"Fantastic location with beautiful Nile views — I could even see the Pyramids from my balcony. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and it was convenient to have an on-site ATM with no extra fees. However, the staffs at the main entrance came across as a bit pushy (not sure if it’s a cultural thing or just individual attitude). Check-in and check-out were also quite slow, with about a 10–15 minute wait both times. The biggest issue was the hair dryer: it was very old and visibly damaged, patched with white tape, and it actually gave me an electric shock as it cracked while I was using it. This really shouldn’t happen at a well-known hotel chain."

"Fabulous! After a busy few days staying elsewhere in Cairo it was wonderful to reach the sanctuary of the Ramses Hilton. We were upgraded to an Executive room and spent a great afternoon just admiring the view and the Nile from our high balcony, and relaxing by / swimming in the (almost-hot!) pool. The room had everything we could ask for and the bed was super comfortable. Service was impeccable, and our dinner and a few beers were good value. Highly recommended 👌"

"The hotel is conveniently located next to Liberation Square, just a 2-3 minute walk away. The breakfast was good, with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, and the red chili peppers 🌶️ were wonderfully spicy. The room was just right for two people and two large suitcases. You can see the swimming pool from outside the room.
About 100 meters from the hotel, there's a wide main road. Cross the road, and you'll find the Old Egyptian Museum. Walking in the opposite direction leads you to Liberation Square, where there's an obelisk. I believe there's a metro station nearby, but taxis are so cheap in Cairo that we didn't bother looking for it."

"Connected to Terminal 3 by a sky bridge, you can walk directly from the terminal across the parking lot to the hotel without ever going outside. The room was spacious and soundproof (could barely hear any planes taking off or landing), the bedding was clean, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My only regret is that my stay was too short; my flight was delayed the night before and I didn't arrive until almost midnight, then I left right after breakfast the next morning."

"People were on a business trip in Cairo and chose this hotel that specializes in serving Chinese people. I really chose the right one!
The most surprising thing is breakfast, which is completely the gospel of our Chinese stomach. Hot and sour potato shreds, cold cucumbers, cabbage, these home-cooked dishes are very authentic. The egg fried rice is clearly grained, salty and delicious, as well as sweet potatoes, boiled eggs, fresh toast, French fries and fruits, the category is particularly rich. I didn't expect to eat such an appetizing Chinese buffet abroad. The taste is not bad with the food at home. Every day, I have a full breakfast and I am full of vitality.
The overall environment of the hotel is clean and tidy, the dining area is very refreshing and the ingredients are fresh. As a middle-aged person who runs business all year round, the most important thing is to eat smoothly and live well. This store fully meets the needs. It is recommended that compatriots who come to Cairo stay at ease!"

There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries around, making dining and shopping very convenient. The room had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great for making breakfast, and there was a common lounge area on our floor. Getting to Cairo Airport by Uber only took about 30 minutes."

"Wow, this place is really great and offers excellent value for money. The facilities are top-notch, and the other guests are very polite and respectful of personal space. The staff here are some of the best English speakers I've encountered in Egypt. They were incredibly caring and thoughtful when I asked them to help me communicate with locals. VVon30Stayed for 4 nights. Upon check-in I asked the man at the reception if anything else was needed as normally a deposit would be taken. Was told that everything was fine. On the 2nd night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant at the lobby. Food was not prepared as I requested as I ordered steak. The waiter insisted that I sliced through the middle to check it as I ordered medium rare. He agreed that it was overcooked. Took it back and said that they would prepare another order. However, 5minutes later he sent the same steak back to me and mentioned that they checked under proper lighting and it was cooked properly. It was very obvious that it was definitely overcooked and dry. I just accepted it and couldn’t be bothered. Mind you the fries that came with the steak was over fried and hard as rock. I didn’t even eat another piece after trying it. Halfway through chewing on the hard and dry steak. The waiter decided to come back again and ask if everything was fine and if I didn’t like it they could cook me another piece. This was just frustrating and I didn’t want to wait anymore as it was late and I was tired from a full day tour. Finally finished my dinner and asked for the bill. I signed it to the room. The waiter comes back and tells me that I didn’t put a deposit in the room so I had to pay. Mind you I brought no cards or cash since I expected that I could bill to the room. One of us ended up going back to the room to take money to pay for the meal which was embarrassing and unacceptable for our standards. We were staying for 4 nights. On our last night of stay, we came back to the hotel and we were locked out of the room. Had to go back to reception and found out that the person who checked us in didn’t put the correct number of nights. This was truly a disgrace on Waldorf and the receptionist. Obviously your staff at the check in need more training. I have stayed in many international hotels around the world and never face such lowly trained staff at reception that make such mistakes which spoils the image of the hotel.
However, I have to give a huge shoutout to a few people that made my days great. Menna and Apeeo from breakfast were wonderful. Impeccable service from them. However, male staffs showed poor knowledge and were quite lazy as they were more interested in chatting that serving customers. Bellman Sherif was wonderful helping us check out with our luggages and even waited with us for our transport.

It was so cold at night that I had to boil water in the kettle and pour it on the floor to keep warm while I slept... So for facilities, also a 2.5.

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel for the night since we arrived one day before our tour group . Our requirement was to have a comfortable sleep for the night . I have seen many reviews complaining about difficulty in finding the novotel shuttle bus from airport to hotel . However , we had a receiving person from our tour group , who helped to call the driver and coordinated our boarding of shuttle bus. so we did not face that problem . We were picked up at the airport.
Hotel staff were kind and helpful . We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel . Since it was Feb 14th there was a young lady who gave a rose to me in the restaurant to give to my wife. Nice gesture . we loved it.
It was comfortable stay , room was just right . Food was good . Our return back to airport was easy using the shuttle bus. Thanks for the good stay.

GGuest UserThe staff of this hotel was not good, At about 8 PM in the evening, the hotel front desk staff called the room and said that the hotel we booked only allows one person to stay. If two people stay, they need to add an additional fee of 70 US dollars. Very unlogic, so I leave my friend and I booked another hotel.but the facilities and environment is good .only their service is bad
