This hotel is located on Chaweng Beach, very close to the airport. I was quite apprehensive before arriving, not knowing what to expect. But once I got there, I realized I made the right choice. The hotel is beautiful. We booked a room in the same building as the front desk, and they upgraded us to a king-size bed plus a small bed. The restaurant and villa rooms are across the street, offering breakfast with a stunning sea view every day. After breakfast, you can just grab a lounge chair and enjoy the incredible scenery, sitting there facing the ocean all day long. Most of the guests are from Europe and America. The front desk staff and restaurant servers are all very enthusiastic and helpful, answering every question. Room cleaning is also quick and thorough. The hotel offers massages at reasonable prices, and the pasta, burgers, pizzas, and drinks at the restaurant are all delicious and moderately priced. The only thing to note is that the road leading from the main street to the hotel is a bit steep with uphill and downhill sections, which can be a bit tiring if you're pulling luggage.

It was really great time. Large rooms with new equipment. Great pool and sun beds. Tasty breakfast with coffee from coffee machines and seaview. Friendly staff. Nice cocktails. Hotel offer transfer to central lamai and back, also you could rent a bike in hotel and pay by card on checkout The only disappointment is soundproof from the road nearby the hotel. Sleeping rooms located not far from the main road, so you hear every vehicle on the road, some of them are very noisy. Thank you for this great week

I am delighted! Nice, cozy place. The staff is super polite, like in a luxury hotel. There is a swimming pool. The room was very comfortable, smelled nice. The only thing was that there was an unpleasant strange smell in the bathroom. And maybe the room could be painted a little. And I was a little upset that they changed the roofs, they are not like in the photo in the description, I really like this natural design. There is a refrigerator, umbrella, water, air conditioning. The beach is not far away. I was very pleased. I recommend!

Super friendly staff, and they were very hospitable and willing to help with anything. The airline misplaced my bag, and when it arrived at the hotel on a later date, the reception called me straight away to let me know that it had arrived. The restaurant served a good variety of tasty food at a very reasonable price. My only criticism is that I think the air conditioning unit in my room needed a bit of maintenance: it took a long time to cool the room, which is not ideal in Thailand! Overall, I had a pleasant stay here and felt it was a fair price for what was offered.

We chose a family room with a bunk bed for the child, but for some reason, this type of room was 2.5 times more expensive than a standard one. It was difficult to adjust the air conditioning so it wouldn't blow directly onto the bed. They only provided a maximum of 4 bottles of 0.5L water per day, which wasn't enough for us, so we had to buy more. The cleaning was good, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. The pool was also nice. Breakfast was a buffet for 250 baht, but the selection was small, although it's a good option if you eat a lot. There are many cafes, a shop, and a very good beach nearby.

A nice resort at its peak, but now quite run down and old. Had some issues with water in the shower and the walls and furniture show a lot of wear. Could not find a hairdryer either. However, it was cheap, the room was large, bed comfortable, pool is nice. Room had balcony. And you can walk across the street to Hyatt Regency and have food at their beach club, maybe even pool, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was good for my short stay purposes and close to the airport too.

Excellent vacation at a great hotel. The sand on the beach is fine, like powder. The attentive hotel staff set up sun loungers, and there are enough for everyone. It's only 30 meters from the room to the beach. We didn't even bother with slippers. Each bungalow has its own foot wash tap. Breakfast is served by the sea. The menu varies (but it's not a buffet). There's a central store a 5-minute walk away, and a nightclub nearby.

