A Magical Hokkido Escape-The Absolute Highlight of My Trip.
Returning to Hokkido after nearly a decade, we stayed at serveral properties, but this hotel was the most impressive stay of my 10-day journey. It was truly the magical experience I've been waiting for.
Hightlights of the Stay:
Warm Welcome: Greeted with humble Japanese smiles and genuine hospitality, followed by a choice of sparkling wine-a truly sophisticated start.
The Room: With only 23 suites, it feels very private. The room was spacious and clean, featuring traditional tatami and a private in-room onsen. Opening the window to breath in the crisp winter air while soaking and watching the snowfal was pure bliss.
Atmosphere and Facilities: the common areas include a cozy fireplace, a library, and a terrace overlooking the waterfront where the lake meets the river. Complimentary coffee and drinks are available thougtout the day. There is also a full spa on-site.
Service and Logistics: World-class service from a very polite team. Free reserved parking is provided.
Note on Location: While it's not in a walking-distance area during winter, the hotel is a destination in itself. You can easily spend the whole day relaxing here without wanting to leave.
We'll definitely be back to experience this beauty in other seasons. A huge thank you to the staff for such an unforgettable stay!
Exceptional Dining: The fine-dining meals feature premium local ingredients; the Monkfish (Anko) was particularly outstanding and delicious. I loved the open kitcheck where you can see the chefs' craftsmanship. They even provide thoughtful late-night snacks like Japanese sweets and warm soup.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough – it was one of the highlights of our Hokkaido trip!
The free shuttle bus service to and from Sapporo Station (both ways) made everything so convenient. No need to worry about taxis or public transport after a long day – just hop on and relax. Super thoughtful and saved us a lot of hassle.
The decoration is beautifully traditional Japanese style – think elegant tatami rooms, shoji screens, and that authentic ryokan vibe. It felt very calming and immersive right from check-in.
The onsen is absolutely superb! The water quality is excellent, the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the views (especially the outdoor bath) are stunning – so relaxing after exploring Sapporo or Jozankei area. One of the best onsen experiences I’ve had.
Breakfast buffet was a real treat: fresh Hokkaido ingredients shine through, with amazing seafood (uni, salmon roe, sashimi-grade fish), local veggies, and high-quality dishes. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious – perfect way to start the day.
They even offer free hot wine and sparkling wine service in the evenings – such a nice touch! We really enjoyed sipping while unwinding.
Honestly, I can’t say enough good things. Great value, authentic atmosphere, top-notch onsen, and thoughtful extras. Highly recommended! 🌸♨️

I stayed at Mori no Uta for my birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance, and they had a birthday card ready for me. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from Makomanai Station, which needs to be booked beforehand. On the day I checked out, I booked the 9:30 AM shuttle, arrived at the station at 10:00 AM, and smoothly caught the 10:10 AM airport bus to New Chitose Airport. It was all seamless.
The Japanese-Western style room was 40 square meters and quite spacious. It had a huge massage chair and a coffee machine. What impressed me most was dinner, where they offered freshly made pizza or naan that you could customize with toppings and have delivered to your table once baked. The naan crust was soft and fragrant with a wheaty aroma. I specifically asked for extra large shrimp and a generous amount of cheese – it was impossible not to love it! The dinner seating faced a beautifully illuminated snow scene outside, which was absolutely stunning.
The hotel lobby boasts a magnificent, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, which is perfect for photos. In the evening, there was a small harp concert, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.
Both breakfast and dinner featured incredibly creamy ice cream. I had two big bowls at each meal and thoroughly enjoyed it!

This onsen hotel is definitely worth the price. The environment and hygiene are excellent, and the room layout is fantastic. The yukata was the most comfortable I wore during my Hokkaido trip. The service was absolutely superb, especially the proprietress at the Kaiseki restaurant, Shoan. She was incredibly elegant and generous, giving us an authentic and meticulous Japanese service experience. The private onsen with a fee had average views. The outdoor public onsen was closed on the day of my stay due to cold weather. The indoor onsen, for a hotel of this price point, was quite ordinary. Therefore, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the onsen experience. All in all, while it might not be exceptionally surprising, this is a hotel that's well worth its price.

