Nanshan Temple Nanshan Temple is located in the south of Danxia Mountain on the south bank of the Jiulong River in Licheng District, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is backed by Danxia Mountain in the south and faces the Jiulong River in the north. It covers an area of 40,000 square meters. According to the records of "Longxi County Zhi·Monuments", it was originally named "Baoyu Chongfu Temple", built by Prince Taifu Chen Yu during the Kaiyuan period (713 ~ 741 AD). Nanshan Temple, one of the eight major attractions of Zhangzhou , is a famous Buddhist monastery with a history of more than 1,200 years at home and abroad.
