0.51km from Shell HSEService at Hotel Fort Canning is top notch from check in to dining at The Salon to check out. Special mention for Ms Shanna at Front Office & Mr Jonathan Ong at the Salon as well as the Housekeeping Staff. It was a fantastic staycation. My family is so glad that we chose tis hotel for our staycation.

0.62km from Shell HSEI must talk to everyone about this hotel. First of all, this is a hotel, the YWCA Fort Canning Hotel, not the Fort Canning Hotel. I stayed at this hotel for four nights.
First of all, the location and traffic: the hotel is close to Fukang Ning Park (net red tree cave is directly opposite the hotel) and Tomeco subway station (5 minutes walk) This station has two lines, it is convenient to travel, to many attractions Can be direct, or a small transfer, there are bus stations in the northwest direction of the hotel (three to five minutes' walk), you can go directly to the Air Force Mountain Father durian (cheaper and cheaper Cat Mountain King, one was eaten by Chow Yun Fat).
The second said dining. This is a soft underbelly. There is no food around the hotel. I need to go to Dhoby Ghaut subway station recently. After entering the station, there is a lot of food. There are breakfast and lunch. The price is moderate. There is a Korean restaurant. Per capita consumption is about 60 yuan. Free Unlimited drinks and ice cream.
Three said shopping. There are no convenience stores around the hotel. The nearest one should be in the subway station. There is a 711. Inside the restaurant, go hard. The North Street of Meige Station is the Lion City Building. It is a Da Mao. Both, very comprehensive.
Four said hotel conditions. Good health, spacious rooms, service is OK, nothing bad. There is a swimming pool on the third floor. Please note that durian and mangosteen are not allowed in the room. The hotel staff is very good. I have been in Singapore for seven days. Everyone I met was not bad. I did n’t feel any discrimination when I went to Japan and South Korea. I feel that every foreigner is very kind. Maybe it ’s I am lucky.
Finally, to sum up, this hotel is very suitable for travel and living, after all, transportation is the first element.
0.62km from Shell HSEAs others have said, the rooms are very small, but for people who travel with carry-on bags, this hotel has some nice advantages. Most importantly, it was quite clean and very quiet all day and night. The walls in our room were solid concrete. The staff was mature and happy to answer questions. The breakfast was across the street and offered some good hot options such as a noodle dish, tomatoes, eggs, and fried rice. One final good part was that the room had several convenient outlets to charge phones and other electronics. In summary, it's a budget hotel that does many things right and only a block from the river walk and across the street from Clarke Quay subway station.

0.63km from Shell HSEThe standard room is booked, actually a semi-basement. The entrance is tatami and the cleaning is fairly clean. Opposite the tatami is a desk. This should be a disabled room, and the facilities are for disabled people. I don't care. The shower room and the bathroom are not separated. It will be very moist and inconvenient. The bathroom is airtight and there seems to be no ventilation equipment. After a shower in the evening, you can imagine it, just like Shanghai Huangmeitian. When the faucet is opened, the water is easily sprayed on the opposite wall. The wall seems to be a common paint brush, and it is not known whether it is waterproofed. I am all distressed for the wall. The upper part of a wall is glass, not blackout curtains, and there are seams in the two curtains. I want to see it myself. The room didn't take a photo, it really couldn't be shot. I took a corner of the outside courtyard. The villa was changed, and the nice villa was decorated like this. It didn't feel special. The overall attitude of the service staff is not bad. The front desk aunt waiter will greet him. But there is a funny thing. I asked me to live for a few days on the first day, I said one day. The front desk said that if you live for a long time, you can give a better room. Then I didn't speak. Is this training or not training? I don’t know if I don’t know. Real feelings, no filters. I am pulling a grass, thank you.
0.64km from Shell HSEOnly 2 bottled water allowed per room. Request for more bottled water was refused. Water kettle was not working well, kept leaking and unsafe for usage. Had to go to plaza singapura to buy 5L of bottled water from cold storage. Upon request for shavers, they could only provide 1 shaver per room even though 2 pax check in. Extremely unhygienic, luckily we brought alcohol wipes.
Doors are not soundproof and can hear other neighbor’s doors slamming very loudly in the middle of the night. Request for late checkout also turned down even though hotel not fully booked (upon checking, there were many rooms available for booking on trip.com)
TV keeps disconnecting too
At this price point, suggest staying at D’hotel @ tiong bahru instead. Better service and not stingy.
0.66km from Shell HSEFragrance Riverside - Provide place to sleep with ensuite but the most basic of supplies
I know that Singapore has got ridiculously expensive for its accommodation but this was too basic to be considered good value. On the plus side it provides a really clean comfortable bed and separate bathroom in modern setting.
Easy check in, staff very prompt, professional and helpful with directions, reasonable breakfast provided at cost S$10.Convenience shop right next door and Clark Quay less than 5 minutes away, same with subway and Chinatown. Great location. Had a good time in Singapore and location here is fabulous. Close to everything tourist needs or would like to see.
No internet access although promised online. IT testing indicative of hotel cause - interference with private computer use a common risk with travel.
