I visited Chiang Mai for a few days. The Valentier Cafe and Hotel was a great choice as it is near many places of interest. The street the hotel is on is quiet and has many interesting cafes and restaurants. It's in a cool neighborhood in Old Chaing Mai. The room was super cozy and comfortable. AC worked very well and was super quiet. The hotel has a pool perfect for families with small children. I definitely recommend the Valentier Cafe and Hotel

Highly recommended accommodation in Chiang Mai~ The owner and son are very friendly and the facilities are very clean. Please keep it clean too. The location is convenient to go anywhere in the old town. There is a cafe in the lobby on the first floor, making it convenient to take a break while coming and going. You can borrow a hair dryer if you ask at the counter. I hope many good guests come~

The advantage of staying in a hotel within the old town is the convenience for dining, entertainment, and activities. It's also very close to the popular jazz bar. The breakfast here is definitely a highlight; it's as good as going out for brunch. The lobby is also very comfortable to sit in, and the service staff are all excellent. However, hotels in the old town generally have very poor soundproofing. You can basically hear the neighbors as if there's only a thin sheet of paper separating you, and the upstairs noise is also very, very loud. If the room type allows, staying on the top floor might be much better. I barely slept the first night because of the noise and only managed to get a full night's sleep on the second night after buying earplugs from several different places. Also, note that the hotel rooms do not provide slippers.

The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. Even though it's located in a small alley, the location is still very convenient with a small night market right across the street. The cute cats and dogs resting and running around on the ground floor were adorable!

Honestly, the bathroom in the basic room type was quite small, and the water quality was just average; my shower head turned a bit yellow. Overall, the room hygiene was good, and the front desk staff were very friendly. Upon check-in, we received drink vouchers that could be used at the lounge on the first floor, but the selection was quite limited. The breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular, but it had all the essentials. The hotel's location is very convenient. Just a short walk through the alley next to it leads to the Chang Klan Night Bazaar, and it's not far from the Michelin-starred restaurant Ekachan. We stayed here for two nights, and then moved to the Old City for the remaining two nights. Due to time constraints, we didn't get to visit the rooftop bar, but I heard it's quite good. The hotel attracts a lot of European and American tour groups; every time we returned, we'd see tour buses coming and going. However, luckily, we didn't hear much noise in our room this time.

The doorman was excellent; he took our luggage to the room and even helped us load it into the car when we checked out. We exchanged 20 *zhu* for two small elephants [presumably a local currency/custom]. The downside was that the air conditioning was blasting as if it were free, making it very cold. The worst part was the loud air conditioning noise at night.

There are many massage parlors near the hotel, and a 7-Eleven is just a 5-7 minute walk away. It was very relaxing to buy food and microwave it directly on the first floor of the hotel. It's also convenient if you need to store anything cold. It's a shame I missed out on the hotel's free breakfast, which is served from 7 AM to 10 AM, as my itinerary was already set. There's even a swing set outside the hostel floor. They offer free luggage storage and there's an elevator, which is quite convenient. I found my room type to be clean, with no insect issues, and the bed was comfortable and spacious. The hotel's name is short and convenient for ride-sharing apps, making it easy to get back. The staff were very friendly and tried their best to help with anything needed. I even asked them to hold an item for a friend staying on the hostel floor to pick up at the front desk.

We loved our stay at the Viangluang resort with two minor exceptions: 1. The water did not mix well in the shower so we either got scorching hot water or cold. Warm water was very hard to achieve and required constant moving of the shower knob. 2. We were placed on the third floor and there were no elevators. So we had to walk up 3 flights of steps. Most of the times it wasn't a problem with the exception of when we came exhausted from a whole day of exploring Chiang Mai and/or when we forgot something in the room and had to return to get the item. My husband is 60 years old and it was a bit of a challenge at times. Perhaps we could have asked to change the room to a floor below but we didn't. 3. The water in the pool was freezing cold and almost no one could enable swim in it. Other than that we loved our stay! The breakfast was great, the room was  beautifully decorated and clean. The pool was charming but very cold. The service and attention to detail was outstanding! I would recommend it and stay there again if we could have a 1st or 2nd story room and water in the shower was working well.

I got the room without the swimming area. For what you pay, you get wooden tiled floor, a giant tv and an efficient air conditioner. Great sleep quality. Beds are firm but comfortable for sufficient sleep. There was a nice sit out and convenient laundry facility. My only problem was the smoking area is right at the entrance. Housekeeping tends to come under the influence of vile spirits but cheerful people at the reception made my stay worth it. Towels had an odd smell to them. There was a giant roach in my room. Location is near perfect with tasty food around. Great value. Perfect for a longer stay.

Facilities: Very Thai-themed. The fruit platter and afternoon tea were both exquisite and plentiful. The drinks were also delicious. Hygiene: Initially, there was a half-empty bottle of water by the pool, but the front desk lady immediately had staff come and clean it up. Environment: As someone who has visited Thailand more than ten times, I really love the environment. Service: Attentive and professional. I really enjoyed the breakfast.