Loved my stay here, probably one of my favourite hotels in Thailand so far. The hotel is so beautiful, and surprisingly quiet given how close it is to the beach and main strip in Lamai. The on-site services were convenient and affordable. I didn't eat in the restaurant but there are so many restaurants nearby to choose from. The staff were super friendly and approachable. The rooms are very beautiful and clean, everything is perfect, and the private terrace with a bathtub and shower is simply superb! They gave us complimentary capsule coffee and a selection of interesting teas. Everything seemed fresh and new. Daily cleaning. The grounds are very beautiful, with fish swimming around. We were delighted! The sun loungers and pool are superb, the sand is yellow and very coarse. The sea became a bit cloudy after lunch, with seaweed washing up, and it immediately became deep. The beach is generally calm and quiet, with few people; this part of Koh Samui is apparently quieter than other beaches. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and you can walk to the market and shops. Renting a bike is ideal; there's a rental shop right next to the hotel. If you want to explore the neighboring beaches, take a taxi, which is expensive. Breakfast is simple, but everything is delicious and beautifully presented. Everyone tries their best. There's a spa on site, but we haven't been there, so I can't comment on that. The restaurant is a bit pricey, and I can't comment on the food, but overall it's fine. We would be happy to return to the hotel, it’s a great place if you want to relax in peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle.

What a pleasant surprise! This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at during our Chinese New Year trip to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. While it's not a Banyan Tree, the hotel's service, rooms, and food were all excellent. We had all our meals at the hotel, and even though it's halfway up a mountain, there's absolutely no need to bring your own food. The hotel restaurant serves delicious and affordable dishes; we paid less than 100 RMB per person. I highly recommend the Pad Thai – it's fantastic! Breakfast is à la carte, with tea, coffee, and eggs prepared in various ways. There are also poolside activities with an instructor leading aerobics. You can just lie on a beach chair and gaze at the sea, and our room balcony also faced the ocean. The spa was very reasonably priced. The room was huge; the tatami area in the living room could easily sleep three more people, haha. Besides needing a taxi to go anywhere, everything else was perfect. It's a great option if you're staying in Koh Samui for a longer period and want to pair it with a high-end hotel, or if it's your first time in Koh Samui and you plan on taking island excursions. During Chinese New Year, it felt like it was mostly foreigners, with very few Chinese guests. The front desk staff and servers were all very nice, always ready to pick us up with a buggy or help with luggage. We were even greeted with towels and tea upon arrival – the service was absolutely superb!

On the plus side, the hotel grounds are absolutely stunning, both morning and evening, and always spotless. The rooms are large and unique. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi; you can use it, but the pump is very noisy. Breakfast comes with a gorgeous view. The selection isn't huge, but you'll definitely find something to eat. The hotel is located away from all the entertainment, but if you have a motorbike, it's a 5-7 minute ride to the center. Be prepared to walk a bit further to swim, as there are many rocks near the hotel and it's almost always low tide.

I have stayed at Lub d several times and recently spent a full week here. Overall, my stay was smooth and enjoyable, as always, and I truly appreciate the social atmosphere and the location. However, this time I was disappointed with the late check-out experience. On a previous stay, I was kindly allowed a late check-out until 3 pm at no extra cost. This time, I was told there is a strict policy and was charged 500 baht per hour, which added up quickly. I understand that policies can change and that complimentary options are not guaranteed. Still, as a returning guest, I expected a bit more flexibility or at least a more considerate approach. Because of this experience, I have to lower my rating.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It’s a bit smaller and more peaceful, with fewer people, which made the atmosphere really relaxing. I truly enjoyed being there every single day. All the staff were quite young and incredibly friendly, always making us feel welcome. The breakfast had a smaller selection, but everything you need was there and it was always fresh and enjoyable. The bed was honestly a 10/10 – so comfortable that it was hard to leave it. The pool is large and beautiful, but the room facilities are just so-so. Breakfast was decent, and the front desk staff who checked us in was very polite, even offering to help with our luggage when we left. However, the executive lounge dining experience was poor. They didn't proactively offer to take our orders, only mentioning we could order after we had already finished eating. What's more, they asked to see our passports – not mandatory, but who brings their passport to a restaurant? Asking such a question is truly unreasonable and unnecessary, especially since you sent us a welcome letter inviting us to use the executive lounge. If it were truly required, it should have been stated in the letter.

