We stayed at G&G Firenze Suites during a quick 'bucket list' tour of Italy in March '23. Having had a bad accommodation experience in Rome, G&G Firenze Suites is at the opposite end of the spectrum. Located near Firenze Santa Maria Novella Railway Station, getting to the property is easy. It also makes a half-day train trip to Pisa viable and has easy access to the airport via the T2 tram line (1.5 euros – validate your ticket on the tram or you will be fined!!!). The property has excellent security. As you enter the reception area you can see the property is modern, fitted to a very high standard, and has been tastefully and thoughtfully designed by the owners. Giusi the co-owner is lovely and shared some good local knowledge with us about places to see and do in Florence during our visit. Our suite was at the rear of the property on the third floor, where the high standards continue. The suite has all of the facilities a modern traveler would expect and more. The bed was very comfy and the room had good air-con. We particularly appreciated the coffee machine and USB ports! The bathroom is fantastic with a really good shower. There is even a balcony to sit on and have a beer! Very comfortable indeed! It was difficult to reconcile the peace and quiet of the suite compared to the hustle and bustle of the city outside, and it was a pleasure to come back to tranquillity and luxury and recuperate! Did not partake in the breakfast but it looked very good indeed! Significant points of interest in the city and a good choice of restaurants are nearby. There is a McDonald’s, an excellent patisserie, and a supermarket all within two minute's walk. Florence is a really lovely city. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at G&G Firenze Suites, it was perfect, and we highly recommend it to you! Thank you Gusi and Giuseppe for our lovely stay!

Second time staying at this cosy safe space - it’s just right opposite to train station, hence expect noise. But I like the cleanliness of the venue and friendly staff. It is just right above McDonald - great for quick Night snack 😱😃 Close to supermarket. Easy walk to main tourist spots. Visit the Firenze central market - me & my family visit there for cheese & ham, salami etc. they have eatery on upper level as well. Few self laundry place just 5 min walk from hotel - search for express wash. Great wifi. Great bathroom. Great amenities. Overall it’s on the pricy side as very likely it is easy to find something less but here does make us girl travellers feel safe - though at night time, some people do hop around the front door so just take note of it - never created any problems for us so far! Key card in & out - security seems to be highly regarded.

The location is magnificent, opposite the train station, and a few minutes walk from the Duomo and the main attractions. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and bright. Many details are missing. The dishes were very uneven, what was left. The one we booked was an apar**ent for four in which there was a knife, two glasses, more lids than pots. There was no cloth, oil, detergent, everyday items that are not carried in the suitcase. At check-in we asked for a jug to heat water since there was none. They agreed to bring it that night, which did not happen any of the five days of our stay. Cleanliness could improve, we found a hair tie from another guest. The shower didn't drain well.

The breakfast tastes good, the variety is definitely not as good as the hotel, the location is very good, 5 minutes from the railway station, 15-20 minutes to various attractions, the service is very intimate, the hotel must inform the store to pick up, check-in is not in the same place.

The room is clean and quiet, the owner is warm and the service is attentive. The items can be stored free of charge in advance, and the items can be stored free of charge upon check-out. The price is relatively low in the local area, and the price is very high. The elevator that enters the door is very characteristic. Has it been used for 30 years?

This little boutique hotel, was a great choice. I went back and forth, for months, as to whether or not I should book this hotel. I am so glad that I decided to. Not only was the location fantastic, but the rooms were very clean, and beautifully decorated. The room we had, was so bright with natural light, during the day. I requested a room on a higher floor, with a street view, and it was given to me. We heard no disturbing street noise, at night. The rooms and the bathrooms, have been recently updated, with a modern makeover... a rustic-chic look. Our room had a heating unit, and was nice and cozy at night. The twin beds were very comfortable, for a great night's sleep. Each side of the bed had an outlet, so we could charge our phones. We had no issue with wifi in the room. Now about the location. Awesome! After arriving by train, we walked out of the main entrance, of the S.M. Novella train station, crossed the street, turned the corner at the McDonald's, and walked 1-2 minutes down. The whole trip from the station, was about 5 minutes. The entrance is in-between the supermarket, and the Chinese food restaurant. (I tried the Chinese food, and it was yummy.) You will see a buzzer for Hotel Berna, press it, and they will ring you up. (We arrived during normal business hours, so after hour entrance may be different.) There is a tiny lift, that only one of us could fit in, with 2 large luggage strategically placed, while sucking yourself in for the short ride. Otherwise, you will be dragging luggage up to the 3rd floor, I believe it was. There was a breakfast room, with tables available. We did not eat breakfast here, as we started sightseeing early. After we checked in, we headed out to see what was in the area. Within 10-15 minutes walking, we stumbled upon the breathtaking Cathedral of S.M. del Fiore. About another 10 minutes walking, we came to the beautiful Palazzo Vecchio. After another 10 minutes, we wondered out at the river, with Ponte Vecchio 3 minutes walk away. Everything was near this hotel. The next day when checking-out, the lady at the desk asked if we wanted to store our luggage, until our train left. We were all to happy to take her up on the offer, and it worked out perfectly. We had enough time before our train, to go back to the train station, find the tabacchi shop, and buy a ticket for bus #12, to the Piazzale Michelangelo. Upon returning to the hotel to get our bags, we were offered to use the restroom before heading out. We first said no, but thought about it, and used it. The bathroom had a full shower, and room to groom yourself, and get dressed. The hotel clerk explained this was a courtesy to their guests, that had a later train or flight. You can freshen up, before you go. Genius! We had a great stay at this hotel, and will come back, if in Firenze.

