Ton Sai Bay Phi Phi Islands|1.55km from city center
A porter met us at the port and kindly carried our bags to the hotel, which was a nice and welcoming start to our stay. The rooms were as described; however, the hotel itself feels quite dated and is in need of general maintenance and updating. There was a noticeable mold smell in the room initially, though this disappeared once the air conditioning was turned on.
Breakfast was enjoyable, with good coffee and made-to-order eggs. The private beach was a highlight—quiet, calm, and never crowded. The pool water itself was clean, but unfortunately the surrounding area was littered with cigarette butts. While we were relaxing at the pool, another family began smoking. We informed the front desk, but no action was taken, which was disappointing, especially as there were visible no-smoking signs.
The view from the fourth floor is truly spectacular. We did have one uncomfortable moment when housekeeping entered our room from the deck around 9 a.m. while we were packing. We greeted her immediately; she apologised and left. There was a Koi pond in the main lobby was sad as the fish in the side pond had insufficient water to swim upright.
This hotel could be amazing. Its peaceful location on an otherwise busy island, along with the dramatic cliffside setting and pool deck, gives it enormous potential. Unfortunately, it feels like the property has passed its peak, leaving a sense of missed opportunity rather than what it could still become.From€76

Loh Ba Kao Bay Phi Phi Islands|2.37km from city center
The facility was great and it was beautiful and it did offer a number of amenities but I will be honest the service wasn’t the greatest. I felt as if as a paying customer I was constantly being treated like I was a burden for asking for things like “extending my say” I don’t want to generalize and say it was all the workers there was a man named “Chan” who had a very passive aggressive attitude with me and other people there. I understand that it’s a 5 star resort and it is on the pricier side but it constantly felt like they were also trying to capitalize on the necessities you’ll need because it is on an isolated island. (Word of advice go to the local village for things like pharmacy needs, cosmetic and booking boats and excursions it’s 10 times cheaper.) At the resort they will do things like charge nearly 30$ for a bottle of sunscreen at the gift shop because they know you’ll need it. Going back to this I tried to extend my stay with them and Chan told me I was going to have to pay double the original price if I wanted to stay another night I quickly went online and saw that it was half the price that he quoted and just immediately felt quite put off and like he was doing whatever possible to milk us financially when we are already being generous and willing customers. I was in a group of four people and everyone in my group had stomach issues after eating at the breakfast buffet so that was a problem as well. We were also not told that on the resort is a mosque and you will be woken up to the call of prayer frequently. I have no problem with people exercising there religious traditions I would just like a forewarning about being woken at 5AM to hear the it.From€211

This is a fabulous place to stay. It’s tucked away in the corner of a beautiful beach so it’s peaceful and chilled but still walking distance (5mins) to the main shops, cafes, bars and harbour of PhiPhi.
The bamboo huts are very solid and appeared to be really well sealed so no bugs getting in and excellent at holding the cool air from the air conditioner inside. Very comfy bed, soft bed linen, good pillows, bathrobes, bottled water and good quality toiletries all provided. Gorgeous bathroom with great showers.
Welcome drink and snacks provided in the room.
The breakfast buffet was incredible- so much choice and everything was delicious. We also ate lunch here one day and dinner here one night and both were delicious,
The swim up pool bar was a real treat with happy hour 2 for one cocktails from 3-5 as well as delicious smoothies ice cream and made to order sushi available.
The pool is stunning of with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Pool towels supplied. Also possible to hire canoes and stand up paddle boards to take out on the bay. (1 hour included for free for all guests).
The staff were lovely at all times. A delight to deal with at all times.
Lastly yes you can hear the noise from the bar across the bay in the evenings from 10 to 2:30 am but the resort supplies ear plugs and we all slept perfectly fine every night.
If you are sensitive to noise maybe bring some noise blocking ear plugs but don’t let that be the reason you miss out on staying in this stunning resort.From€128

A lovely hotel on a beautiful and very quiet part of Phi Phi. If you are looking for somewhere to totally unwind, a romantic holiday or somewhere quiet for the family then this is for you!
It's away from the main nightlife of Phi Phi and there are no taxis only taxi boats. I don't think they would go at night.
There was some very quiet and gentle musical entertainment most nights.From€101

