramped and to make it even more noise there is music playing and TV's on the wall. What should be a nice relaxing breakfast is a stressful experience. There is a queue for each buffet station. We never had the cooked breakfast as the queue was too long to wait for. Got out of bed 90 mins earlier to avoid have the same breakfast experience again the next day (0800). The breakfast restaurant is way too small to cope with the amount of guests - I presume this is a daily experience. The space needs to be expanded. 3. Pool areas. There is a family pool where people save beds very early in the morning - you will need be to be up early to get a sunbed here. The adult pool is really nice however 3 annoying things which make relaxing by the pool a really un-relaxing experience. Music - high energy music blasting out of a low-quality crackly low-quality speaker which sounded terrible. It was obvious no one was enjoying the music and does not create a chilled relaxing vibe. I can't understand why the hotel management cannot see this? The sun loungers away from the pools and on the grass are all fixed upright with wooden blocks so you cannot lay them flat. I have never seen this in any hotel worldwide - I cant understand why a hotel would do that unless its to make them look better in photography? It is certainly not in the best interests of the guests. There was a waiter that would take drinks orders for you but he never approached us or made eye contact in the 2 days we were there. It seems like to you have get his attention or approach him when you see him. There was only 1 barman working hard at the pool bar and always people waiting to order - so didn't bother as it seems like it was going to be a long wait. Other s

We stayed in a deluxe room with an ocean/beach view. The room was very clean, our king size bed was very comfortable and our view was amazing. The hospitality of ALL staff we encountered was flat out EXCELLENT. An honorable mention of Crystal, who greeted us upon arrival and every morning during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. Any want or need that we had was met immediately upon asking, and recommendations for best places to eat, visit, or shop for specific items were spot on and reasonably priced. The taxi drivers that are regularly stationed here were very informative as well. Beach access was easy and only a few steps outside the hotel. Security is always at the gate, and they kept an eye on us each time we decided to stay on the beach after sundown. At no time during our stay did we ever feel unsafe. I have visited many, many places in Mexico, and the warmth, friendliness, courtesy, and hospitality in Acapulco is by far the best that I have ever received. A huge kudos and even bigger thank you to all of the staff at the Copacabana…. You guys are the best! We will be rebooking and visiting you again shortly :).

I made a reservation and they sent me a mail saying they would send me the data to make the initial payment. In fact they sent me a initial booking number. They never sent me the data, but when I arrived I gave them the number they sent me and they did not respect it telling me that that number was not a booking, I commented to the manager that I NOT received the lis datis mail and told me that it was not his problem. In fact, he told me he had no mail, I told him they had sent me a mail, he insisted he had nothing. But just before he had sent another mail and, curiosously, that did see it. Then I had commented that I had a room, but as I complained that they were not serious, because he denied it to me being quite gruesome. Sorry, but there are also other options, and better, we actually got a better hotel, fortunately.

I will start off with the positive and give 5* to the 3 waiters in the Bambuco Restaurant. David M who has always made my previous visits to Hotel Elcano Bambuco Restaurant a lovely experience in dining. David is a personable, pleasant young man and speaks excellent English. This visit in January I also had the pleasure of being served by Rigoberto who is pleasant and speaks English. And I can not forget to thank the pleasant Pablo at breakfast who always with a smile would bring over when ever he saw me two Concha (delicious sweet breads). Pablo also speaks English so he was the only one at Breakfast that knew what kind of bread rolls I wanted. I booked an all inclusive package with Sunwing Vacations to Hotel Elcano from January 11 to 18 and stayed in room 815. I am sure the Reservations Manager and Director of Hotel Elcano knows who I am and did not really care that they might lose me as a returning guest. One of the many reasons I returned to Hotel Elcano in the past is because I enjoyed having the choice of Buffet or Set Menu at Lunch and Dinner. I also enjoy their food, their wonderful presentation of their dishes and their excellent service by their waiters when I order from the set menu. This trip in January I was told by the Hotel Elcano Reservation Manager according to this years contract with Sunwing, Hotel Elcano has arranged for all meals to be buffet unless the hotel does not have many guests on specific days then it will be Set Menu. I told the Reservation Manager that my contract with Sunwing is still the same indicating lunch and dinner buffet or set menu. I even had a copy of my contract with me of what is included in my all inclusive package that I purchased through Sunwing. I was told by the Reservation Manager that it was Sunwing responsibility to inform their customers of the change and I would have to speak to Sunwing. So I made a complaint with Sunwing Representative onsite in Acapulco and I was told I have to speak with Guest Services Desk at the resort, since this is internal resort information that has to be managed with them. What a disappointment! This really ruined my enjoyment of my stay at Hotel Elcano. Hotel Elcano also changed their Dinner Hours which was only available from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Sunwing website indicated the Dinner hours are from 16:30 to 22:00. The limited Dinner Hours set by Hotel Elcano for Sunwing guests became a big inconvenience for me. Because of the limited two hour time frame to have Dinner at the hotel denied me the opportunity to arrange other activities in the evening to enjoy in Acapulco. Whoever is familiar with Sunwing knows who is at fault and I know there were other complaints at other resorts in Acapulco with similar situations having problems getting what they paid for. I feel though that Hotel Elcano could of rectified the situation at the moment since this was my third visit to their hotel.
