I had a lovely stay at Jakotel. I booked for 5 nights and it was one of the best hostel experiences I have ever had. It is not a social hostel but there is a small hangout area on the 2nd floor. The hostel is strategically located in a quiet area of Namba - super close to the subway, kuromon market, and the bustling area of dotonbori. It is also walking distance to many tourist attractions, and there is a laundromat closeby. I'd definitely stay again in the future.

When I participated in the event at the festival hall, I used it. It is about 2 ~ 3 minutes walk from the subway Yotsubashi line ”Higo Bashi” station, so it is convenient from the Umeda area and from Nanba area. The festival hall was about 5 ~ 6 minutes walk, so I didn't have to worry about the time of the train, whether going to or returning to the event. It was still 3 years since the opening, so it was a new and clean impression overall. It is a compact hotel with 5 rooms on the 1 floor and about 40 rooms in the whole, but there were laundry corners and free spaces (rental space with kitchen). The rooms were a type of shoe-free up, not a bed, but a futon on the floor of the floor. The rooms were also cleaned properly and there was no shortage of facilities. Because the time was late to end the event, dinner was finished at the convenience store, but there were many good shops around. The next day, I went to the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, about 6 ~ 7 minutes walk, but I was grateful that the check-out was 11 o'clock and it was late (I was able to leave my luggage after checking out). I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity to go around here.

You have to take the Metro from Osaka Railway Station. It did smell a bit when I first went in but the smell went away when I turned the air-conditioning on. Interesting sleeping on the floor!
Nice lounge area on the first floor with microwave and hot water.
Even got a bath area or onsen on the first floor for ladies. Ladies have to go down to the first floor to take showers in the 'only ladies' bathroom. Make sure to turn on the hot water heater when you get into the shower room!

High CP value for the good location and low price. Has everything I needed.. from the convenience stores. Able to purchase amenities from the counter as well. Friendly counter service. Women storey and men storey differ a lot in terms of quality and availability of services. Sauna from the hotel is only catered to the men. Women storey has doors with wide opening at the top, thus smoke smells travel easily. The bed curtain helps to reduce smell but the wrong and hallways always reek of cigarette despite being a non-smoking building 🤦🏻♀️ I do hope the management enforces this policy strictly.

Me and my friend stayed here in April for 2 nights whilst in Osaka. It is a bit far from the main dotonburi canals and shopping etc but probably about 25 minutes walk ish. The hotel itself was lovely very clean very modern the bunk beds was comfy I actually slept unlike in other places I stayed in japan. We did make a mistake on our booking and booked for men’s which woops so they changed it to the women’s thankfully , you get free coffee juice and toast in the morning but we didn’t really use it much, I was so impressed by the design the facilities the shower the toiletries the washrooms etc it looked much more expensive that it actually was. I think we got s bargain for this place for 2 nights and it looked like it would have cost us a lot by the interior and exterior. Overall I really enjoyed it here and I would defo stay here again given I would be back in Osaka

Me and my two friends arrived here and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were too early for check in but they kindly let us leave our luggage in a safe place while we go out and explore the city! When we came back we were given our keys and free towels. The room we are staying in is very clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean. Really nice foot bath outside that you can enjoy after walking round all day. The hostel has a traditional Japanese style which is a lovely touch! Would recommend to stay here.

I took my kids around Japan for Thanksgiving week. We stayed in hostels everywhere because it was hard to find hotel rooms for three people. Of all of the places we stayed, this was by far the nicest one. The room was hotel quality - with great beds, clean and modern bathrooms, and a new feel to everything. The staff were very friendly and the location was great for walking around Dotonburi at night. Beds were already made, towels were included and great shower products. Overall, way better than the average hostel.

Outstanding
JJo89This is one of our most comfortable hotel/airbnb stay in the whole of our Japan trip. We have been to Osaka 3 times for 5-7 days stay and this is by far the best, affordable stay.
Room is really clean and new.
Towels are fluffy and soft.
Great shower taps with micro adjustment for water temperature. Heated water comes out consistently. (Comparing with some reputable hotels), no cold water burst during shower. Awesome!
separate shower and bathtub, big plus point.
Washing machine function well, balcony for drying clothes.
Room looks like what’s advertised and way better than expected considering the price.
Big, comfortable, enough space for couples.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash are of good quality, not drying.
Beds are really comfortable, comforters keep use warm enough. Pillows are not too high or hard.
Curtains are not the total blackout kind, so bring eye mask if you’re a light sleeper but normal sleeper like my husband can sleep through the early morning sunrise with no issue. I slept really well even though I am a very light sleeper.
Close to train station.
Met the staffs on our first day and very friendly and helpful.
Highly highly recommend.
Would definitely stay here again when we visit!

