Linggu Temple, founded in 514, was built by Emperor Liang Wudi in the Southern Dynasty to commemorate the famous monk Baozhi Zen Master. It was first named Kaishan Temple. In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang personally named Linggu Zen Temple and named it the "First Zen Forest under the World" as one of the three major Buddhist monasteries in the Ming Dynasty. The "Jinling Van Sha Zhi" is listed as the Dabao En Temple and Tianjie Temple. Linggu Temple, a scenic spot consisting of temple buildings, cemeteries of deceased generals of the National Revolution and Linggu Park, is located in the east of Zhongshan Mausoleum. The gate of Linggu Temple is a hall with three arches. Just south of the gate, there is a crescent-shaped release pool (also known as the Wangong Pool) which is nearly 100 meters long. The rainway behind the gate is the Beamless Hall. In front of the hall, there is a memorial hall with five roofs for the dead soldiers. The middle hall is inscribed with "Daren Dayi" on the forehead and "Save the nation and save the people" on the back. A pair of ferrets carved from Han white jade are placed in front of the square. Behind Wuliangdian is the first cemetery of the deceased generals. This cemetery, together with the second one located 300 meters east and west, buries 1029 deceased generals in the Northern Expedition and the Anti-Japanese War. Behind the arc-shaped tomb wall is Songfeng Pavilion, built on dozens of steps, with nine towers on the second floor, a corridor outside, surrounded by red pillars, and the second floor is hollow. There is a Baoding in the middle of the Rongdao behind the cabinet. Four words "Famous Dropping Honour" are inscribed on it. To the north of Baoding is Linggu Pagoda, a landmark attraction of Linggu Temple. In the east of Wuliangdian, there are Daxiong Palace, Avenue Jueh Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Tibetan Sutra Building, Maitreya Hall and other buildings. Opposite the temple gate is a yellow wall with a top. To cross the bridge eastward is the ancient building name "Liuyuan Hall". From the Liuyuan Hall to the southeast is Deng Yanda's tomb. In the middle of the tomb gate is a circular flower bed. There is a Square Pavilion at the end of the corridor. Cedar, Longbai and lawn lay in front of the tomb. Stone walls surround the east, West and north. There are granite tombstones in front of the tomb, engraved with the book "Tomb of Martyrs Deng Yanda" written by He Xiangning. Linggu Temple has Free Life Pool, Diamond Hall, Heaven King Hall, Wuliangdian (also known as Wuliangdian), Wufang Hall, Pilu Hall, Guanyin Pavilion and other palaces, behind the temple there is a pagoda. In the Xuanzang Memorial Hall of Linggu Temple, the statue of Master Xuanzang is worshipped, like the former Xuanzang Master's Spiral Memorial Tower with Xuanzang Spiral Shelly.