We were a night here and I have to complimente with the staff to offer first of all kindness and professionality, but the rooms are not only clean, very large. Strategic location because at a few meters from the SMN station and the center. Breakfast is served in the front bar with tickets that the structure offers you with 3 different modes including sweet and salt breakfast, but in the room c is the service the' camomila and nescafe', Besides a small refrigerator with water and some bathroom, I can only make a review hopefully returning to it. Room really equipped with all the comforts! 👏

Have just spent 3 nights here with my wife. Cannot recommend the Old Florence enough. Ideally positioned to be able to visit all the major attractions. Literally no more than 3 minute walk to the railway station. We stayed in room 7 which overlooked a courtyard. There was a bit of noise first thing in the morning but not enough to give us cause for concern. The room was big enough, warm enough and the en-suite suitable. The breakfast tray was enough to set you up for the day. There is a very well stoked supermarket literally 3 doors away from the hotel. Our host provided some great recommendations for nearby restaurants. Just a word of warning though to anyone planning on visiting Florence on a Monday, most of the major tourist attractions are not open on Mondays so make sure you plan well in advance, pre-book your tickets for the places you want to visit.

Words cannot describe the experience we had here. We had gotten here pretty late and just made it in time for dinner after checking in. Everything was fine at this point. We got back to the room and we rinsed off some clothes in the sink (Socks, underwear, etc) as we are backpacking and have limited clothing. Then we went to shower and within seconds the floor filled up with dirt, brown water, and hair. After jumping out we called the emergency line to have it fixed, no answer. I searched around for the front desk receptionist and eventually the front desk receptionist came down from his room as he saw me on the camera. He tried plunging it for 15 or so minutes and couldn’t get it fixed. He said we wouldn’t be able to shower tonight and would have to wait for the morning so I immediately asked for some sort of compensation back as we had no shower or bathroom at this point because the floor of the bathroom was covered in this dirty water. He said I would have to speak to the manager in the morning. We planned on using wash cloths to at least clean our bodies to the best we can in the lobby bathroom sink as we were sweaty and dirty from the flight in. We called the number again for more wash cloths, no answer. So I went to closet where I saw he had them and got some more but he must have saw me again on the cameras and ripped the towels out of my hand and started yelling at me in Italian. The only words I got were “are you f****** stupid” after consistently trying to explain what we were trying to do I took him down to the bathroom and showed him and gestured at what we were trying to do. He then continued again to insult me and yell. Eventually he calmed down and grabbed me some towels and said “you will pay for this”. We cleaned off and went to bed for maybe 2-3 hours. Then came banging on the door. We came out and they told us we need to leave and that we had to pay $300 to fix the shower and then we would get a refund (we only paid $150 for the room). The only thing we had touched was the sink which still worked perfectly fine and the plumber that had come even insisted that we did not cause the damage. After arguing back and forth with the “manager” we left as they were calling the cops. If you are planning a stay here and read this review please reconsider and DO NOT STAY HERE.

Convenient location in the center and the train station in an ancient building, modern and comfortable rooms, typical B&B breakfast without many pretensions, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed; our room had 2 small balconies overlooking a busy street so it was very very noisy at night also because the windows are equipped with single glass and did not even close well. Friendly and helpful staff, they allow luggage storage.

