Hôtel Particulier le Mercier de Montigny -Une Nuit Sur les Remparts-

We stayed one night and wished it was for longer. The bedroom on the first floor was large with spectacular views over the town. The place is beautifully furnished and retains the old floors and ceilings. Breakfast is an absolutes feast, with eggs from her grandmother's farm, croissants, brioche a number of different types of jam. The hospitality is really second to none, we were really made to feel at home. We cannot recommend this place too highly

Perfect location in the centre of Fougères. Our large room on the second floor had luxurious bedding. The wood panelling and rich colours, the bathroom (excellent over-bath tray with complimentary bath salts) and peaceful feeling made this a magnificent stay. Only one night but I would have loved longer.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The breakfasts provided by Lucille were a highlight. It is a beautiful property built in the 1700’s on a street that is much older still. Access by car and parking is easy, right outside the front door. On Saturday morning there is an open air market on the street by the hotel, at which time one parks around the back. There are multiple good restaurants in easy walking distance. Altogether, I regard this as an excellent base for touring Britanny by car. Access to Mont Saint Michel is also easy in 40 minutes or so. We had hoped to visit the nearby Christian Dior museum in Granville, but they were still closed for the winter.
