Datong Hotels with Shuttle Service

What an amazingly unexpected service we received from Carter and the hotel management at Longxuanju! We were picked up at the train station with a big welcoming smile by Carter and Ms Zhang, hotel manager. Afterwards, Carter drove us to have lunch and tour the ancient town. When we got back to the inn at night, we were served tea and some sweets in the courtyard area. The next day Carter gave us a ride to/from Yungang Grottoes. Then we were taken to the train station early in the morning with breakfast thoughtfully packed to go. Longxuanju is only 15min walk from the ancient town and located steps from one of the gate to city wall which is really nice to stroll at night. The room was stocked with fruits, snacks and water. And you can enjoy watching TV on the large movie screen in the room! We had an unforgettable experience in Datong thanks to Carter and hotel management!

I chose this hotel because it is just a twenty minute walk north of Datong South Station. It is right next to Fantawild amusement park, so is a good choice for families (Most of the guests were families with young kids). Everything inside the hotel is brand new. One of the hosts at reception was exceptional, and she not only offered wonderful device and care to me but also to every guest I saw her interacting with (I didn't learn her name, alas). One interesting note: I stayed there on a Friday and Saturday night, and there was a firework show on both evenings in Fanatwild next door. The booming sound startled me at first, but I quickly realized what it was.

The hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of the ancient city, a minute's walk from the Drum Tower Pedestrian Street, and close to all kinds of food. It's not far from the attractions in the ancient city, and the hotel itself is close to the Grand Mosque (see the night view photo below). The hotel facilities are good, clean and tidy, and the layout is warm and modern. The lady at the hotel front desk is professional and enthusiastic, and she answers all questions. Great 👍

地理位置絕佳，處於古城牆核心地段，在正對鐘樓的位置，樓下就是喜晉道，紫泥369、鳳臨閣、各種網紅小吃就在附近，往西走5分鐘就是華嚴寺，懶人旅行的最佳選擇！ 客棧性價比很高，價位合理，房間非常乾淨、衞浴使用起來非常舒適，洗澡用水超級痛快、水也熱，配套每天兩瓶礦泉水，還有茶裏的茶。就是低估了大同這邊的地暖，燒的太好了，現在的天氣還沒有很冷有些熱。 服務非常到位，提前電聯住客問什麼時候到，還可以根據情況提前入住，由於淡季老闆給升級了觀景房，打招呼很熱情，諮詢什麼都能細緻解答、客棧裏還有好吃的特產杏幹賣，可以試吃，價格便宜還好吃，需要的客人可以帶一些回家！ 總之此次大同三天兩晚之行很滿意！

It is convenient for travel, there are free parking spaces, and the surrounding supporting facilities are complete. The room is clean and tidy, the layout is warm and comfortable, and the facilities are complete and easy to use. The service is even better. The staff is warm and thoughtful, answering all questions and helping to solve many small problems. The price-performance ratio is also very high, which is completely beyond expectations. I sincerely recommend it to everyone. I will choose this place next time I travel. It must be praised!

After booking the room, the merchant quickly contacted us. Tell us the specific location in advance, there is an underground garage, and you can directly enter the hotel, very convenient! The room has floor heating, which is very comfortable for the cold winter. Every time I go out and put on shoes, it is hot. The whole room is smart, the hot water for washing and bathing is straight out, and it is very relieved to take a hot bath after a day of shopping. There is also a bathtub. Children can also take a bubble bath at night. Breakfast is very characteristic and very rich! The staple food is different every day. The noodles, lamb powder, tofu powder, meat sandwiches, etc. are all freshly made, especially fragrant, full of food, no need to eat at noon. All the staff of the hotel are very, very kind, especially like a home, the children also like everyone here very much, and they are reluctant to leave!

The homestay is in a newly built building and antique. The suite we stayed in, two rooms, the big bed room inside, the two luggages were a bit cramped after opening, but we lived with four families, and the luggage was OK outside. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and soft, and the sleeping was very comfortable. There are not many places to eat around, but it is not far from the pedestrian street in the main street archway. The breakfast was very rich and the staff was hard. We went out to play early every morning and they had to prepare earlier than us. The breakfast at the hotel is so rich and rare. It is hearty. Millet porridge, fruit, sweet potatoes, corn, steamed buns, and a bowl of noodles. Every day I eat full, I go out and stroll. It coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the inn also served the moon and saw it for the first time. Before leaving, the inn also sent two packs of millet and praised one.

The location is very good. It's very close to Datong South Railway Station, Drum Tower, Prince Dai's Mansion, Nine Dragon Wall, and Shanhua Temple. When I was shooting costumes in the ancient city, the landlady even let me shoot in the courtyard, which was beyond the scope of the movie.

I have read thousands of books and respected the Northern Wei Dynasty. I have only been here to worship Yungang. Last year, I accidentally read a book about Datong, and I have been longing for it for a long time. This year, during the Qingming Festival, I finally crossed thousands of mountains and rivers and walked into this ancient capital. As a travel lover, I have also stayed in countless homestays, but this time it gave me an unexpected surprise. The owner is an elegant beauty. She personally did everything from design to decoration to furnishings in every corner. In particular, the promotional video introducing Datong played in the store was planned and shot by her personally, which is beautiful, atmospheric and professional. During the day, stroll through the ancient city, look for ancient temples, worship caves, the glazed eyes of the Yungang Giant Buddha, the architectural miracle of the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, the ground buildings spanning periods, the fragrance of Fenjiu deep in the alleys, and the rich vinegar in every household all bear witness to the traces of Chinese civilization. In the evening, climb the mottled ancient city wall and quietly enjoy the sunset. When night falls, return to your residence, quiet and comfortable, as if you are in nature, clean and peaceful. A homestay inherits the culture and charm of a city, allowing every visitor to experience poetry and distance. If you can go to a city for a homestay, Beiwei Yunqi, it deserves it...