The hotel is quite old, but it has beautiful grounds and lush, tropical plants. The breakfasts are decent, the pools are clean, and the staff is attentive. The squirrels near the restaurant are adorable! The sea and beach are simply stunning, and there were always enough sun loungers. The plumbing in the room was fine. Now for the downsides: The sun loungers and their mattresses are very old. The bed linen also looks quite worn. The room is a bit dark, and the air conditioning blows directly onto the beds, making it impossible to sleep with it on. The dishes in the restaurant are also dated, which was unpleasant. There's also not enough lighting in the evenings, even on the hotel grounds. On my last day, it rained, and I slipped and fell on the tiles; luckily, I didn't break anything. We stayed in room A06, which had direct pool access. However, even in these rooms, which are the furthest from the bar, you can still hear noise from the neighboring bar at night. If you're a light sleeper, this might be uncomfortable. The planes weren't really an issue; they don't fly by that often. I'd like to address parents separately: unsupervised children in the pool were behaving terribly – screaming, teasing, and swearing – all right outside our rooms. Their parents paid no attention, making it impossible to relax in our room or on the terrace. Overall, though, I recommend the hotel because of its location and proximity to the sea.

Two trees in the courtyard, 38 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and the pool water was probably not even 25 degrees Celsius – too cold to really get in. The pool has a jacuzzi button; I suggest turning it on a few times to circulate the water, otherwise, it's just full of fallen leaves and dead bugs. The view isn't a genuine sea view either, mostly just mudflats, and there were people constantly fishing, so privacy was a concern. We were extremely disappointed with the room. The famous 'Moon' restaurant no longer serves breakfast, only dinner. Breakfast is now at 'Height', which is indeed a pure sea-view restaurant. It's newly renovated and has a slight new-furniture smell, but the view is decent, though not as distinctive as 'Moon'. There are no changing rooms or restrooms by the infinity pool, only towels are provided. There's no drink service either. The pool at 'Moon' has drink service but no towels. How to put it? The facilities are excellent, but the management and service can't keep up. For instance, the infinity pool actually has a jacuzzi, but because the supporting facilities are lacking, hardly anyone uses it. If it weren't for an expat lady who had stayed there for several nights telling me about the 'surf' button, I wouldn't have known about such a great feature. Of course, there are good aspects too. Breakfast is really good. The night before, we ordered room service and, oh my, it was the worst Thai food I've ever had. So, I was surprised that the quality and variety of breakfast were actually quite impressive, comparable to a leading hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to two main beaches. There's also a free happy hour at 5:30 PM, and the minibar is well-stocked. Villa guests receive a 10,000 THB credit per room per night, which can be used at restaurants, spas, etc. Overall, considering these perks and benefits, a sea-view villa at over 3,000 THB per night is still great value for money on Koh Samui. If beachfront villas were priced according to their view like at Conrad, I believe customer satisfaction would be even better.

Rated location a 5/5, not because it is just a doorstep away from popular night markets, or just beside a beach, or the steep slope up to the villa, but because of the amazing view point it provides and the quiet sanctuary we are looking for in a retreat! The resort does offer free shuttles to areas in coral cove and (our favourite) crystal bay, which is great. Service (receptionist through WhatsApp, and drivers, cleaning) was very prompt and fuss free. Room was spacious and comfortable, facilities (eg bathroom, jacuzzi) were clean. The furniture in the villa was obviously old, and the cupboards didn't open well. The location of the rooms is not convenient. If someone goes to the toilet, then you can only go from the nursery to the kitchen through the pool area. The lighting was quite dim, and there was no desk chair. The pool is clean, towels were changed every day and bottled water was provided. The breakfast is good. You could order a shuttle bus to the beach or the store for free. P.S. Review: A Beautiful, Design-Led Oasis in Fisherman’s Village We recently stayed at the Hansar Samui, and it is truly a beautiful property with a thoughtful design. The location is perfect—just a short, pleasant stroll away from Fisherman’s Village, making it easy to explore the local area while still feeling like you have a quiet retreat to return to. The Highlights Dining Experience: The breakfast was a standout. I particularly appreciated having eggs made fresh to order; there is nothing worse than pre-cooked, rubbery eggs left under heat lamps, so this was a huge bonus for me. The Vibe: The swimming pool is lovely, and the beach is kept very clean. The hotel maintains a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of background music. Service & Little Touches: The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved the ”turn-down” service around 5:00 PM, where housekeeping brought little chocolates and water—an adorable touch that made us feel looked after. Facilities: The gym is clean and well-maintained. Crucially for those working remotely, the Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable enough for me to take Zoom meetings without any issues. Room Design: The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning balconies and views. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the large rainfall shower. Room Comfort & Maintenance We did have a significant issue with the bed. The mattresses are very soft, which didn't suit us at all as my husband has a bad back. It made sleeping quite difficult. However, the staff were wonderful and tried their best to accommodate us; they helped remove the mattress so we could sleep on the wooden base with just the mattress topper. While not ”luxury” comfort, it was much better for his back than the soft mattress. We also had a few issues with a temperamental toilet flush, but to the hotel's credit, maintenance was very prompt in coming to fix it each time. Dining & Logistics We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, ordering the Massaman curry and Chicken Panang. While the food was edible, it was just ”okay”—we were perhaps expecting a bit more given how high the quality of breakfast was. That said, the view from the restaurant in the evening is spectacular, and they occasionally have lovely entertainment. One small hiccup occurred when we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to the pier for our trip to Koh Phangan. The driver unfortunately dropped us at the wrong port. We had to quickly catch a Grab to the correct one, but luckily we made it just in time for our ferry. Overall Despite a few minor glitches, this was a wonderful stay. The aesthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, and the professionalism of the staff ensures that any issues are handled quickly. I would definitely recommend Hansar for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxed stay in Samui!

