I stayed here previously and had a much nicer room. I’m not sure how to book to get that room but I didn’t get it this time. This time it was a bit tired and there was a smell in the bathroom. I will stay here again but I will be careful to choose the other room type.

Booked three rooms in total: 2 rooms with a queen size bed and 1 room with two single beds. The cleanliness of the rooms with queen size bed were not the best– lots of drain flies in one of the bathroom and not the cleanest; view was nice (on the 18th and 23th floor). On the other hand, the cleanliness of the room with two single beds was great and room looked newer for some reason; no view + gloomy at 5th floor. Other than that, all 3 rooms were very spacious and well-equipped (except that there isn't any hand wash and we had to purchase from convenience store). Location was great– walking distance to almost all the tourist attractions. Front desk was friendly and helpful as well. Overnight parking was a tad pricey.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are newly renovated, modern, and very comfortable. Everything was spotless — from the bathroom to the linens. You can really tell they pay attention to cleanliness. Overall, a fresh and welcoming place to stay. Highly recommended for travelers who value a clean and updated environment.

Our living experience in the Hotel was great. The upgrading service in pent house provided a great view of the surrounding areas with a part of Darling Harbour. The house is so big which let us have a very good rest. The facilities in house are sufficient. The room attendant was very helpful and pleasant. Almost everythings are brilliant, just two things need to improve. One is the drainage and the water supply is not stable in the bathroom. Second thing need to pay attention to is the bathroom door in the bedroom should be changed to the material that can block the sunlight to let the guests sleeping deeper.

Pros: - My flight arrived early, and the front desk was very considerate and let me check in early. - The room was large, with a kitchen and washer-dryer. - The location was great, with a nice view, just a stone's throw from Circular Quay and the Opera House. Cons: - The air conditioner in the room was broken, making it a bit chilly at night. Two repairs failed to fix it, so I didn't want to bother with it and asked them to come back the next day. I even left a note, but it still wasn't fixed. It rained a lot in Sydney during my stay, so the mornings were still quite cold. - The bathroom sink drain was clogged and water was stagnant. - The washing machine drain had a slightly foul smell. - Breakfast was a la carte, not buffet style.

Good transportation link with trains, subways and light rails for airport and Sydney centre. Nearby big Woolworths supermarket, shops, cafe and restaurants. Hotel is a little hard to find as it’s not a grand entrance and attached to a residential building complex. Staff are friendly with smiles, amenities workable though WiFi is a bit unstable but overall good value for money in such central location. There’s a roof top terrace w/a small pool too.

The best hostel for solo travellers. I was a bit hesitant at first given that the only available room was the mixed dorm. However, the room is clean, quiet, enough space for luggages. I think the best thing I noticed is the cleanliness and the travellers who were checking in because they are all well-mannered. It was a bummer that it was fully booked on my last day on Sydney. I transferred to a different hostel across the street and just massive comparison. Can bring big luggage here, there is a lift!!!

The location is in the middle of the CBD and it is convenient to go to the sights. The room is a bit old and the WIFI signal is weak. The elevator has to manually open and close the door. The elevator has to open the door once and the floor of the first floor is not aligned. It is necessary to bend over and step on the way, which is terrible! Be careful of safety incidents. There is a waitress who doesn't care.

The room is tidy, with USB C power adapters on both sides of the bed. It is located in the central area of CBD, about 10 minutes walk to Chinatown. Sydney Central Business District Sydney|0.52km from city center
The hotel boasts a prime downtown location, directly opposite Hyde Park, with St. Mary's Cathedral just a short walk through the park. Sydney Tower, offering panoramic views from its revolving restaurant, is also conveniently across a side street. This makes it an ideal spot for city walks, as most major attractions and Chinatown are within easy walking distance. Public buses offer direct access to the University of Sydney, and a subway station is right across the road. Plus, there are abundant dining options nearby. The front desk service was rather subpar. In the morning, I was confirmed and signed for a room on the 18th floor, only to be moved to the 14th floor when I officially checked in that afternoon. When I inquired why I was assigned a lower floor, I was told it was an 'upgrade' because my Ctrip booking was supposedly for a room below the 7th floor – a detail I couldn't find anywhere in my booking confirmation. The most annoying part was that I had specifically requested a room away from the elevators when booking, yet I was given one right next to them. As we had booked two adjoining rooms, a change wasn't feasible. Fortunately, the room was surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the elevator. To make matters worse, essential items were missing from the room daily, requiring me to call for them, which then took 10-15 minutes to be delivered. On a rainy day, when I finally went out around 4 PM, I did notice a young cleaning staff member who was remarkably efficient, polite, and quick at her tasks. The hotel breakfast was quite good (though certainly not on par with top-tier 5-star hotels in China). The prawn noodles were a particular favorite, but disappointingly, they were unavailable on our last day. For the first three days, the waitstaff didn't offer us coffee or tea after seating us. On the fourth day, we were finally asked, but the coffee we ordered never arrived, even by the time we finished our meal. Over the subsequent days, I observed that most other guests seemed to have coffee, but I didn't inquire about the discrepancy and won't speculate. On a positive note, the restaurant staff were generally polite. Regarding other facilities, they were quite standard, meeting typical 5-star hotel expectations but falling short of a luxury 5-star experience.