Ton Sai Bay Phi Phi Islands|1.78km from city center
1. The room hygiene was good; every corner was clean, and the bedding, towels, bath towels, and beach towels were all spotless. However, the room itself was rundown. Some bath towels had torn edges but were still given to guests.
2. The room decor was worse than that of a roadside motel. But the mattress was quite comfortable, and I slept well for these three nights, so I didn't feel too unsettled.
3. I booked a partial sea-view room, and the view was great. Room 302.
4. Getting in and out of the room daily was difficult; either you waited for a car or walked up and down a super steep hill. If you needed a buggy for transport, it was common to wait 10-15 minutes during peak check-in or check-out times.
5. The hotel's included breakfast was incredibly bad. I mean, *incredibly* bad! My 8-year-old child was charged extra, and three breakfasts cost 1200 THB (approximately 270 CNY), so paying 90 CNY for such poor breakfast was unacceptable.
6. The hotel only accepted cash and credit cards. Alipay and WeChat Pay were not accepted. While WeChat and Alipay can usually scan Thai merchant QR codes, this hotel's Thai payment QR code was for a private account, so WeChat and Alipay couldn't be used, or it would require direct transfer to a private account.
7. Service was almost non-existent. Other hotels offered shuttle services to nearby beaches or Tonsai. This hotel offered nothing but one longtail boat transfer on arrival day and one on departure day.
8. The fire dance and light show mentioned on Trip.com were nowhere to be found.
9. The two swimming pools were very small. You could reach the end in half a breath.
10. Let me talk about the most disappointing aspect. The beach in front of the hotel was in terrible condition – coarse sand, many rocks, a steep slope, and a very short stretch of beach. During the day, it was packed with people sunbathing. You had to queue for the two swings. The coral bleaching was severe. It didn't offer the conditions for snorkeling right outside the door. The shark point was a certain distance from the shore and dangerous to swim to at low tide. At high tide, it was a longtail boat route, making it even more dangerous.
The Lomudi Beach behind the hotel was long and gentle, requiring a 5-10 minute uphill and downhill walk from the hotel. Similarly, the coral bleaching was very severe and heartbreaking to see. Our family of three all brought snorkeling gear, but only my dad used it. My child and I just wandered along the shore.
Summary: If this hotel cost 500 CNY, it would be okay to stay. But if it's 1500 CNY like I paid, definitely don't book it. It's completely overpriced and was the worst and most boring three days of my 8-day, 7-night Phuket trip.
I went to Long Beach on Koh Phi Phi specifically for snorkeling opportunities without needing to go out on a boat, like in Koh Lipe, where you find starfish, sea urchins, stingrays, clownfish, various colorful fish, sea dragons, giant clams, and countless jellyfish along the coast.
But Koh Phi Phi didn't have any of that. The same rocky and coral environment had very little marine life. The color of the sea also didn't justify the effort of coming here.
Furthermore, eating and shopping on Long Beach were very inconvenient. You either ate the bad hotel food or paid 200 THB per person round trip by boat to Tonsai. Eating and drinking in Tonsai were also very expensive! And it was just the same old stuff.
The most fun part of the entire Koh Phi Phi was the 7-Eleven complex!!!From€74

Ton Sai Bay Phi Phi Islands|0.65km from city center
Upon arrival, things got off to a bit of a rough start. Room 210, while advertised with a sea view, had a very limited one, which wasn't a huge deal. The most unpleasant part was the leaky pipe by the toilet. My request to switch rooms with the front desk wasn't successful. After adjusting my mindset and accepting it, it was fine—the water was clean anyway, and I was there to relax, so no need to dwell on it.
However, I do recommend the hotel renovates soon, otherwise, it's a waste of such a beautiful location.
Summary:
1. The facilities are indeed old. The exterior looks okay, but the interior is too basic. Friends accustomed to five-star hotels might find it hard to adapt. I had to comfort my child and convince myself, but once I accepted it, it was fine.
2. If you want a true, unobstructed sea view room, be sure to communicate with the hotel beforehand. Only rooms starting with '1' will do. The higher the room number, the higher up the hill it is, so be prepared for a cardio workout every time you head back to your room.
3. The service was generally good. I didn't feel any prejudice or mistreatment towards Chinese guests. The porters who helped with luggage were the best.
4. Cat lovers will overlook all the negatives and fall in love with this place, just like my son. He initially complained about everything, but after bribing many cats with cat food to hang out on our balcony, he was very sad to leave.From€32

