But after checking around, I found that the facilities and equipment are very complete: there are air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, phone, hair dryer, kettle, even microwave oven, induction cooker, even pot, you can simply drop a meal. The garbage needs to be sorted into the garbage bag by yourself, and the next day you can get the trash can in the laundry room on the first floor to throw it away. The wardrobe has hangers, pajamas, and vacuum cleaners. It is not cleaned during the stay. If it is dirty, you can vacuum it yourself. In fact, I stayed for eight days and there was no dust. We asked for the luggages reserve and they help us to keep it with signs that allowed us to identify ours luggage, more importantly the staff serve us with water right away we get into the entrance in the hot summer weather, it was touching and wonderful. The cafe outside is warm and sweet, I still miss the lemon squash. One little reminder is that the environment is relatively small but cozy. Though after closing the hotel door I won’t hear the noise from outside but the stairs hallway would give me a little bit scary feature as I was alone. In conclusion, it’s still an amazing experience.

The location of this hotel is very good. Few min walk from train station that goes everywhere. But what we find funny was how the hotel don’t provide daily house keeping. They only provide limited house keeping with a charge of 1500yen a day. The staff is really nice but they have very very minimal English ability, however they still try their best to answer your questions. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Itabashi Center Hotel is along the highway, across from Itabashi Kuyakushomae Station (Mito line), and a half mile walk from Oyama Station (Tobu Tojo line). I chose this hotel because it is near Oyama, an area I lived part-time in during the early 1990s. So I came back to see it thirty years later. The hotel is a typical understated business hotel. Check in was easy and my room on the fourth floor is fine. It’s not large and is most comfortable for solo travelers. The location is near the highway and there is a bit of noise, but I slept well and didn’t notice it. The view out my window is the wall of the neighboring building. Perfect because it is quieter than those that may be fronting the highway. Shower is warm, bed is comfortable, and my floor is quiet. And the cost is quite reasonable for Tokyo. Visitors to Japan may prefer to stay in the more touristy areas, but for people who know their way around Tokyo, this is an inexpensive, yet comfortable place to stay for business in the area beyond Ikebukuro. I enjoyed my stay.

I stayed at the Ohedo for a single night. The hotel is very good for a short stay. The rooms are pretty small but it’s understandable since its location is in Tokyo. The staff are quite friendly. They also offer breakfast in the morning. You can ask for seconds on coffee, bread (western breakfast), rice (eastern breakfast). It was delicious and good quality. Overall the property is no frills and straight forward. However, it is clean, quiet and convenient. Ikebukuro train station is very near. There are also many restaurants and shops in close proximity.

I stayed for 7 nights on way to see family in OZ from the UK, my reason for choosing Sakura Ikebukuro was that I was stopping off to see my daughter who is doing a year at nearby Rikkyo University. The first thing is to say that there were very helpful reception staff who spoke good English. It's on a reasonably quiet street (for Tokyo). I stayed in a single room, there was a sign in the lobby that no visitors are allowed in rooms. I have no experience of Japanese hotels and was told they are generally very small, but this was fine, the bed was probably a small double, so generous for one. There was no cupboard space but some hooks on the wall to hang clothes, but that wasn't an issue for me. Below the window was a large shelf (with TV that I didn't use) and sockets to recharge my devices. There was an ensuite and the shower was over a small bath but plenty of hot water and good pressure. I took the breakfast option in the cafe across the road that was cheap but basic, thick white toast with butter and jam and coffee. You could buy yourself an extra boiled egg if you wanted one. I think my rating overall was a 4.5 but as that's not an option I've gone for the full 5 on the basis of how friendly and helpful the staff were. Overall good value for money for the single traveller.

Great hotel for an afforable price. I booked a small room which had everything you need. Good WiFi connection. The room was super clean and was cleaned thoroughly every day. The location is great as well, many convenience stores and various restaurants located right next to the hotel. Only 7-10 walking minutes away from the closest metro station, yamanote line and the bustling Ikebukuro center. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at New Star Ikebukuro Hotel ☺️

The disadvantage is that there will be Japanese time reminders on the floor every morning. There is no room after a few minutes. I usually find a place as close as possible from the subway station. When I first traveled, I paid more than 60,000 won per night, but I went around many times and found the charm of the guesthouse!