GGuest UserGracious staff Strategic location Perfect accommodations Very clean Location is next to the train system. Underground train system is interconnected. Walk to Exit # 11(next to green atm). Walk upstairs . Walk 10 feet and turn right into the mall. Pass FamilyMart and turn right into the small alley. Hotel is located mid alley. Fast check in Super fast WiFi Rooms was perfect for solo traveler. Two travelers will be a challenge. Enough room for one small carry-on luggage. Large luggage will be a challenge, but doable. Shower/tub Fills Will hot spring water . Shower water pressure is one of the best in my travels. Soaking in the tub after a 15 mile trek, was heavenly. Toiletries available in the lobby. Shampoo and liquid bath soap in the shower. Not much room to put your items, but can place on the desk. Bath towels and yukata provided and exchanged every other day. Hotel is very quiet , given its central location. Instructions: Hot bath ONSEN for men is located on the 10th floor . Open from 6pm-11pm. Wear your Yukata and slippers provided in your room . Bring your key card and small towel Press 10th floor. Enter ONSEN and place your slippers by the door. Slide open the door and place your clothes and items in the basket. Slide open the door to the shower/pool area. Take a shower using their provided shampoo and gel. Now you can enter the pool and sauna area. Large hot pool (fits 10) and a dry sauna (fits 5) . Enjoy 2-10 minute walk to the below locations: Tons of food, bars , entertainment, shopping , JR and all other trains , cafes, breakfast , dontoburi canal , etc etc Excellent stay . This will be my go to hotel in Osaka. If this review was helpful, please give it a 👍 Happy travels

GGuest UserIt is a rare ”private room type & TV) in the guest house. (It's small.) The owner was kind and friendly, and he also taught me about the color 々 nearby shops. (Since it is not a hotel, it is not suitable for those who want ”perfect”.) There is also a washing machine, so I think it is convenient for ”people who do laundry at a travel destination” like me. Of course, there is also Wi-Fi. By the way, the shower room is ”2”. (For measures such as cancellation without permission, ”only one card payment option”. Please understand that point and should be used ...) Check-in is ”until 10 pm”. It's an essential item in the guest house.
Pphilippas2013The entire experience is petrified. I have never ever had so horrible experience in my entire life due to the foreign staff who is not Asian nor Japanese. The foreign staff is a guy with the cap on. As a tourist I forget to take off my shoes when I came to the hostel that made sense. Also it was the only and first time I made the mistake. He then shouted at me and pissed off by saying please Obey OUR Rule whilst other Japanese staff just said Oh she forgets only instead of shouting and being so rude. The Japanese understand I did not do it on purpose or have any intention of breaking their rule. The foreign staff looks so bossy as this is his hostel and he is the boss. He speaks fluent Japanese. I seriously don't understand why the hostel hire this rude person. Come on I know you want to make it international. He might brought his very rude culture from the middle east. The white people or Asian will not behave like this. I am not asking for a five star hotel service but at the very least treat your guest with respect. Obey is a strong word and I know he is not an English speaker but he is unbelievably rude. In the hospitality industry even though it is a hostel it needs service basic service and at the very least being polite. As if I owed him a lot come on I am a guest. Another staff like the Japanese girl and the owner Japanese guy are nice especially the girl called naka and she was very sweet to ask where would I go and giving suggestion. Apart from that the TV is amazing coz you turn up loud it's the same as silence Like other review said it is very noisy especially on Friday night. Staring from 4:30 in the morning someone was brushing teeth and locked and opened their door. It happened on every hour. I did not get a good night of sleep. I cannot wait to get out of this hell as I worried to make other mistake or forget something like take off the shoes and get shouted by the big boss from middle East. I will not come due to this guy. Taking to the local mere y who sold the skewer about the Japan is getting international. The old say is Japanese refused the immigration. There are not much white people only up to 2. But tons of the Middle East people who worked in restaurant hostel supermarkets or clothes shop. They are rude like the male Middle East staff in the hostel. The local said he welcome tourists not immigrant Japanese culture emphasis on politeness and repect. This rude staff ruined my trip and my good impression about Japan. Ask me to obey okay I will not be back to your hostel. And even in China have much better service then you. I will not come to Japan and spendinf money for such disgraceful treatment . Thank you Middle East staff you just ruined my trip in Japan. This is utterly unpleasant.