Another Amari disappointing stay. first was amari hua hin and 2nd is this hotel. stayed in amari koh samui for 4nights, we just got back from koh samui a few days ago. location wise sure cant deny that, it's by the beach front, 5 mins drive away from central koh samui mall and walking from the night life but so does other resorts around the area. when you get to the hotel specially after paying so much per night and to be classified as a 5 star hotel, you expect a good service, a 5 star service. Specially when the first point of contact to the customer service is the front staffs, however very disappointing. Most, if not all of the staffs doesnt seem to smile at all. We arrived early so we had lunch first and sure they managed to give us earlier check in at almost 2pm, their check in is at 3pm. we let it go perhaps we were just too tired and sensitive as we just arrived in koh samui and it was humid, however, throughout our stay their customer service was absolutely lacking. VERY LACKING. specially a few staffs driving the buggy service, we even had an accident one time when we were on our way back to the room, one of the driver drove so fast, THEY ALL DRIVE REALLY FAST, and he rammed onto one of the on coming buggy, i was holding my baby so tight. luckily nothing happened to us. same buggy driver who was had a grumpy look the entire stay and we saw him throwing luggages on to the buggy instead of handling them with care. so when you are taking a buggy, tell them to drive slow. the room, we booked a connecting room, which was a mistake. booking 2 rooms would have been cheaper but anyhow, the room was not clean at all, the bathtub was moldy the floors felt dirty and there were alot of mosquitos every single day. first day we arrived we killed 10 mosquitos in one room whats up with that. breakfast had good selections, they have 3 pools around the resorts as it is a big resort best one is the one over looking the beach, kid friendly pool. they have kids room, not that big just a small room.. anyway overall would i come back here in Amari Koh Samui, absolutely NOT. Would i recommend amari koh samui, absolutely NOT. if you want to stay in a beach front, there are alot of beach front resorts near amari and around the area check that out.. they did something nice from my baby;s birthday, decorated the mirror and gave cake so i appreciated that. with kids i would recommend hyatt koh samui, they are friendlier to kids and service is top notch. we moved there after amari THANK GOODNESS

Excellent hotel, great location and very quiet for evenings and overnight noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink were a little expensive on site, but local shops and markets around. only 10/15 mins walk to Fishermans market. Over all a great stay! The beach sunbeds were always quiet and didn’t have to fight for sun loungers around the pool either as there are 3 pools and 1 is adult only. The rooms are a very good size plenty of space and very large balconies. The rooms were equipped with everything we could need. The only flaw would be the over head shower wasn’t cleaned of lime scale meaning the holes were blocked up and they weren’t letting out water well. The gardens were beautiful and the walk to the seafront breakfast was something I won’t forget. Very tranquil and peaceful. Another positive was no boats around in the sea and the sea is sectioned off with floaty rope to ensure it is safe and children are safe too. Plenty of on site activities for children and adults.