When you arrive at the pier, look for staff in red uniforms holding the hotel's name; they can help with your luggage. 👍 The room had neatly folded elephant towels. 👍 The air conditioning in the room was quite noisy, and I could hear the music from the bar outside. It's a non-refundable booking, so make sure to consider that carefully 🙉 especially if you book an expensive room, as there might be cheaper ones available later.From€45

Here's a short review in English based on your notes:
---
This hotel is beautiful and tranquil, set in a tropical environment with many open-air areas. You need to go outside to reach the reception, restaurant, or bathroom from your room. They have done a fantastic job of combining luxury with a natural, jungle-like setting—something I've never seen before. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good. If you're looking for a more exotic nature experience, this place is ideal. However, if you prefer a more standard/business stay, it might not be the best option.From€962

The location is nice with the great view from the reception, at least. We got a room with no view, though. They provide service when they can deliver baggage from the pier to the reception of the hotel (see the attached picture). You have to be prepared to climb stairs. There were around 150 stairs to our room. However, the view is worth it. Overall, the room is pretty big with all the necessary things. They also delivered our suitcases to the pier on the checkout date. Good place for the good price! We had a moonshine and asked for the room with a good view, however, they didn't provide us that type of room.From€29

Our room was on the first floor, with only a glass door for privacy, but luckily it was quiet with not many people around. We chose to stay on the island for two nights so we could easily head out to sea the next day. The hotel is super close to the pier, only about a 5-minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel, but you'll need to walk a bit further to find a 7-Eleven. The hotel has a pool; it's not huge, but it's perfectly adequate. The breakfast was decent; the fried rice and fried noodles were delicious. The fried noodles were actually the best I've had during my entire trip to Thailand! Too bad the breakfast menu changes daily. The room wasn't very big, and the water from both the sink and shower was seawater—the quality wasn't great, it was really yellow and salty. Definitely bring your own shower filter!From€57

This was a really cute bungalow on the beach, which added to our experience of staying on Phi Phi. However, the bed was rock hard and the air con kept switching itself off in the night so we kept waking up sweating! The light from it was also really bright so I had to wear an eye mask to sleep. You can also hear the whole island from your hut, and a lot of the Thai residents were working at night nearby, so it was very noisy and required ear plugs! There were lots of little bugs in the woodwork mainly, the shower wasn’t great and got the bathroom very wet. Also, any trips or taxi boats were quite expensive from the woman at reception, we managed to get a 4hr private long tail for 2300baht total. A lot of these things were to be expected, and isn’t too much of a complaint against the resort itself, but something for you to bear in mind when choosing to stay here.From€27

The hotel is located on top of a hill, so you need to take a shuttle bus to get up and down, which takes a few minutes. However, the shuttle only runs once an hour. Breakfast is quite basic; if you add it on separately, it costs 350 Thai Baht, or you can take the shuttle down to town to eat. For the ferry transfers, there are always staff to pick you up and drop you off at the pier, so there's no need to book in advance. I suggest increasing the frequency of the shuttle buses, ideally so they run on demand. The water park was partially open, and the slides were really fast.From€38

The biggest plus is the location. It's a 400m walk from the pier. The room is average, nothing fancy. Small but cozy. The bathroom is also tiny, you can't really move around if there are two people. I have to complain with two manager just to have a simple breakfast. The hotel’s brochure pictures look great, but they don’t convey the unpleasant reality of the first-floor rooms. There was a strong moldy odor, and when we checked other rooms on the same floor with the hotel staff, all of them had the same smell. Only when we tried a room on the upper floor was the air fresh. The new room was at a lower rate, but the hotel only agreed to a partial refund, claiming we weren’t entitled to a full one due to their cancellation policy 🤨. This was very frustrating, as our request to change rooms was due to poor conditions, not by choice for any other reason.From€103

I recently stayed at The Hotel and it was a delightful experience! The staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient. My room was spacious, spotless, and offered a stunning city view. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The dining options were excellent, with delicious meals and attentive service. Highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay!From€52

