The security access using the room key card with the elevators made me feel very safe. High speed elevators very smooth and fast. Suite was spacious as advertised. High elevation suite worth the extra cost. The view makes just being in your room an event. Coffee machine with espresso pods, sugar, and fresh cream in the fridge tasted great. Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card. A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been. Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.From$109

Location is King, it’s within walking distance to the Rocks, Circular Quay, Pitt Street Mall, QVB. Walking distance to bus stops, light rail stop and subway., so you can literally spidering out anywhere in Sydney. The room I already check in was a standard room which I reserved, it’s a very nice room, however, the TV was not working and took the engineer over 20 minutes still not able to fix it. Per my request in changing to another room (which I expected to be another standard room), gratefully they offered me a better room on the top floor with a side view of Sydney bridge on the balcony
Most hotels will encourage its guests to leave towels on the rack for environmental reason. Yet they always changed it anyway. And the Radisson Blu Plaza is the one hotel whose house keeping do really leave your towel on the rack. Well done.
Knowledge on tourist attraction varies from one concierge from another. Really see if you are lucky that day. But overall I highly recommend this hotel in terms of service , location, comfort and hospitality
I planned to have a dip in the hotel pool before heading to airport. Yet it’s not possible with a number of kids playing balls and making big splash dive into the pool, making other people using the pool not possible. Security guards were there twice to stop that, yet the moment they left, activities resumed. Hope the parents can be more considerate as it’s not a big pool

The only disappointment was the hotel's price for weekend parking in the hotel's parking station in the building (albeit run and managed by a parking company) is more expensive than the public rate. I first stayed at Sydney Hilton in 2006 and the quality is still of that high standard after many years. It’s always great to meet good people, I always look forward to be welcomed by reception staff. On this occasion, Alisa was exceptional. When I asked for a specific room, which was unavailable, Alisa offered a room upgrade, which came with executive lounge access. This was greatly appreciated, as the Lounge on the 36th floor is one of the highlights of staying at the Hilton. It really did make my stay much more memorable. Well done to reception staff, and Alisa particularly. Good job.

I didn't get breakfast because the waiter refused when I was travelling with the hotel slippers and because my feet hurt not wearing my clogs. Bad and won't be came back!From$213

Business and family travel.
We live in Western Sydney and decided on a night out in the city with some family. My partner works in the city, so convenient hotel location to the office and all other major shops and restaurants. Basically everything at your doorstep. Our room was ready by 12pm so my daughter and I were able to check in which was handy so I could drop off our bags. First time ever for us to have a complimentary mini bar stocked with drinks we like so we took full advantage of that! That's was a lovely surprise, thank you Grace Hotel! We booked a room with 2 double beds so we could push them together so we had a big bed to share with the little one sleeping in between us. Just easier than using a cot. I'd say she's more comfortable.
If we stayed longer we would've made use of the robes, the slippers and the dining.
Not our first time staying at the Grace and definitely won't be our last. Thank you again for the hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel!! 👌 ⭐️👌⭐️👌From$151

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂From$115

Looked like mould on the shower floor and all over the bottom of the shower curtain to the point where we didn't feel comfortable using the shower. Good location, staff were friendly and courteous. Parking can be tricky, but overall a pretty comfortable stay.

Firstly my room was noisy - Really noisy - mainly from car noise from the Eastern Distributor which runs right in front of it. Clearly this is a known issue as they provide earplugs with a little apology (see pic). The fittings are old, the light switches, the bedside clock / radio. There is not a single USB charging port anywhere that I could find. There was a random cheap Bunnings power board hanging out underneath the bedside table. The shower head was loose and sprayed water everywhere while having a shower. I asked for it to be fixed, which it was by the time I returned, but do you think they replaced the saturated bath matt which I had to use to mop up the water? No, of course they didnt. Older people, be warned. The shampoo/conditioner provided have such fine writing that anyone needing more than +1 reading glasses need to find them to figure out which is which- ideally before stepping in the shower. And then need to find them again to figure out how to peel off the completely unnecessary silver seal ... The bed barley fitted between the wall and it was a squeeze to get in the LHS. No late night food nor drink options in or near the hotel. There are a few breakfast options. Probably my own fault for not checking that out.

It even begun before we landed in Sydney with them cancelling our booking due to a water leak in the room they allocated to us. After trying to find alternative accommodation at the last minute we were then advised all was OK. The greeting when we arrived was good and we were shown our room located directly behind the communal kitchen (room 1). Apparently they supplied a continental breakfast each morning with bakery items, cereals, orange juice, coffee but you wouldn't know it because only on one morning of the four we were there we were greeted with leftover crumbs or one lonely croissant. On one morning there was even no milk, coffee or orange juice at all. This place does not have a manned reception which I have no issue with but each time we went downstairs to the bar to ask a question we were treated with distain from the girls working there. The room was spacey but just really poor hygiene and basic....very basic. Then to top it off on our final night the vanity in the bathroom fell off the wall and onto me throwing out all our toiletries and leaving me with a heavy bang on the head. They couldn't fix the problem and instead arranged alternate accommodation at another hotel so we had to pack up our bags and relocate unexpectedly. By the time we got to the other hotel it was 11:15pm and we had to leave the following morning. They didn't even offer us any compensation or at the very least a breakfast voucher considering we had only managed to get something to eat on 1 of the 4 mornings we were there. Just really poor service with little regard to how it impacted us. NEVER AGAIN.

