We got a map on arrival with all the to do’s close by, and taxis were organised by the host. They do have bikes to rent for free as well, if you like to go on a bike ride. Great! The room was very pleasant. Unfortunately we found not only mosquitoes but also a big hairy spider in our room (look for it in the photos), so one night wasn’t that relaxing. I was afraid, the spider would drop on our bed during the night. Mosquito nets would be a big upgrade for the rooms. ;) But that put aside, we would always come back.

It was a great experience staying in Huangling: the lady at the front desk was nice, the butler service was considerate, and Huangling was uniquely beautiful in the rain! 1. The accommodation manager confirmed the itinerary by phone the day before departure, and also sent a guide and tips via WeChat. Very thoughtful. 2. After checking in at the service center at the foot of Huangling Mountain, tickets and ropeways were given with the housing registration voucher. Now in the off-season, I bought a ticket and a cableway ticket for the children at a discounted price of 100 yuan (120 online, 115 discounted) 3. After getting off the ropeway, a kind-hearted uncle helped to carry the luggage. The housekeeper of the B&B also sent a battery car to pick up and drop off the luggage. (The tourist service center on the mountain also arranges butlers to help guide the way and carry luggage to the place where you stay.) It is convenient and saves effort. 4. Because it hadn't been cleaned yet when we checked in, the lady at the front desk upgraded us to a family room for free, which is a private courtyard on three floors. We go into a hall and go up the stairs to a room with a bathroom. 1.5m bed. There is a suite on the third floor, as well as snacks. The lady kindly reminded me that it’s a bit cold in the mountains and the air conditioner can be turned on all the time. It’s quite a compliment👍I’m really surprised and grateful! 5. The breakfast porridge, noodles, some vegetables, and peach cakes and other dry snacks on the mountain are relatively abundant on the mountain, especially there are many kinds of steamed buns. 6. The hotel rooms are actually split among many of the buildings around Huangling. Despite looking like an old building on the outside, the inside was furnished like a modern hotel room. Check-in is at the lower cable car station. There's a shuttle service that picks you up from the upper cable car station and takes you to the hotel reception area. From there you'll walk to your room, wherever it happens to be. Breakfast buffet was Chinese-style with multiple options.

We had the best time in this stay, the lady was so kind to us that we feel like we had no way to give back the attention and care she provide for us during our stay. The location of this house is perfect, providing amazing views of the city river and fields around. We had breakfast and lunch which the aunt cooked beautifully and was some of the best food we had in China so far! The room was very artsy, comfortable with nice linens and towels, good water temperature and pressure, and you could see there was a lot of attention to detail. We had a problem with our taxi driver not being able to receive our payment due to international card restrictions and the lady was so kind to help us without asking for anything in return, we will never forget. Also she spoke a little English which is very helpful!! We hope to come again and stay for longer. 💗🙏