My family of 3 checked in early around noon. We stayed at a lovely 1 bedroom apartment on e 2nd level with a balcony which overlooks e street below. Apartment was spacious, amenities provided were sufficient though one could request for more when necessary. What we loved best was e location which was so convenient for us to check out different places of Sydney. We ended up walking to our destinations most of e time while enjoying e weather and scenery. There was ample food choices all around e hotel too. Apart from a busier and noisier street during e weekend, which usually dies down by midnight, my family and I had a great stay in Rydges.

The location is excellent as its across the street from World Square. The rooms are small and compact. The doors are heavy and slam, very annoying at night as the walls are pretty thin. You can hear your guests in the room next door talking. The bathroom door couldn't be closed properly and the shower door, so water leaked onto the floor after showering. They also had some strange signage about leaving the doors open when you shower to avoid a $1600 fine for setting off the fire alarm- due to steam/heat from the shower. It was written in such a way that did not make sense at all. Aside from the great location, it was just far too noisy of a place to stay.

Darling Harbour Sydney|0.9km from city center
Stayed at the Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour for 7 nights. While the location is excellent — just a short walk to Darling Harbour and the ICC Convention Centre — the overall experience was underwhelming. Check-in wasn’t a great start, as the front desk staff member who assisted me was quite grumpy and unwelcoming. Breakfast was the same every morning with a very limited selection, which got boring quickly. The room was clean but had several issues: the shower was hard to adjust, constantly swinging between too hot or too cold, and the walls were thin, so I could clearly hear noise from the neighbouring rooms. The convenient location is definitely a plus, but overall the stay did not feel like good value for money.

The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily. For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful. Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too. The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!

Sydney Central Business District Darlinghurst|0.76km from city center
In short, Pullman Hyde Park Sydney is a great hotel with a gym and pool that offer good views. The rooms are clean, and the location is perfect for accessing all the famous tourist spots. We stayed for 5 nights at Pullman Hyde Park Sydney in mid-May. We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM, which was earlier than the scheduled check-in time. We requested an early check-in at the concierge; however, we were informed that no rooms were available until 1 PM. This was understandable, given our early arrival. While waiting, we appreciated the water dispenser and snacks available for guests. One downside was that the hotel had only three lifts, which were insufficient for the number of guests. One lift even broke down, and the other two were quite slow. We booked a Superior King Room with a Hyde Park view, which was lovely. The room was clean, with no odors or stains. However, our first room was missing disposable slippers and had a broken phone. The staff quickly sent a technician and arranged for us to move to a higher floor with a functioning phone. They were responsive, but we had to move our luggage ourselves, as they were unable to assist with that. (It was around 6pm so they may be short-staffed at that moment.) We spent some time at the gym, but unfortunately, the drinking water ran out around 6 PM. We called the concierge to have it replenished, but no one arrived by the time we left. The pool was decent, and there was also a jacuzzi. However, the jacuzzi was located right next to the gym and in front of the glass entrance, so anyone coming out of the elevator could see you enjoying it, which may or may not be a concern for some guests. A highlight was running on the treadmill while enjoying the stunning sunset over the city skyline—it was spectacular. The location was fantastic! The major bus stops were just a 6-minute walk away, providing easy access to Bondi Beach, Central Station, and Darling Harbour .etc. It was also only a 15-20 minute walk to the harbour, which made exploring the area very convenient. Overall, while I believe there are cheaper options with similar location advantages, the cleanliness at Pullman Hyde Park was notably better than those alternatives.

Conveniently located in the heart of the CBD, near Circular Quay, it was easy to access the key attractions like the Sydney Opera House. The rooftop bar, Aster, also provided fantastic views of the Harbour Bridge. The main draw of this hotel for us was its own indoor carpark as we were renting a car. Valet parking is $89 AUD a night (as of Aug 2025) and there is no option to self-park, but you can enter and exit the carpark as many times as you want. Pricey but generally consistent with the other carpark options in this area. Our room size was pretty big for 2 persons and the room was generally well maintained. We encountered some issues with inconsistent housekeeping e.g. used cups not being replaced, towels not being replaced, but they were generally minor and often quickly rectified after a call to reception. Would recommend if you would like to stay in this part of Sydney.
