St. John's Church is an Anglican church founded in 1874 when British priests visited Hakodate. Once destroyed by fire and constantly rebuilt, the building is now rebuilt in 1979. It features an impressive cross-shaped roof. The church was built with medieval engineering and incorporated into modern design, except for the four facades engraved with crosses, and the same design concept as many medieval cathedrals, the main body of St. John's Church is also based on the shape of the cross, which is a cross shape when overlooking from above. In addition, the organ and painted glass inside the church are also a highlight.
