During the May Day holiday, I stayed in the lake view suite at the Guangfulin Hilton

I didn't feel like joining the crowds nearby during the May Day holiday, so I chose a three-day staycation at the Hilton in Songjiang, Shanghai. It turned out to be very worthwhile. I booked a 'beggar's room' for 3090 yuan for two nights, and upon arrival, I was directly upgraded to a lake view suite, which impressed my wife. The hotel is suitable for families with children, pet-friendly activities, and lazy vacations for couples. Every type of guest can find what they want in the hotel. The lake view suite is very spacious, and with a design similar to a small villa, opening the living room door offers a direct view of the Guangfulin Palace, especially after a light rain when the air is fresher and clearer. It's very suitable for a leisurely walk around the lake, quite comfortable indeed. The executive lounge of the hotel is not crowded, and although the meals are quite ordinary, the view is good. In the evening, pouring two cups of hot tea and having a heart-to-heart talk with my loved one, I completely detached from my usual work and felt like I was back in the days of dating more than a decade ago. Perhaps this is what a real vacation feels like. Lastly, a word about the downside: this Hilton kept urging me to pay every few days after I completed my reservation. I ignored it, and it wasn't until I assured them over the phone that I would definitely come that they let it go. Looking back now, they were probably worried about being left with an empty room if I didn't show up, especially since the location of this Hilton is really top-notch.