I am not writing this type of reviews often, but unfortunately this time I have to in order to reflect the reality about this hotel. Prior to this hotel we stayed at another hotel in Rome also 4-star that we really enjoyed (price level and distance from city center was similar). Firstly, I would like to point out that this hotel, even though it has 4 stars, cannot be considered to be a European-level 4-star hotel at all, at maximum a refurbished 3-star hotel. Given the price and its location, I would like to tell you straight, it is quite expensive for what you get, especially given the further circumstances described below. Secondly, I have not read many negative reviews regarding the noise level, but would like to shed some light on that. Even though we asked for a quiet room, we got the room facing the hotel parking and front road. I cannot say that there was a lot of noise from the road, but you could definitely hear cars from the road. But the biggest problem is the noise insultaion, or more precisely its complete absence. We could hear our neighbours talking in the other room like they were in our room. Our neighbours were awake until late night and we could hear them receiving messages while chatting on the phone and it seemed like the phone was vibrating each time near your ear. There was also noise from outside and other neighbours (it was partially not clear where it was coming from), so overall an awful experience also given the fact that each room has roller blinds and some people are using them at night and each time you can hear the mechanism working (it is quite loud). When people flush in other rooms, it sounds like it starts raining heavily. To sum up, insulation is really bad. Thirdly, the room was furbished at the level of refurbished 3-star hotel, the old hairdriers from the 20th century, only one card key, thus you cannot leave the AC on when you leave the room. Room was not ventilated at all once we arrived, so it was very hot to sleep and smell was not very pleasant. Breakfast at the level of 3-star hotel maximum and they do not let people finish their breakfast telling at 9:55am that you have to leave in 5 minutes since the breakfast time ends at 10am. As a cherry on the tart, when we were leaving we were told that the water in the room was not complimentary when we arrived, even though we did not found anywhere information with pricing of water in the room. When I asked where we could find price list for water in the room, as I belive it should be clearly placed in a visible spot, the person at reception firstly insulted us in Italian (not knowing that we speak Italian) and then just answered arrogantly ”it is in the room”, showing that he does not want to speak with us. Unbelievable and unacceptable behaviour from staff, you are paying them for being treated in such a manner... Overall, I understand that Florence is an expensive and crowded city, but in this instance when we unfortunately had only extremely negativ

First off our triple room didn't look like the picture but worse was that it had a sewage smell. When I spoke to the front desk they said nothing could be done that day however they could change our room the following day before 2pm. When I went back the same individual gave me a hard time saying it was too late the rooms were cleaned etc. I persisted with what he told me the day before and then with agitation asked what was wrong with the room. I told him it was the sewage smell, he asked in Italian one of the staff if it was true and she confirmed in Italian that it was defiantly smelly. Needless to say I understand Italian but did not lead on. He stated there was a room available but much smaller. The female took us up to see the room and we agreed to change as room did not smell. I did not question him on the difference in price as he was so unapproachable. We learned latter that day that the air conditioning did not work, so we had to keep the window open through the entire time. Needless to say that it was very noisy as the room back into the alley way. I WOULD ALSO like to say the breakfast was poor selection however the gentleman that worked there was very efficient in keeping the cappuccinos going and cleaning up the tables to make room for all to sit. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOTEL AND WILL ADVISE EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE. WE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS PLACE, I FEEL WE WERE ROBBED.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

This is a lovely, clean hotel with good facilities and location and an excellent breakfast. It has a very traditional decor, with a modern bathroom. Our room was pleasant enough but the window faced a wall and had huge shutters which we couldn't open. Hence, there was hardly any natural light in the room. I also found the staff a bit unfriendly, especially at the reception desk. There was no greeting if you walked past, and they did seem slightly condescending - not the usual friendliness you would expect on a reception desk. The staff at breakfast were much nicer. I liked this hotel, but a little friendliness and a smile go a long way and would have enhanced our stay.

The hotel was really good. It is NOT located in the center city. It took about 25 minutes in a wheelchair to get to the city. The setting was beautiful. The resturaunt food was about average and really expensive. After the first night eating dinner there, we decided to do something else. We really enjoyed our aperitivo was great. The only thing that would keep us from staying there would be if we wanted to stay in the center of excitement.

I have seen there are no recent reviews so will update you on our visit. First off this is NOT a hotel and they do not have any services at all. They don't advertise that so it is what is says a B&B. Our room way extremely small even for europe rooms. The bathroon was the size of a telephone booth. The drain did not work at all and within 2 minutes the pan was filled and overflowing into the bathroom. You can not use the shower bascially. The air conditioning works but sounds like there are coins bashing around in it and can't really be used at all. No way to sleep in the room with that noise.. its not just a little noise it rattling really loudly. The person that run the place is only there from 2-6pm. He was very nice and helpful. If you need anything after that you are on your own. He said call him and he can come back. But hardly feels right calling a guy to run over to bring extra towels. While the location is excellent..... without a fan or air conditioning the outside noise it unbearable. Loud parties and people have fun below until at least 4:00am. I think I was dosing here and there as I heard about 30 people signing happy birthday at 3:30am. I know we had the smallest room but had I been there a second night I would have checked out a day early. This again is not a hotel I would say its a dorm room with a view.

