It is Manchester’s finest art museum, with a large collection of British art and works by many European masters, free for visitors to enjoy, including Turner’s watercolours and the UK’s premier pre-Raphaelite artwork. There is also a permanent collection of 20th century British art. During the visit, I found that the exhibits were mainly oil paintings, and there were some Chinese art in the permanent collection.