Shampoo dispense broke leaking all its contents on bathroom floor and no shower divider. Considering I broke my leg on slippery surface and bathroom floor tiles hard and slippery this is really dangerous and scary. I told reception but as cleaners gone home nothing done ie I was expected to clean it myself which I did with towels to avoid slipping. This dispenser was fixed the next day by maintenance person. Shame reception staff are so smug it’s considered beneath them.
Ironically another staff member on check out was most helpful to provide towels when water bottle leak got my gear wet.
Room so basic not even day curtains for modesty, only 1 plug for whole room so forget being able to charge your appliances easily, no space even for a chair or wardrobe or even shower divider in bathroom (shower water on toilet seat & forget about hygiene). The bedside table doubles as “workspace”, tea/coffee area and bedside table - adequate but for me just too small. Not sure how couples manage. No space to even do basic exercises I need for my back after flight and struggle to put my two bags anywhere to open. Forget about the possibility of a fridge which for over US100 p/night would’ve be expected in hot climate city.
Cleaning good and great to have own bathroom but expected more amenities eg fridge for price of US$90+ p/night. Space in Singapore isn’t yet at the premium like HK but prices now higher here. Not sure why.
It has a rooftop pool I never knew existed until leaving as no notification. Room not even have guest advice which I'd strongly recommend be introduced. As didn't see it or use it cant advise how it effects value.
0.69km from Shell HSEI read all the reviews here and thinking about bed bugs, I thought it was handled by the hostel and surely the bed bugs are still everywhere. We stayed in the bunk bed room with 8 beds on the 2nd floor. Oh hell, we booked 2 nights here and I could not sleep the entire first night because of the bed bugs. 10 pm tried to lay down on the bed and got bit by bed bug then I killed it, a few minutes later I saw another one crawling over the curtain and I killed again. Could not sleep for the entire night, I needed to back and forth sitting on the couch at the receptionist area. Since the receptionist had already gone by 10 pm, I was alone contemplating myself and tried to get back to bed 1-2 am if I recall. And it still didnt work out, bed bugs everywhere, and got bit again on my arms, my thigh, my neck, and even my thumb. I mean like thats it. I would not be sleeping! Stayed again at the receptionist area surfing browsing my mobile phone reading all the reviews here while browsing for some nearest affordable hostel/hotel thinking to moving out for the next days. Thank God the wi-fi worked really fast so it's a perfect time to kill my time til the next morning. The morning came at 5-6 am and I decided to breathe some fresh air outside by walking, got back and told my friend about what happened last night. My friend managed to sleep even though he shocked by the bit marks by the bed bugs all over the body so yes we decided to move out for the 2nd day. Avoid this place at all cost. Breakfast was nice for hostel, just bread and a couple of jams. Bathroom and toilet a lil bit dirty. Laundry area and sink were pretty clean we can accept that. So til 11 am we decided to early check out and told the receptionist we moving to the friend's apartment (too tired for us to argue since I read the reviews from the same cause complained to them and got transfered to another bed/another room and as resulted the same which was still bitten by the bed bugs) Oh well, at least the receptionist were nice to us. Oh yeah no elevator/lift, all stairs and you all need to put off your shoes on the stairs with the unlocked doors who happens giving me paranoia about some strangers stealing our shoes from outside.
0.69km from Shell HSEThe location is very good. Turn right at Songfa Bak Kut Teh Store, about 200 meters away. 400 meters walk from Clarke Quay. Songfa Bak Kut Teh is 20 meters ahead and turn right is Jumbo Seafood, and 1000 meters ahead along the river bank is the famous Merlion.
excellent service. We left a shoe box on the front desk sofa when we left. Two days later I remembered and called to the front desk, who said there were forgotten items and kept them in the storage room. It will remain intact when retrieved. like!
0.69km from Shell HSEI stayed there for 1 week to explore Singapore highlights. Dorm bed was very comfortable (compared to other hostels elsewhere), with individual light, power outlet and locker. AC at night is much appreciated. Just note that the 10 and 14 beds dorms are actually connected and just separated by a curtain, so you could save few dollars choosing the bigger one. Breakfast is simple but good to start the day, free coffee and tea available all time. Only thing to improve would be to provide split bin for recyclable wastes (and there is a lot of plastics in asia...!) Bathroom is very clean and convenient. Other little downside : the common area are nice but quiet and I think that more comfy seats and more power plugs (travelers are nerds nowadays!) would make the area more welcoming to meet other guests! (and please bring that guitar to repair so guest can play it) Other than that, hostel is very well situated, few minutes away from Clark Quay mall and MRT station, and also very close to Chinatown and the bay and river quays.

