Fantastic hotel, from the moment we arrived to our departure the service was impeccable. Upon arrival we were informed of the free happy hour(s) and snack time for my kids and the good news just kept on coming. Once we had checked in I turned round to retrieve my suitcases and they were already in my room. Alessandro, who worked on reception, was amazing, not only did he recommend where to eat he also telephoned the restaurant for reservations. I have to say that my favourite restaurant was Osteria Via Elisa. Alessandro was very approachable with a business and funny attitude, he is definitely a credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious, there's a lovely terrace where we ate breakfast. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, the buffet caters for all tastes and diets, the waiters were polite, asked me every morning if I wanted a coffee. Bonus...hot tub was just what I needed after walking around Lucca all day, we reserved our time and spent an hour soaking and relaxing....just missed a glass of Prosecco! Also the hotel offers free bike hire which was great because we rode the length of the wall, its a shame that they didn't offer free bikes for kids but that is the only fault I can find for this hotel and then its only 4euros to hire bikes for kids around the corner. This hotel and its staff are 5 star quality, a gem of a hotel close to everything, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and didn't want to leave. Thank you.From$113

The suites, living room and room are large in size, with a total of 2 large beds, which are very comfortable to sleep. The facilities are slightly old, but the sanitation is very good. A little distance from the city, there is a large supermarket within 15 minutes of walking.From$95

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was without a doubt the best hotel of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip…everything from the lobby, location, staff, room size, breakfast buffet, wifi, bed....it was terrific. The website photos are indicative of the hotel, rooms etc. (look at the gallery and you will see photos of the buffet, rooms, common area etc). First, its in a great location in the old town. Half a block and you are in one of the main plazas. 5 min and you are on the main shopping street of Via Fillungo. The hotel is actually on a bit on the edge of the old town…shortly after you come through the main gate ….so it was VERY easy to drive to ..and drive out of..without getting lost on all the small streets (note: we used google maps and it was telling us to turn just as we got to the hotel..but we saw the hotel just a bit down the street in front of us) On leaving I asked the front desk the easiest way to get out and he said, turn left, then another left..then right…and we were then headed out the main gate of the city. Could not have been easier. The hotel is on a small plaza so easy to park in front of it to unload your luggage..and they have valet parking...for a fee. Front desk staff was super helpful throughout out stay. Our room was very modern, with a great bed, plenty of desk and other space, plenty of plugs, and a large bathroom with a big shower. Wifi was fine. Breakfast was by far the best of all the ones on our trip. Plenty of hot food items, many different pastries, cheesecake and other assorted baked items to choose from, smoked salmon, cold meats and cheeses, plenty of different fruits..and on and on. They also have a nice outdoor patio area on the plaza which made for a wonderful start to our day. Overall, I cannot think of any other hotel I would consider to stay in Lucca. We have just stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and the staff were very helpful. Rooms very clean, sheets good quality, complimentary bikes available for cycling around Lucca and round city walls. Only negative comment - we didn’t enjoy the pre-packed, unappetising croissants and rolls for breakfast. Would stay here again.From$116

Excellent stay. Great location on the square with a carousel and ice skating rink outside our window. Nice rooms (we stayed in #102). BIG breakfast and fantastic dinner at their in-house restaurant ”Legacy”. BTW: Lucca is a great base camp for day trips to Cinque Terre and Pisa. Easy trains to navigate. Easy walk from train to hotel. Special shout outs to Manuel (front desk), Mare, William, Maria Pia, Michela, Venessa, Alessandro, Azzure, and Ricardo (Dinner host in lobby - we had pumpkin ravioli and local Frantoiano soup). Special, special thanks to Manuel for making our (4) nights stay wonderful by answering all our questions and giving some great travel advice too. Hotel La Luna was just a lovely place to stay whilst we explored Lucca and the surrounding area. It was very well located for the Centro Storico, only a couple of hundred yards from the Piazza Antifeatro. The rooms were very comfortable (especially the beds) and were always kept clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the hotel and they were very attentive to guests. There was a good range of foods available for breakfast each day from pastries and cakes to boiled eggs to the traditional cooked meats and cheeses. All in all a very pleasant stay. From$84

This place is a little gem. 10 minutes drive from Lucca and a wonderful base to see the sites around Tuscany. We stayed here for a week and got home yesterday. The staff are amazing a shout out to all the staff in the restaurant at breakfast and evening who we have chats and lots of laughter with they really are a credit to this place. The reception staff were all amazing also nothing was to much trouble always had a smile on their face. The room was lovely and big, beautiful bathroom and amazing windows with shutters. The rooms are clean and big with old style, feeling is similar to the rest of the city. The staff is so gentle, they try to fix anything you need (rooms a little bit in advance, changing somewhere if your room is not available anymore after check out). There is also internal parking space (as extra). Is 300m driving, just be sure your car is not too big. To park they give you a remote to open a small gate. Breakfast is nice and Italian. From here are 2min waking away from the cathedral and close to the center of Lucca

In our room we appreciated the necessary to make tea with cookies. The location and just outside the walls next to the station, you can reach all the interesting places on foot, but for those who do not like to walk a few dozens of meters the buses are going. The private parking is very interesting in front of the hotel. I hope I have the opportunity to come back.
