"Very kind staff speaking French and English. The establishment was well located there are quite a few buses nearby which drop you off in town and at the bus station directly which made our travels easier. Located 10 minutes walk from the beach. Located 10 minutes from the funicular. The bedding was very good, we slept well in a king size. I asked for an extra bed for my 6 year old daughter, she got a real, very comfortable single bed and it was free. The shower was clean. Has a very practical mini fridge. There is a safe and a wardrobe. We did not try the breakfast, it is 13€ for the buffet, 5€ for the continental lunch (3 coffee items, 1 pastries and a juice) There is parking in front of the hotel and a little further down. It’s €4 for the day."

"Although it's a bit far from the old town of Bar, it's very close to the bus stop. It was super convenient as it only takes about 10 minutes to reach the city center by bus, or about 15 minutes if you walk. It's a very comfortable hotel because it's so quiet. There's also a small supermarket just a 2-minute walk away that's open late, which was really handy. The hotel itself is very clean, and the movie-themed rooms, breakfast area, and lobby were all really lovely. The hotel staff were always smiling and kind. They were also very helpful when the Wi-Fi wasn't working, which I really appreciated. I would definitely want to stay here again if I go to San Sebastian. Thank you very much."

"I stayed at Axel San Sebastián for a solo trip and was absolutely delighted by the warm hospitality and friendly vibes. My trip started with a bit of a crisis; I left my luggage on an intercity bus and had a restaurant reservation overlapping with the pick-up time. I was quite overwhelmed, but staff member Tanja was a true lifesaver. She went above and beyond to help me arrange the luggage pick-up and even communicated with the restaurant to reschedule my reservation. Thanks to her incredible support, the rest of my stay in Donostia was seamless and wonderful. The hotel itself is neat, modern, and has a very inviting atmosphere with a fabulous, stylish touch. I also thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi. Between the best service I've ever received and the great energy from fellow guests, I’m leaving Donostia with the best memories. Thank you so much, Tanja and the Axel team! 😊"

"A hotel for instagram maybe. The rooms, communal areas and general vibe was very well curated and styled but it doesn’t function as a hotel in terms of looking after a guest. On arrival no introduction or explanation of the hotel, no information about breakfast etc, nothing. Tried to ask for help at the self service bar to talk me through what was left of the wine list as the available wine didn’t match the price list, staff member didn’t know what was on the list or what was left, I gave up. Whenever I called reception when I was in or out of the hotel no one answered, this happened multiple times. Confusion over parking. When leaving no offer to help with bags, no offer to even open the door for you or help with the lift, nothing. Non existent customer service, the staff though pleasant appear to have had zero training or understanding of hotel work. It photos well though."

"we were mislead by the website. during booking it gives you the possibility to reserve a table ath the gastronomic experience restaurant. it turned out that this was NOT the 3 star michelin restaurant but the "normal" restaurant. (where also the breakfast is served) . there is NO option during the booking process that you are able to reserve a table at the 3 star michelin restaurant."

"The hotel is located in the Gros district, about a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal and within walking distance of both the old and new towns. It's a quiet location along the river. It's quiet, but not lonely. The hotel is small, but it's fully equipped with a restaurant, bar, gym, and more, and the front desk was happy to accommodate our requests. There weren't enough amenities for everyone, but we brought our own, so it wasn't a problem. It was a good value hotel, and we were satisfied with the Japanese sense of cleanliness and attention to detail."
