We used this hotel as a stop point on a long road trip a few months ago. This day happened to coincide with prom so the usual Hiltons we stay at were booked. This was the only Hilton nearby with availability. I now know why. When we checked in that night the receptionist gave us wrong information regarding where to get the complimentary breakfast the next morning and directed us to two places nearby to get something to eat. I'll just leave it at neither of these restaurants was good. It's also right next to a night club so unless you're there for the night club, another mark against the hotel. We woke up the next morning to head down to the complimentary breakfast before continuing our trip. We were quickly informed there was no complimentary breakfast and only a restaurant where you had to pay exorbitant prices. We pretty much exclusively stay at Hiltons and have never stayed at a Hilton that didn't have some kind of complimentary breakfast. The price we paid for this hotel was twice what it cost to stay at our preferred Hilton in that area that has a complimentary breakfast and equally as nice if not nicer rooms. We presented our complaint to the receptionist and informed them if they are different than every other Hilton brand it should be made clear when reserving a room there that amenities are not the same as every other Hilton brand - especially if they are charging twice as much. Instead of trying to make the issue right, they threatened to call corporate and lie about our actions in order to push negative repercussions. I called corporate but all they did was give us a few thousand points - not even enough to cover a room for a night. Lesson learned. Not only will I never stay at the Hilton Garden in Terra Haute, I will never stay at a Hilton Garden anywhere. I'd recommend you do the same unless you want to pay twice the price for half the amenities.

SpringHill Suites Terre Haute

I'm a long-time Marriott Platinum member and I've never been so disappointed with a hotel. My family and I were traveling through on a road trip and based on the hotel rating on the app, it seemed like a reasonable place to stay. Sadly, the reality was shocking. We arrived late in the evening, and found people who didn't seem to be guests hanging out in their cars in the parking lot, which gave us anxiety due to the contents in our rooftop storage box. Check-in was fine, although the lobby and surrounding areas seemed poorly maintained. It got really bad when we got off the elevator and were greeted by the smell of garbage and vomit and trash everywhere (including chicken bones). The carpet was absolutely filthy. Unfortunately the smell and filthy carpet was also found in our room. The couch was also filthy and the pillows were without cases. The next morning, when we were checking out, we found that the garbage in the public area was still there and the overnight manager and housekeeping staff were directly front of the hotel smoking cigarettes. We chose not to eat anything as a result of the condition of that area. Had it not been so late, we would have left the hotel, but we had no choice but to stay in a disgusting room. No one in my family slept well and we were exhausted for the final leg of our journey.

It is suitable for traveling with children. There is no extra charge for breakfast. You can go directly to the restaurant or ask your family to pack it and bring it back to the room. No one asks you or any bad expression! Hard to come by!

I wish I could give this hotel a 5/5 review, but even though I don’t, I’d still recommend staying here. On the positive side, the reception desk staffer was friendly and polite. The room we stayed in was clean. The dining area looked spacious and welcoming. And then, things just started to go wrong. After a 9 hour day of driving, we were hot and tired (as most travelers are.) I went up to my room, opened the door and it was obvious that a guest was still using the room. Suitcases were visible and other signs of occupancy. I went back downstairs and told the receptionist. She was visibly flustered and it took about 10 minutes or so for her to resolve this issue and offer me another room.Perhaps she is a new employee because the room issue was resolved when a housekeeping staffer arrived and helped her determine what to do. I went back upstairs, and the key would not open the door. I went back downstairs and she apologized and fixed the key. All those small issues combined were exasperating, but the staff was pleasant and the hotel seemed clean and well taken care of. I’d still recommend it.

We were traveling when we ran into the storm of the year. We decided to get off the Interstate 70 W. We were going to go to another Hotel , but decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. We were meet with a friendly staff. They gave us a good rate and let us go into our room early. The room was clean and up to date. We ended staying for two nights because of weather issues. We needed an e-note printed from our IPhone and the front desk printed for us. Not sure if we will ever be here again, but We would stay here. Breakfast is provided and it was ok. There is a Restaurant attached to the Hotel and it is very good. They give a discount for guests.

The breakfast is western style, scrambled eggs are with milk; there is a microwave in the room to heat the food; the hygiene is not bad, the service is satisfactory, the air conditioning in the room was arranged at that time, and the air conditioning in the room blown out a strange smell. The waiter will change it immediately after confirmation One; there is a large parking space downstairs, coffee in the lobby, the taste is okay; there are many around there is a private museum not far from the hotel, the transportation is very convenient
