It's easy to see the old church (Oude Kerk) in the old city of the red light district. The Gothic Christian Church was first built in 1306 for fishermen and Saint Nicholas, the guardian of Amsterdam. The medieval style is still visible in its interior, with 47 wall clocks said to be hung in the bell tower. At night, there is a strong contrast between the depth of the surrounding red light windows and bars and the church.