Overall, this hotel is very good. From the moment we walked in, the staff asked us to beat a drum at the entrance, symbolizing good luck. While waiting to check in, they gave us blessing ropes, showing the hotel's thoughtful touches. The staff were very service-oriented, especially one girl with a very kind smile. She often waved us off as we left and waited until we got into the car, which was incredibly heartwarming. The style and facilities of the hotel room were excellent. It had a courtyard-style balcony, and the bathroom was quite large with a good-sized soaking tub; it was generally very comfortable. However, all the rooms we booked were on the second floor, which was inconvenient for the elderly in our group due to daily stairs. Moreover, on our first day, the room below us was a pool access room, and they were noisy from the afternoon until past midnight. I called the front desk to complain at 9 PM, and they immediately sent staff to address it, but the noise started up again later. Closer to midnight, I messaged Trip.com to communicate the issue. The next day, a staff member found me during breakfast to apologize for the behavior of the guests downstairs and offered to change our room to a different type that day. I was very satisfied with the hotel's ability to resolve problems. If you need anything at the hotel, you can call the front desk at any time, including requesting a buggy to the restaurant and beach. The hotel property has many slopes, and it's quite hot, so walking isn't ideal. The beach is beautiful, and there are many free water activities. My child spent one day kayaking and another day paddleboarding. The hotel's breakfast was a semi-buffet, semi-à la carte style. The variety wasn't small, but the overall quality was average.

Service is quite bad in all restaurants except 2 person: B and, unfortunately, don’t remember a girl’s name who was serving us after check-out in the bar. Also, we were going to next FS property in check out date and wanted a late check-out. How normally it works in real 5* property: you check out around 10 and go to any free villa on island till late check-out (they had free villas that day). And here we needed to wait 2 hours in the bar. Of course, I won’t choose this place again as it’s not you are expected when you know how it normally works in real good property.

Don’t go there if you want a quiet time with relaxing pool feeling.   Location is nice, even if there is no beach during high tide. Rooms are spacious. Pick up from airport didn’t work, check in was complicated and time consuming. And the music is so loud, no nap at the pool sunbed possible, talking is difficult. And when I went to DJ and manager to ask for less volume nothing changed. And be aware to consume per person 2500THB on weekends for a sunbed. Monday to Friday it’s for free.

At first glance, the price seems like a great deal for a villa. However, after checking in, it became clear that the lower cost comes with compromises in detail. The soundproofing is a major issue—not just from the adjacent bathrooms, but from the entire space. Conversations and noises from the hallway are loud and clear, creating an overall lack of privacy and comfort. The staff are friendly, but their performance needs improvement. In particular, the front desk could communicate more effectively, as unclear information led to confusion. This place might suit budget-conscious travelers, but those seeking a quieter and more refined experience should consider other options.

Really unique and pretty hotel. The rooms are really interesting and I love the reading statues in the garden. The breakfast at the Page is great, really relaxing atmosphere and despite being in the central hub area it’s quiet at night. Really convenient to walk around and go to restaurants, massage houses and shops.

Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is one of those places that stays with you. What really makes the difference is the people. The service is excellent, but more importantly, it feels sincere. The staff are genuinely kind, always smiling, always present, and somehow they manage to make everything feel easy and natural. You never feel rushed or overlooked, just quietly taken care of. Special thanks to ”mamy” the fruit lady at breakfast that is a pure expression of joy and the Yoga and Muay Thai instructor. The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, but without feeling stiff or overdesigned. Everything works, everything feels comfortable, and there’s a calmness to the whole place that makes you slow down almost without noticing. Rooms, pools, spa, restaurants, all of it feels thoughtfully done. The setting is something special. Surrounded by greenery and right on a peaceful bay, it feels private, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. You hear the sea, the wind in the trees, and very little else. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax. Nothing here feels forced or flashy. It’s just consistently good, warm, and balanced. A place you leave feeling better than when you arrived. Can't wait to be back to this special place.