I was here March 2020 with a friend. I had booked two rooms (1 each) and I was disappointed with the receptionist when I approached him about the noise of the room at the front after my first night stay with the idea of asking if I could downgrade my room from the most expensive to one of the smaller ones at the back, but he took everything as personal. His reaction was off the wall, he was so incredibly rude and nasty that I was shaking, I am quite diplomatic but I was surprised, I was thinking 'Do you speak to your Mother like that”, I was floored. My career has been in customer service training, in very difficult cases, this was not difficult and yet he went nuclear. He insisted that they had double glazing. They DO NOT but yes a 2nd pane of glass was added but not true double glazing and it did little to give me a good nights rest. I mentioned that maybe if one was from a big city noise would be no issue, but Im not from Sydney. I hope this person is no longer working for the hotel. He was not a good ambassador for it. I did finally insist on speaking to the manager, which he did not want me to do, who greatly helped with my move. But the scars of this visit, really are still there. My friend never knew about these issues, she arrived the following day, I was not happy to stay here but did so as to move would've caused issue with her. The manager at the time however was professional. Im sure I've seen reviews mentioning this rude staffer but it certainly looks like they are not here now. All I can say is in my experience it was not a good one, and on that I can't recommend it. I have never ever in my decades of traveling been treated by anyone so aggressively, I still fail to understand this entire episode and hope when travel is back I can go to a place where the welcome remains with me for all the right reasons. If this issue had been resolved nicely, calmly like an adult Im sure the rating would be much better..Rooms are small but clean and the back rooms are quieter....

The SCG and SFS are an easy 10 minute stroll away, and buses run into the city and Bondi along Oxford Street every few minutes. The building is full of charm and history, and the rooms have been tastefully renovated and are maintained in spotless condition. The staff are courteous, polite and accomodating.

|1.38km from Moore Park OH! Firstly it is important to note that we chose Oxford House because of its close proximity to St Vincent Hospital. We would normally chose a large chain hotel with the added comforts because, well, who doesn’t like the nicer things when they travel. Oxford house is definitely not your average hotel. Its boutique, artsy, personal feel is felt throughout the entire property. From the second you enter Oxford House, no matter who is at the reception desk, you can guarantee your greeting will be warm and welcoming from the very first encounter. Any interaction with staff thereafter is as warm, friendly and genuinely caring. I read reviews (as you do) prior to our stay and a lot referred to the level of customer service. I, personally like nice linen, a comfortable bed, a good pillow, a pool, view. You know, that sort of thing. Oxford House ticked all my boxes above but it also ticked a box that wasn’t super important prior to this stay. It’s all about the customer service. We loved all the staff but our absolute favourite ladies were Carla and Alisha. Nothing was an effort for Carla and let me tell you, she’s got the skills to get things done. Our trip was complicated with hospital trips several times a day and we were filled with emotion and exhausted . Walking back through those doors of an evening, almost felt like home. Carla was particularly lovely and my 10 year old daughter adored her. By the time we left I felt like I had made a friend. Hotel was wonderful but Carla brought it up that extra level.

In the kitchen, there are cups, cups, spoons and forks, as well as toaster dishwashers. It is great for us to bring Chinese food in Australia. We bought noodles, eggs, and cooked ourselves at a nearby supermarket. The breakfast was awesome. However, the hotel does not provide toothpaste toothbrushes and disposable slippers, only shampoo and bath products. There is also a very close to the city center. The bus stops 5 to 6 to the town hall. There is Woolworth around 500 meters. The disadvantage is that the bathroom door is not moving very well. The water will be hot and cold when you take a bath, and if you don’t need to take a bath Supplies, even if only a little left, it won't add new ones to you the next day.

|1.54km from Moore ParkTBH i stayed over a month, its in a good location and its low cost, apart from that i would avoid it The rooms have few fans no ac no curtains and back onto a main road so its loud, hot and light, as far as i know there is about 8 showers/toilets for 130 guests, the kitchen is an joke and the stove tops bairly work, clothes etc that were in boxes were taken from under my bed and putr into the free/ lost box..even tho they had medication ontop that was MARKED with my name etc. management is nice BUT it doesnt need nice people , it needs people to MANAGE everything my food kept going missing from the fridge and on the last day we caught someone on camera- one of the staff members!... the staff member opperating the camera tried to deny he even knew who it was even tho he had been there 2 months, dont get me wrong the hostel has potential but you gotta sort it out!

|1.6km from Moore ParkEverything was great, the lady who checked me in was very efficient. The only thing was there wasn't any coffee in the the room but thats ok. Parking isn't guarranteed, which could be a worry. You could check in, then go out on business then come back in the evening and not have a parking spot if the hotel was full, even though you pay up front in advance. That could be annoying at the end of a long day. But otherwise all was good and will stay again.