0.71km from Shell HSESometimes we overlook our own backyard and get a lovely surprise when the opportunity arises to explore familiar places just that little bit closer. The Warehouse is a gem of a hotel - intimate, comfortable, idyllic location by the river. Most importantly - hospitable staff who were genuinely interested in making our stay a memorable one. Big thanks to Sabrina and Arief for the exceptional customer service. Tip: Go for the (limited) rooms overlooking the river; loan the hotel bicycles and see the sun set (or rise) over the Singapore river on wheels
0.71km from Shell HSEVery enjoyable stay, pristine, amazing beautiful architecture on the exterior and of course interior, including our rooms, the lounge, lobby and of course the pool and terrace. Enjoyed the Club Lounge high tea with coffee and TWG tea selections, local and english tea, champagne breakfast with American and Asian selection, evening cocktails with cheese and snacks. Great service throughout from the Club Lounge staff, pool attendants, concierge, apart from room cleaning lady who was trying to push to clean the room at her own schedule when we were not prepared. Drainage in the room’s shower could be improved as it didn’t drain fast which led to minor pooling. Excellent stay so far (I will be dining at Lime tomorrow) but so far an amazing experience.
Hotels Near Shell Hse In Singapore Review
Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check.
Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again.
I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd.
Trip.com has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too!
After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched!
The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again.
I was also granted late check out!
Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!
There was a 3-hour delay in checking-in but we were reasonably compensated in the form of complimentary parking and dining credits. Kudos to the front desk and concierge staff who were efficient and patient, especially with some unreasonable guests (no need to make things difficult for those who are trying to make your stay better). Food quality of in room dining was good and the safety measure was well managed at the pool. Thank you to all that have served us during our stay, you are Awesome!
Just one thing not so pleasant thou, the service attitude of a particular male staff at Ash and Elm was rather bad that’s why we decided not to dine there. Seemed like somethings don’t change (bad experience with Ash and Elm years back), so except for the restaurant, we would love to come back again 😁
Beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff service was friendly and professional. After the 1st night, was woken up by drilling and hammering noises at 9 plus in the morning. Breakfast in room dining was ordered at 930am, arrived at 1150am as in doom dining department could not cope w the huge amount of orders. Was informed that our breakfast would arrive at 1130am. So first day, wasn't impressed w renovation noises that disrupted our sleep and a breakfast that was more of brunch. Did request for room change and was given another room. Air conditioning in the new room was not working well n had to request for a fan. Overall, the old building and maintenance of the hotel would place it as a 4 star hotel rather than a 5-star rating.
From booking communication through email, Aisyah was the best. Everything went smooth and all our requests was accommodated. Even the room upgrade. Thank you so much Aisyah! :)
Check in was smooth and Vin was really friendly and welcoming. As for the room (1015), it was almost perfect! Room was spacious enough for two and the view was AMAZING!!! Truly a panoramic view. Balcony was great, but it would have been better if there was a brighter light for lounging out during the evening.
Only improvement I guess would be some of the staff being more friendly specially by the pool and beach area. In other Shangri-la, guests would go directly to the beds and a staff will bring the towels and some water for refreshments. We did not experience this here in Rasa Sentosa. Not sure if this is because of covid. But it would still be great if the staff would in those areas be more welcoming and friendly.
Overall, had a great time and had a great birthday celebration. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway from the city. Thank you so much!
Hotel Boss is about the location. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and Lavender MRT Station is 200m away. Bugis and City Hall area is a short bus ride away and Kampong Glam is within walking distance. Check-in was surprisingly quick, given the long queues inside the lobby as well as 2 separate long queues outside the hotel (one along it's drop-off point via Syed Alwi Road and another along its front - Victoria Street). The staff were friendly and welcoming. Pretty good attitude given the large crowd and check-ins.
It's a mid-range hotel with many rooms. The rooms, however, are pretty small. Tiny, I would say. I have got a Triple Room and the distance between the foot of the bed and the desk is about a person's width. The en-suite toilet is tiny too. A big-sized guy like me would hit the wall or the basin when I changed inside the toilet. There are no traditional toilet paper dispenser. Instead, what was installed was a tissue paper in a cylindrical container where you pulled down piece by piece. This was installed by the mirror behind you if you used the bowl, so it was pretty inconvenient. The water strength of the tap and showers were good. Toiletries and towels were provided and replenished/changed daily.
The bed was comfortable but only one pillow was provided and the pillow was thin. The air-con is pretty strong and given the small size of the rooms, the room was cooled pretty quickly. There is no wardrobe but an open-style hanging system was used with 6 hangers. Coffee and tea was provided as well as a kettle. The mini-fridge was great! The strength was great and chilled my drinks quickly.
One really bad thing about Hotel Boss is that they have pretty thin walls. I could hear the muffled sounds of my next-door neighbours talking and the sound of the TV. There were some shouting two doors down and that was audible. Had to call the staff up to handle and they did a pretty good job. The in-room telephone wasn't working well and I could not hear anything after 2 calls down to the reception but they sent a guy up after that to make sure things were good.
Breakfast was provided and served at their 4th floor Halal-certified restaurant. It was a choice between a Chinese or Western set. Serving was great with the typical breakfast items, in addition to yogurt, bread and cereal with milk. There were queues at certain times of breakfast (after 9.30am) but that was probably due to the high occupancy rate.
All in all, I believe the Triple Room I stayed in was too cosy for 3 adults. I loved the service and condition of the room. It was convenient to get to a lot of places. However, one thing to note is that they would locked the front doors (facing Victoria Street) from 9pm-5am and you would have to access via it's drop-off point (facing Syed Alwi Road and Kallang River).