The room was nice but dated and needs a renovation. The bathroom was pretty poor though with really mouldy shower that leaked all over the floor and a broken toilet seat.
The staff however were brilliant at trying to resolve it but unfortunately couldn't so we came to an alternative arrangement, which was appreciated.
Long beach is nice but a bit quiet and a boat taxi away from most of the bars and restaurants. That's fine for some so just be aware of that.From€44

We selected a waterfront room and it was wonderful. We loved the room and the views. However, we found very uncomfortable that upon arrival there was a topless woman with her boobs out which is really bad for a couple to have that view when looking at the beach - so maybe, since it is a small beach that’s part of the resort, topless or nudity should not be allowed. The service was also impeccable as well as the food. Our tip: place a bucket in front of the front door so we can fill it with water to clean our feet from the beach sand before entering the room. Our room was always full of sand inside. Another long term change that could be considered is the mattress quality - it is quite hard and not so comfortable. Otherwise, everything in this hotel was perfect: food, room, service, super calm, cleanliness, etc. My husband and I would surely come back!From€66

Pros:
- The hotel is located on a separate island, offering a secluded and less crowded environment compared to Ton Sai, which creates a great vacation atmosphere.
- The kittens are adorable.
- The longtail boat is affordable at 1800 baht for 4 hours (though the facilities are basic, no sofa).
Cons:
1. In the first room, the lights flickered and suddenly went out at night, which was quite scary. I recorded many videos of this.
2. The front desk staff's English needs improvement, leading to some communication difficulties.
3. After changing rooms through Trip.com, the air conditioning in the second room leaked, dripping water at night and waking me up. There might have been other small animals in the room as I heard noises while sleeping.
4. The cleanliness of every room was poor. The bedding was old, the mosquito net had many holes, and there were various insects like ants and fleas.
5. The rocky area in front of the hotel is very sharp; remember to bring water shoes when going into the water.
6. Prices are very expensive. Mango sticky rice costs 65 RMB, and a single meal can cost 300-400 RMB.From€57

I'd stayed in Phi Phi North before, but this time I chose Koh Phi Phi Don. The resort is super easy to get to, just a 3-minute walk to the left from the pier. It's a massive resort, and the two cats at the front desk were so gentle and cute! From the comfort of your bed, you're treated to an unbeatable ocean view! Breakfast was incredibly varied and even included plain congee. The pool offers stunning views of Long Beach. It's easy to book longtail boat tours for island hopping right outside the resort. The main street has self-service laundry facilities and a plethora of dining options, plus the 7-Eleven here surprisingly boasts a wider variety of items than those in Bangkok! You can also go scuba diving, and even seniors in their 70s can hike up to Viewpoint 2 for breathtaking panoramic views!From€55

The resort is really a good place to stay and that's why we enjoyed it to the fullest. Their breakfast was an American buffet and it was good. They also took care of my vegetarian and dietary requirements, so the food was enjoyable. Amenities were good too, including the swimming pool, garden, a library and there were different cafes and restaurants where one could enjoy a meal when hungry. You could rent a kayak as well for 300 baht for two hours, which I found a bit unreasonable. The beach outside the resort was really good. Cleaning was not up to the mark as the cleaning staff would leave the used tissues and tea bags as it is on the table if they were not thrown into the basket already. I am not proud of saying that I did not throw them, but if I forgot somehow I would find them in the same place, which was annoying. Anyway, overall it was a great experience.From€62

Super nice Bungalow hotel on Long Beach. The hotel is located on the waterfront in the calm of the center of Koh Phi Phi. it is only 3 minutes by taxi boat (100BHT/pax) from the city center. Ideal hotel to be quiet in the evening and avoid the noise of the festivities in the city center. The hotel has a very good restaurant and a mini Mart if necessary. you can also have a massage. This is the ideal place if you are with children. the hotel does not have a swimming pool. the bungalows are very clean and air-conditioned. they all have an outdoor space. Perfect for families and if you want to stay in a quiet place.From€72

It's just that the ebb tide is too much, it's a bit inconvenient to get wet on board and get off the boat, and it's really hard to carry luggage and climb stairs. I ’m sorry if you do n’t give it! The environment is still very good! It ’s just that I ’m going to board a plane and it ’s not convenient to get wet. Far islands! It's a bit inconvenient to bring children!From€130

