"The road from Wanaka to the West Coast is closed, and the car can take a detour. On the way through, I chose this high-rated motel. It was quite satisfactory and clean. Although it was on the edge of the main road, there was no car passing by at night. It was still quiet. There is no restaurant in the town, the cockroach can buy it from the supermarket to cook it himself, the kitchen has no exhaust fan, and the dishes have to open the window and open the door for ventilation."

"Nearing the end of our 3 week NZ tour, we had a few 'no vacancy' hiccups. As we wanted to be fairly close to Christchurch, I booked ahead in Darfield. Arriving there (28C outside) was disappointed to find no a/c, room fairly scruffy, TV did not work. Put it down as a bad choice, when 6-8 Motorcycles rode in - having arrived, they amused themselves by testing throttle, riding round car park, before taking rooms immediately above....... Enough was enough, saw manager, left, looking again. Result? Springfield motel, clean, comfortable (a/c!) QUIET, TV worked, REALLY nice host. What more could you ask for? OK, had kitchenette, lounge area, plus b/room. Oh, forgot to mention 50$ CHEAPER than the horror show............"

"We are seasoned travellers and on a road trip around New Zealand. The Riverstone exceeded our expectations for a motel in Rangiora. From our first contact Charlotte & Mike were very pleasant and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Clear concise communications. On our arrival we received a warm and friendly greeting. The room was spotlessly clean with high end furnishings and everything you could need for a short stay. A true bonus was the 74 steps to the bar and restaurant next door. The rooms are well insulated so there was NO noise from the bar next door. We look forward to staying again in the not to distant future. Julie & Martin"

"My husband and I booked the Verandah room in the lodge at Gunyah for 2 nights, earlier this month, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a quit spot to relax for a few days and this is exactly what we got! The house is beautiful and Simonetta has furnished it beautifully. She and the rest of the team did a great job looking after us, checking in too see if we had everything we wanted. She is a fabulous cook and we had 2 wonderful dinners in that beautiful dining room! My husband and I both enjoyed the old world glamour an enjoyed walking around the garden. The house and the garden and Simonetta as custodian are all treasures and I wished we could stay longer! "We did the farm tour and it was amazing. Kit was a wonderful guide. He was charismatic informative and really knew how to make this a great experience. Alpacas were beautiful and I’m looking forward to coming back again Will definitely be booking again and highly recommend"

"Location is good, 10-15 mins walk to the terminal.This is a hostel which we already knew when made the reservation, so no blame on the small room size,rare service, and uncomfortable mixed smell.However, the most terrible thing is the room we stayed is very noisy. The noise came from the neighbors having parties till 2:30am, what’s worse was that finally they finished the party and there was another source of noise caused by Woolworth moving in stock from 5am….. The window of the room cannot be closed tightly, so you can hear all sounds from outside. We rarely have any sleep all night. The TV is Samsung, without any other apps but YouTube. Besides, it can only do screen mirroring on”Android “ cellphones (what? R a kidding me?!) The bathroom: many little scratches on the wall, the most weird thing is the shower hub, the water can “fly” above out of the hub, so every time after a shower, you got a flood in the bathroom. I rarely give negative reviews, but this one deserves. Never come back."