No elevator, no elevator, no elevator! The important thing is said three times! If you want to climb a narrow staircase to the upstairs with a huge suitcase, you must choose this hotel! The shower room is terrible. The shower has a red, yellow and blue light, and the entire bathroom is colored. Service is general, active awareness is not strong! But a young girl at the breakfast bar was particularly enthusiastic. I had to miss the train that day. She packed it for me early, very good!

Liked · The room was HUGE .. literally you could play football in it! Grand room with very high ceilings .. felt like we were truly in a Palazzo with wonderful frescos in the ceiling The location of across the bridge from the Ponte Vecchio and I think I would prefer to have been on the more central part of town if I am honest. Disliked · Its actually too big .. to the point that heating or cooling takes at least an hour to get to the required temperature! The bathroom is small and the one major issue we had was the smell. Really bad gutter smell when we arrived and the rooms smell got progressively worse! Breakfast is a croissant and some fruit so very basic and one person seems to do everything .. front desk, room assistance, serving coffee and brekkie etc

This four room small lodging was perfect for our Florence visit. It’s located on the third level of a large building. You have to walk up one level to the elevator but the owner carries our bags up for us. Our room was sparkling clean and attractive with a tv and instant coffee and tea and a refrigerator. The shower is small but workable. They don’t serve breakfast but our rate includes a voucher for a local restaurant for 7€ each per day of stay. We came to Florence after taking a 7-day river cruise, a perfect way to end our Europe holiday. The Santa Maria Novella is a great hotel that's close to everything. Easy walking distance to main attractions, 10+ good restaurants around the block alone. The room was spacious, great bathroom. Room service was excellent! This is somewhat of a rarity nowadays and we were very impressed. Tip: if you can, get a room that faces the piazza. Ours was interior-facing and our view was plumbing. The concierge was very helpful at all hours and the breakfast buffet is truly the best. I could have made that my main meal of the day! The train station is a convenient walk, and the bus too. Take the #7 up to Fiesole for a day. One of the best views in all of Italy!

The location and facilities of this apartment are actually okay. Florence has been there many times. Compared with the hotels near the core area, it takes about 15 minutes to walk. The price of 4 people is still OK. But here we need to focus on complaining about Ctrip. This apartment belongs to a company that operates many homestay apartments in Florence. It uses contactless check-in. Now it is very common at home and abroad. However, using this check-in method requires complete communication in advance. Some need to register relevant information online in advance, and the homestay will inform the check-in guidelines. After the booking confirmation of Trip.com, I did not receive any email or telephone communication until the day of check-in. After contacting Trip.com customer service, they said that they could not contact the relevant agent. Let me leave the email and say that the agent will contact me. The contact number given on Trip.com is also problematic. After waiting for two hours without audio, I finally found the agency company belonging to this homestay online. After contacting by phone, I sent me an email for online registration and relevant check-in guidelines, which was done in 10 minutes. The staff of the homestay company said that they sent a lot of emails and there was no response. I don't comment on what went wrong. But since it is a contactless check-in method, Trip.com does not communicate in advance, no guidance information, and finally no news after looking for customer service. It can be said that there is no action. If there is no relevant experience, it can be imagined that the result is that the local people can't get in, the local contact number is wrong, and the embarrassing situation that can't be solved by Ctrip customer service.

We had an excellent stay at the Villa Belvedere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. I would particularly like to thank Babu Singh who seemed to be there at all times. Always smiling, always helpful and extremely polite. All the staff were excellent. The room was spacious with an outstanding view over the terrace, the pool and Florence in the distance. We could even see the dome of the Duomo. Everywhere was very clean and the room was serviced well every day. On small piece of advice rather than criticism is dining. The hotel breakfast is excellent although no English style breakfast is available you can have bacon and eggs. The selection of a more continental style breakfast is excellent. The hotel staff are most apologetic and insist that they do not run a restaurant but provide snacks. The menu however is comparable with many restaurants and the food excellent. It is sufficient for a light evening meal, is inexpensive and with a good selection of starters, mains and deserts available plus of course some excellent wines. We didn't take advantage of the snacks on offer during the day so I cannot comment. There is always a however....There are a few good restaurants within a mile. The 'Trattoria da Ruggero' is excellent. I would recommend booking through the hotel reception. It is also the nearest. The walk back from all of them except 'In Fabbrica' is up a very steep hill. We didn't go to the Fabbrica as it is not open every day so best check. There is a slight shortcut down some steep, awkward and unlit steps with no handrail. We climbed it several time except when it was very wet. A taxi back costs over 10 Euro. So unless you have a car or find walking difficult it could be expensive. It is also advisable to book as the restaurants get full seemingly every day. The Pizzeria Antica Porta near the roundabout at the bottom of the hill will do their utmost to fit you in, is very friendly, good value and the food is excellent. The bar is small but stocks pretty much any drink you are likely to want and is available most of the day. I would definitely stay there again but with prior knowledge of the dining limitations would plan the day differently. We ate a larger meal at lunchtime and in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Except one day when I think the chef was unexpectedly off. I didn't check with reception as instructed and was disappointed. Not the fault of the hotel staff.

