• Bali has no extensive public transit network. Dense traffic on Kuta and Seminyak's narrow roads makes short trips time-consuming. Renting a car with a private driver is the recommended option for families and groups: local drivers handle chaotic traffic and provide cultural insight. Motorbike rentals cost IDR 50,000 to 100,000 per day (approximately $3 to $7 USD), and bicycle rentals run IDR 30,000 to 50,000 per day ($2 to $4 USD), best enjoyed in quieter areas like Ubud, Sanur, and Canggu.

Entry Requirements

• Since September 2025, all travelers arriving at Bali's DPS airport must complete Indonesia's unified digital arrival card within 72 hours before arrival. The QR code is mandatory and free. It is not a visa: a valid Visa on Arrival (VOA), e-VOA, or other visa is still required for eligible nationalities.
• There are no exemptions. The digital arrival card applies to all international travelers including tourists, business travelers, transit passengers exiting the airport, and Indonesian citizens returning from overseas.
• Bali charges a tourism levy of IDR 150,000 (about USD 9.60), payable online before arrival. Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity from your arrival date. VOA and e-VOA travelers must show proof of an onward or return ticket and sufficient funds (minimum approximately USD 2,000).
