2017 is Rodin's Centennial birthday. There is no reason not to pay homage to Rodin, but also to cherish the memory of female artist Carmel Claudel. In an era when female sculptors almost did not exist, the genius Carmel was overwhelmed by pressure, not Rodin's pressure, not Rodin's own fate, but the pressure of Rodin's influence (and the society he symbolized). If she wants to overcome it, she can only make her mind philosophical, or like her brother poet Paul Cloudel has faith as well, but she's artistic, passionate, destructive (and totally socialized). The last picture is Carmel's work "Mature Years" (collection of the Oscar Museum of Art).