This hotel was absolutely spectacular. It's a 2 minute walk from the pier and a 1 minute walk to the beach. There are tons of restaurants and shopping nearby, and has the most incredible views. We booked the deluxe sea view at pier room, and it was absolutely worth the extra money. We got fresh juice upon check in, and the staff were so friendly. It was clean, had great facilities, quiet, and we were able to leave our bags the morning we checked out as we had a tour and didn't have a ferry until the afternoon. 100% staying here next time we're on Koh Phi Phi!From€100

Aside from the expensive dining and the lack of a complimentary shuttle boat, I honestly couldn't find a single fault with this hotel. Before arriving on the island, make sure to manage your ferry schedule carefully. We traveled from Phuket to Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Island. Upon disembarking, we realized the hotel is located in the island's northeast corner, while the pier is in the south. Since there's no land access connecting them, we had to take another boat to reach the hotel. We arrived around 2 PM, and there were plenty of longtail boat taxis available at the pier. A one-way trip to the hotel would cost approximately 1200 THB. Our boatman offered a package deal for 3000 THB, which included transfers and an island-hopping/snorkeling tour.
A tip: try to arrive at Phi Phi Island pier earlier. Otherwise, you might hit low tide at the hotel, and they'll have staff wading through mudflats to carry your luggage – quite a sight, haha! Seriously though, the food at this island hotel is incredibly expensive. The dishes shown in the pictures alone cost us over 2000 THB for two people.From€211

El hotel es lindo pero es demasiado caro para lo que ofrece. La cama es súper dura, y la piscina es pequeñita y tiene demasiado cloro. While the sand isn't the softest (with some rocky areas), the environment is wonderfully peaceful and the water is crystal clear. You can explore the surrounding waters by boat or enjoy snorkeling directly in front of the hotel. At low tide, you'll discover an abundance of coral and fish (just be mindful of sea urchins!). For an additional fee, activities like fishing and deep-sea snorkeling are also available.From€61

This hotel offers cozy bungalows that are a real treat to stay in. Some of them boast stunning views of the bay, which was a highlight of my trip. The grounds are beautifully green and well-kept, adding to the overall charm. The hotel is perched on a slope, though, and in the heat, trekking up to your bungalow can be quite a challenge. One wild moment was when monkeys from the nearby forest climbed onto our balcony, scattered our stuff, and even left a mess on the sunbed! The staff were fantastic, always friendly and helpful. However, the music from the nearby bars was a major downside—it’s loud and makes sleeping tough. This place isn’t for a quiet retreat; it’s perfect for those who want to party at the discos until late!From€29

Cool bungalows on the hill. Great sea view, and the bungalow itself was clean and tidy. Yes, there are gaps in the floor and walls, as mentioned in other reviews, but I didn't encounter any critters or insects. Good water pressure from the shower. I was really impressed that a staff member carried my backpack all the way to the bungalow – that was a nice touch! Be aware that if you're not in good physical shape, the uphill walk might be a bit challenging, as the incline is quite steep. Overall, I really enjoyed it! 👍From€18

The hotel is not bad. We took a family room, and it was the cheapest option on our trip to Thailand (we rented rooms for 100, 200 and 400 dollars per night). I thought I would be disappointed, but everything turned out to be quite decent: no frills, but the room is clean. The air conditioning works, the view from the window is good, there is a swimming pool. Even the food, albeit without cappuccino and Benedict with Hollandaise, is quite satisfactory - you can quickly grab a bite of rice, chicken, omelet and fruit. If you don't like it, there are many cafes nearby to choose from. The place is quiet. The beach is better from the pier (in the corner next to the mountain), but in order to get to the perfect beach with white sand, you need to take a boat (40 minutes by boat) to another part of the island.From€31

I liked the location, only 5 minutes away from the pier, where you arrive with the ferry. So you don’t need any transfer and you can bring your luggage along easily.
The room was clean! But in the bathroom we had a little smell of sewage sometimes. It was minor and definitely durable. But I would just have been a 10/10 without.
So I would still recommend that place and give it a 9/10, especially for that price.From€52