WE totally enjoyed our stay at Il Salotto. Allessandro made reservations for our dinners, looked up train schedules for us and answered all our questions. He even allowed us to enjoy a late checkout. We spent 11 nights here, and enjoyed everyone of them. Our room was large and overlooked Via Roma. Housekeeping was exceptional and the breakfast was fantastic! We have stayed in Florence numerous times, but this is where we will be staying all our future visits.

The hotel is on the edge of a square, and you can directly see the square from the breakfast room on the second floor. The location of the hotel is not bad. The disadvantage is that there is no obvious location sign at the entrance of the hotel. It is difficult to find if you go there for the first time. It is in a small alley and then into a small corridor. turn up. The furnishings of the room are very simple, the TV seems to be a small monitor, the bed is relatively large, and the door of the cabinet is creaking, the overall is very simple or simple? For the sake of cheap prices, and these do not affect the housing, there are no other ideas. The room key is also very simple. An old western long key with a keyhole feels very insecure. The room is simply next to the front desk. Breakfast is relatively simple and there are not many varieties. I only eat eggs and croissants. The overall feeling is that this is an ordinary B&B-level hotel with a local style. It is also an experience to experience the living conditions of the locals.

The location is perfect! Just a few steps to where the action is but far enough from the noise of the evening crowd. Looks like the room is newly renovated. The bathroom is squeaky clean with new fixtures and fittings. The room is cleaned everyday. The reception is located at the second floor. There is no elevator so you need to bring your luggage up the stairs. It is not an issue but just a useful information. Thank you Meg and your husband. You made our stay in Florence truy amazing. Will definitely book again with you.

On the south bank of the Arno River, it is quite convenient. It is not a problem to go in and out of a motorbike. The boss is very enthusiastic. The house is an old house, the floor is relatively thin, and the walk is not strong. It is still very comfortable to live.

Il Bargello is situated in an unbeatable location, close to everything in Florence. The service is very welcoming, and the rooms are in line with the price. The highlight is the abundant and varied breakfast, as well as the 24-hour coffee. The only downside is that we had a lot of luggage and there's no elevator, so we had to climb three long flights of stairs with all our belongings, but this seems to be a common issue in Italy. Interesting fact: in the room next door, there was a couple being very noisy while *********** all day, and it could be heard throughout the entire hotel, which was quite annoying.

I would live there if I could. In fact, I loved staying here so much I posted an Instagram post dedicated solely to the property because it was that beautiful. It goes beyond charming. One day I stayed there for the majority of the day to wander the property, drink aperol spritz’s by the pool, do yoga in the gorgeous gardens and generally relax surrounded by the ambiance that the hotel provides. Imagine being in Florence for the first time and skipping a day off to just hang at the hotel. I loved it. If I ever get married it will be here. The staff were excellent as well! It doesn’t necessarily have the type of amenities of a “standard” hotel does but that’s not why you would want to stay here. It has a family owned (which it is) vibe. Everyone was very helpful and lovely. The place is out of a picture book fairy tale. A highlight of my trip to Florence & Italy…honestly wish I had stayed the whole week there. Next time!

We had such a lovely stay in this place. It is situated less than 10 minutes walk to S.M Novella train station and in the old city center, close to all the main attractions and sights. The place is located in an old building, the rooms were recently renovated, but in a classic way, extremely clean, with all the amenities included, very cosy and comfortable bed. Daniela is such a nice host, she provided very detailed all the steps for the self check-in as we arrived later, and we also received in the morning ‘a small kind of breakfast’, even though it was not included in our booking-just part of the house. :) Strongly recommend, will definitely book this place next time in Florence!

The hotel goes out to the train station for 7 minutes, and there is no need to worry about taking the train. The hotel is very clean, there are many types of breakfast, and the taste is good. The waiter helped to send the luggage to the room, thinking about whether to tip, and the waiter went out. The only downside is that there are no slippers! City tax is 4 euros/day, checkout is paid, you can pay in cash.
