Ancient Settlement
Capt.Dell_A380Nagoya Castle was constructed by the Owari Domainin 1612 during the Edo period on the site of an earlier castle of the Oda clan in the Sengoku period. Nagoya Castle was the heart of one of the most important castle towns in Japan, Nagoya-juku, a post station on the Minoji road linking two of the important Edo Five Routes, the Tōkaidō and the Nakasendō. Nagoya Castle became the core of the modern Nagoya and ownership was transferred to the city by the Imperial Household Ministry in 1930.Nagoya Castle was destroyed in 1945 during the bombing of Nagoya in World War II and the reconstruction and repair of the castle has been undergoing since 1957.

The main hall of atsuta Jingu shrine is dedicated to the five gods of Takesono, Miyazaki, Amaterasu omikami, Suki Naruto, and Inazusa no Mikoto. Observation Deck
DanaI always pass by this piece of architectural art everytime I go to Sakae. The Nagoya TV Tower may no longer be accepting visitors recently, but it will never stop awing people with its beauty. It looks look Paris's Eiffel Tower in one glance. It is best to see it at night when it is all lit up. Unfortunately, recently, the local government of Nagoya has stopped lighting up the tower. I don't know the reason why, but yes, they did that. The tower is located inside Hisaya Odori Park and is readily accessible via all types of public and private transportation.

Temple
DanaŌsu Kannon Temple is one of my favorite places in Nagoya. Other It is such a popular temple in the city that many people visit it during holidays. They also have a lot of Doves flying around, and people can choose to feed them. During holidays and local festivals, the temple grounds usually have Food Stalls lining up. Foods in these food stalls are quite affordable. The best thing about visiting Ōsu Kannon is the fact that the Ōsu Kannon shopping district is just right next to it. So basically, you can go shopping right after you marvel at the beauty of the temple. How convenient is that?

Nagoya Travel Tips

About Nagoya

Nagoya is located in the center of Japan, between Tokyo and the cities of Osaka and Kyoto. It serves as a metaphorical and literal bridge between Eastern and Western Japan. The ancient history here runs deep, being the birth place of Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, three heroes of Japan’s Warring States Period. If you want to feel as though you live in the time of heroes, pay a visit to Nagoya Castle. Atsuta Shrine and Osu Kannon Temple are excellent locations to learn about the culture of Japan. If you feel more at home in modernity, then the avant-garde Oasis 21 shopping center and the prosperous Sakae District are great locations for shopping and snacking alike. JR Central Tower is considered the gateway to Nagoya, a perfect destination for food, shopping and entertainment.