Lamai Beach Koh Samui|6.01km from city center
We stayed for two nights with our kids, and having just come from the Conrad, we naturally had some comparisons to make. 1. **Location:** The hotel's location is excellent, nestled in a private bay, which provides a fantastic environment and superb overall privacy. The bay is calm, perfect for swimming, and the water temperature is wonderfully warm. There are also many activities available, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and snorkeling. 2. **Rooms:** All the rooms are villas with private pools. After a day of swimming in the sea, you can enjoy a swim in your room's pool in the evening. Although the hotel has been open for a long time, there are no signs of aging; it's very well-maintained. The bathroom was particularly impressive, with a quadruple shower head setup that could accommodate three people at once, and the water pressure was excellent. 3. **Service:** You can call for a buggy anytime, and it usually arrives in about 5 minutes. Anna was our butler, and she was wonderful, providing personalized butler service. She could handle all our bookings and requests. 4. **Dining:** Breakfast was just average. However, we had dinner at the Michelin-recommended Thai restaurant, and the food was delicious. You need to ask your butler to make a reservation for you at least a day in advance. Overall, we were very satisfied with Banyan Tree and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The hotel's excellent location, essentially between two beaches, is ideal. The main drawback, in our opinion, is the lack of beach chairs and umbrellas on Chaweng Noi Beach from this hotel. Guests are forced to either walk to the main Chaweng Beach or wander around Chaweng Noi without an umbrella.

There were plenty of shops, cafes and a shopping center near the hotel which made it convenient. Taxis outside the door but need to negotiate the price.  Staff in reception were helpful. The room was large with complementary tea and coffee.  The only downside was the lift. You had to walk up one flight of stairs to get to the lift and then down half a flight to get to your room. Fortunately the reception staff helped us with our luggage.

A wonderful hotel with great value for money! The rooms are spacious and very clean. There is a separate set of towels for the pool and the beach. Yes, the furniture is not new, but it is good quality. The balcony is spacious, and we had a lovely view of greenery, palm trees, and even a field with a real buffalo 😊 The hotel staff are very friendly, and laundry service can be arranged at the reception desk. There is a Top’s supermarket nearby, and if you walk uphill from the hotel, you’ll find a place called Food Corner, which we highly recommend. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away, which is very convenient. Since Chaweng has very few beach access points due to dense beachfront development, this is a big plus. Some reviews mention that the hotel has its own sunbeds on the beach, although we didn’t use them. The main street is also about a 5-minute walk away, or you can easily get there by tuk-tuk.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Chaweng! The location is super convenient – Central Festival, shops, cafes, restaurants, and the beach are all nearby. For the price, it's one of the best options on Samui. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. A big bonus is being able to use the secure parking at Central Festival, which is really handy if you're traveling by car or scooter. There's a good co-working space for getting work done, an on-site cafe, and a swimming pool. The vibe is modern and youthful. The only downside I can mention is the absence of a toothbrush and toothpaste in the room, which even more budget-friendly hotels usually provide. Otherwise, everything is great. Excellent value for money, quality, and location. I would gladly stay here again!

The hotel is clean, despite of its old-fashioned look. The room is comfortable (but outside noise comes in easily). The only downside is I gotthe room on building 3 and there's no lift in the building and my room was on the 4th fl. So I needed to carry my luggage up all the way by myself. If you would like to book and have big luggages, you may need to reconsider (or request for the lower floor.) I'm not sure whether there is a lift available in its other buildings.

Excellent hotel right on the beach. The furniture is a bit dated and there aren't many sun loungers, but everything else is great, and the staff are friendly. The room has a gorgeous view, and the grounds are beautiful. There are plenty of cafes nearby, it's a 20-minute walk to the night market, and there are laundromats and a 7/11 close by. The entry into the water from the beach is comfortable, and the beach itself is clean and uncrowded. Breakfasts are decent; not much variety, but there's enough to choose from (different types of eggs, fruit, toast – but no porridge, cheese, and the sausages are spicy). In the room, there's not much light (just one light in the hallway and bedside lamps), and there aren't many power outlets, none near the bed. Housekeeping is daily. They don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste. The towels are a bit thin but not a big deal. The hotel is consistent with a 3-star rating.
