I visited Chiang Mai for a few days. The Valentier Cafe and Hotel was a great choice as it is near many places of interest. The street the hotel is on is quiet and has many interesting cafes and restaurants. It's in a cool neighborhood in Old Chaing Mai. The room was super cozy and comfortable. AC worked very well and was super quiet. The hotel has a pool perfect for families with small children. I definitely recommend the Valentier Cafe and Hotel

The advantage of staying in a hotel within the old town is the convenience for dining, entertainment, and activities. It's also very close to the popular jazz bar. The breakfast here is definitely a highlight; it's as good as going out for brunch. The lobby is also very comfortable to sit in, and the service staff are all excellent. However, hotels in the old town generally have very poor soundproofing. You can basically hear the neighbors as if there's only a thin sheet of paper separating you, and the upstairs noise is also very, very loud. If the room type allows, staying on the top floor might be much better. I barely slept the first night because of the noise and only managed to get a full night's sleep on the second night after buying earplugs from several different places. Also, note that the hotel rooms do not provide slippers.

Advantages: 1. The hotel is right next to the Tapei Gate. It is very convenient to travel. It is about a 20-minute walk to the fruit wholesale market and a 20-minute walk to the Saturday Night Market. The Sunday Night Market is next to me. This is my choice. The reason for staying here for six days. 2. The hotel looks relatively new and the bedding is clean and tidy. 3. The garden view room is not large. On the first floor, it is actually a mini pool and inflatable swan. It is suitable for children to play with water. It is also convenient to dry clothes (preferably bring a rope). Of course, If you live above the second floor, there is a place to dry clothes on the small balcony. 4. Although the shower room in the bathroom is small, the bath water is hot and large enough to drain water quickly. However, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided. Please bring your own. Others include slippers and bathrobes. 5. There are free snacks and drinks for continuous living, but it will not be clear for a few days. Coffee and tea and bottled water are available daily. 6. For breakfast, order a set meal at the cafe next door. There are three kinds of set meals, but they are basically enough. Disadvantages: 1. The front desk is very small, just a small table, no lobby, only a few benches outside the door for hotel guests to rest. 2. The cleaning in the next few days is more casual, the toilet is occasionally brushed, and the shower is not carefully cleaned. Sometimes I forget to put on a new bath even if I run out of it. The swimming pool is not very clean, even if it is cleaned with a robot, it is not much better, but because there are many mosquitoes outside, it will not be studied.