The room is great, the hot spring is fantastic, dinner was an art, and breakfast was good. The water here is truly amazing! This was my second visit, and it was still wonderful and very private, allowing for true relaxation. I visited in March and it snowed a lot, which was very satisfying. The lounge cookies were delicious, and the alcohol and beverages in the in-room mini-bar were also excellent.

xxxOSCAI stayed here for four nights during the Snow Festival.
The location is near the main street of Susukino and very convenient.
However, I found the hotel's operations lacking, as the reception was often unattended in the mornings.
The twin room was quite cramped for two people, making it difficult to pack and unpack.
With only three laundry machines (one of which was broken), the facilities felt insufficient for the size of the hotel.
While the breakfast had a good variety and didn't get boring, don't set your expectations too high for the 'signature' seafood bowls

MCKohMy stay at Jozankei View Hotel was fantastic. The hotel has a very tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a hot spring resort. The dinner quality was a pleasant surprise; the sashimi and sweet shrimp were incredibly fresh, and the beef was delicious. For breakfast, the seafood donburi was also amazing and very satisfying. The onsen facilities were spacious and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing soak. Overall, the service, food, and environment were excellent. It was a very satisfying hot spring hotel experience and definitely worth recommending.

Guest UserBed is rock hard. After 4 nights, I have serious back ache, plus I'm lacking in sleep, due to how hard and uncomfortable the bed was.
The pool facility wasn't fully open (it only does so in August). The last week in July at least opens the some of the outside area for use, but it doesn't fully open until August. They'd also made the 25m outside pool a wipeout/ninja obstacle course so, if you want to actually swim [do some lengths etc] then the only place you can do this was initially only open in August and even then it is now taken over by an obstacle. The indoor sections are open all year round. You have to pay extra to access the slides - not too crazy at 500 or 600yen depending on the day for unlimited access (you're given a wristband).
Breakfast was ok. Wide variety of foods - some of which I wouldn't normally associate with breakfast, but still nice to have choices. Signage claims it gets busy after 8am. This is definitely not true - it's busy when it first opens at 7am and then slowly gets quieter over the 7~10 opening times (last entry at 9:30). Can't speak about weekends tho.
Shuttle bus is busiest at the 5pm time slot.
Overall, a ”resort” that claims to be 4 stars it most certainly isn't. 2 stars yes. 2.5 maybe. But the whole place just feels quite dated and far from the luxury expected from a ”4 star hotel”.
Apart from the bed as I've already mentioned, the room was a good enough size but all the decor and controls were old. The Aircon control was worn and glitchy (button presses would turn it off etc) but at least it worked and made the room the temp we wanted. The lighting panel has had so many changes there are stickers on it to blank out buttons which no longer function - fair enough, but maybe spend a bit of money on a decent upgrade??? This hotel isn't cheap!

Guest User”Renovated (uneven), great onsen, convenient location”
Most of the hotel’s facilities were recently renovated, so they felt new and beautiful. However, only some of the rooms had been updated. Our room was older—not too old, but slightly disappointing compared to the pretty new lobby. That said, it was clean.
Our room was near several Chinese tourists who often talked in the corridor, but it was quiet at night.
Buffet dinner and breakfast were included. The food was okay—good compared to other countries, but average compared to other Japanese hotels.
The onsen was excellent, with multiple pools at different temperatures, including cold baths and an open-air onsen (though partially enclosed due to the hotel’s location). There was a lounge area with free soft drinks and massage chairs before entering the onsen. A table tennis area was also available, though in the basement and a bit hot, so we didn’t play.
The reception spoke limited English but tried their best to communicate. There was also a self-service coffee machine in the lobby with a lounge area to relax.
The hotel’s location was very convenient: close to the bus stop, with convenience stores nearby. During our summer visit, the illumination event was walkable from the hotel.