MMaru ShamovaVery nice room with panoramic windows. Friendly and pleasant staff. But there was only one toilet on the floor, although the room had a shower. There was nowhere to wash your face and brush your teeth. On the 10th floor there should have been a pompously named Sky lounge, but there were just tables with a microwave and a refrigerator.

GGuest UserMy son, a student, stayed here with his friends to go to the TWICE concert at Yanmar Stadium. It was my first time to book a self-check-in hotel, so I was nervous about whether we would be able to check in on the day. We stayed with 5 people. When I checked the reviews, I saw that there was a mistake on Trip.com and they had trouble with the futons not being prepared for the reservation, so I was a bit worried. It seems that the outside around the hotel was smelly. It's in a lively downtown area and convenient, so I think it was a good deal. The information at the hotel entrance was in 4 languages and colorful and flashy. It's just as shown in the photo. There was also a poster with something that looked like a religious solicitation, so I wondered if it was really okay to stay at this hotel? They were suspicious and contacted me from the local area. In the end, that was just before we entered the room, and the inside was clean and well-equipped, so they seemed very satisfied. Futons were properly prepared for 5 people. It seems that there were sheets and other bedding on the first floor in case there were not enough sheets. (At first, it seemed like they thought they had to bring this into their room and prepare it themselves.)
There was a balcony so we could go outside and hang out the laundry, which was very comfortable. We were able to stay for a low price, and were very satisfied with the value for money. We would like to use it again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

GGuest UserThe location is amazing. Just few minutes walking from Hommachi Station exit 25. It's also close to another exit with elevator access if you bring large luggage. There's also few konbinis nearby the hotel. Restaurants and coffee shops are just walking distance. Although the room is not large but it's comfortable enough for you to rest and sleep. I really appreciate its cleanliness, both the bedroom and bathroom. They also provided you with basic amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, towel, dental kit, hairdryer, sanitizer spray, small refrigerator, kettle). The staff is really helpful and friendly. Sure I will choose to stay at this hotel again when I am back to Osaka.

GGuest UserThis is an hotel located very close to all the anime related stores in Nihonbashi Osaka (6min walk from Animate store Osaka).
The hotel is comfy and clean with friendly staffs. Floor 3 is the lounge where I spent a lot of free time (on phone calls/watching videos/ drawing/ eating/ work...etc.) The space makes you feel welcomed, and most of the seats have a electric port for you to plug in your chargers.
On the day I checked out (11:00am), I asked the staff if I could stay in the lounge even after check out and they said it's completely ok. My night bus on that day was at 22:30 hence I had a lot of time on hand, so I spent a few hours in that lounge, thank you so much to the friendly staffs😊
I've already recommended to friends to visit here, and if I travel to Osaka again I would definitely want to stay here again💯

GGuest UserThe location is close to the station, but I was scared when I came out of the exit at 10 pm and passed the tunnel. There was a homeless person lying on the floor and it seemed like someone was chasing me. I walked quickly in fear for about 5 minutes and the door was locked lol.
After 6pm, web check-in must be done in advance. When I knocked on the door, a man opened it and it was a complete savior. When you do a web check-in with QR, you will be given a password and you need to capture this. First of all, it's perfect for just sleeping. It's clean and private. But there are no employees, so if something happens, I'll have a meltdown. If I go alone, I may revisit for about 1 night. However, if you have no reason to stay here, it would be better to stay in Shinsaibashi, even if it is a little more expensive. It's scarier than near Shinimamiya... And further down before Guldari, there's a big supermarket, and it's a lot cheaper. But here too, there are people working hard and drinking on the street, so it is not recommended for women alone.

Ssmallsmallshark102The hotel is conveniently located, only 2 minutes walk from Nanhai Xinjingong Station, and it is very convenient to return to and from Kansai Airport. The hotel is cheap, but it still enjoys a separate room. Although the room is small, there is still a little space to open the suitcase completely. The room is also clean, the bed is a little smaller, comfortable, and slippers and towels are provided. Although the toilet is shared, the cleanliness is good. The hotel has a large bathing area to experience Japanese bathing. Overall, low cost accommodation, but feel good, if you don't mind sharing bathrooms and bathrooms, it is worth recommending.