While centrally located, it is a nice and quiet for a good night’s sleep. It is walking distance to almost everything - short walk to nearby bars and restaurants and Central station and a bit further walk to Oxford St or the CBD, or just 40 minutes to the Opera House. The hotel is beautifully designed and finished. The bed and bathroom were very comfortable and the complimentary coffee/pastries/ fruit breakfast is very enjoyable. There is a lovely roof top terrace and an honour snack and drinks bar to enjoy too. Every room is different with clever design to make the most of their size. We stayed in a cosy room (107) and, as the website says, it is snug for a couple! We managed fine and really enjoyed our stay but personally I would have preferred a luggage rack to the sitting chair (which is overly large for a small room). The staff were all welcoming and professional. This is our second stay in a Crystalbrook hotel and both have been excellent.

No sink in the bathroom, had to use the (‘kitchen’) sink in the room, the room was small. The twin bed was small but very comfortable, compare to the price the hotel was worth the price. Located beside the Central Station and we walked to the Opera House, not far. Very easy get to the airport from the CS. This hotel is OK for a shorter stay, but for a longer stay we would prefer an another place.

The bar was buzzing and the staff were very friendly on check-in given I’d booked 10mins earlier on booking.com. They took me to my room and gave me a rundown of the services. While the rooms are old, they are clean and the linen and towels were good quality and the bed and pillows comfortable. It was a hot night and the A/C delivered keeping my peri menopausal at bay. I ordered a delicious meal from the bistro and was able to walk to work very well rested the next morning. I will happily stay there again.

|1.75km from Moore ParkOnly gave 1 star due to not being able to give 0. Black mold over entire bathroom. Not a single tiled surface was mold free. Cockroaches crawling in at night under the doors. The vent of the air con unit was covered in dust and more black mold. Not that the air con unit worked anyway. We stayed middle of winter so lucky for us all the sheets including pillows were made entirely of plastic (natural fibres would have left us freezing). Staff were only there probably to clean and that's it, because we never saw them. Ever! We tried to check in 20 minutes early and the lady claimed ”there is no luggage storage”. Lo and behold, when we were finally checked in there is a massive painted sign saying ”luggage storage”. Also, the room wasn't ready even by 2PM, the stated check-in time. We saw one gentleman traveller waiting outside to check in at 7PM in the freezing cold for God knows how long he sat there, but we were unable to let him in due to signage explicitly stating that letting in people would lead to non-refundable expulsion. Also, the doors only open with an App, so if your phone does good luck getting in. Honestly, if my phone died, I would have called the cops and had them find a way to let us in with the non-existent staff. Cleaning lady was so lovely. Reception lady was horrible. Kitchen had a faulty stove that was always firing. This is probably not advisable, as a simple gas leak could mean this misfiring burner will blow the place up - if only that would happen (with no-one staying there), because that is the only way this place is going to get better (a complete rebuild). Kitchen was filthy, with no cups to be seen anywhere. I probably wouldn't have used them anyway. Why the heck is there a massive tarp covering the balcony? Did this place semi-burn down??? Also would like to state that the photos provided are most likely from the Glebe location that they also own. The photos looked simple, which is what I wanted. Simple, not freaking disgusting. I have stayed in backpackers in Africa that are legitimately better than this hell-hole. Might I add that one of those places included a room with no glass in the window, and I found that place better than The Village!!!! I have copied this review in case it is ”magically” lost. I will be posting it elsewhere.

In order for 2 people to get into the bed, one had to crawl over the other. The very small window sill became the nightstand. There was no room for luggage, and no luggage racks - we were told they didn’t have enough. That meant one suitcase on the floor and one on the very small plastic table. The retro-refrigerator was cool, but my traveling companion kept threatening to move it out into the hall to create some space in the room the whole time we were there. And then, the very small bathroom, the shower door doubled as the door to the bathroom. Have you ever looked into a microwave? The shower and the bathroom walls had the same dot matrix pattern as a microwave door. My companion was surprised to see while showering she could see me relaxing on the bed, and when she screamed “can you see me?” I replied “yes”. My companion now has bathroom-PTSD. Not only was the shower see through, there was a full-room-view sitting on the throne, trying to do your business. Then the realization somebody may be watching. PTSD! Our solution was to use the downstairs public bathroom for major activities. Did I mention IBS???
