The Emmanuele II Arcade is a covered mall named after the first king of Italy after the reunification of Emmanuele II, located in a prominent position on the north side of Milan's Cathedral Square and connected to Scala Square. Originally designed by Giuseppe Mengoni in 1861, built between 1865 and 1877, it is the ancestor of modern sealed glass shopping malls, it adopts the popular shopping mall design of the 19th century, with glass covering the top.
