Some people say that as long as you walk in this block, the tastes of coffee, tea, delicate spices and various colors will pass through the long river of time and space, swirling in your nostrils. It is a new Gothic complex of buildings situated on thousands of oak stakes, a self-contained world. From 1885 to 1927, the city was used as a warehouse. Streets, bridges and innumerable waterways make up the world of warehouses, located in the heart of Hamburg, a busy 300,000 square metre port. Witnesses of a great era for businessmen, warehouses can not meet all their requirements, office is also a must. So they built the first row of office buildings in Europe near the warehouse city, the so-called office buildings. To this day, people can see the witness of that prosperous business era - Chilehaus. The building was built by hand with 4.8 million bricks. Henry B. Sloman, a native Hamburg businessman, made his fortune by importing salt from Chile. He commissioned architect Fritz H&ger to build the tallest building at that time, with sharp corners designed to imitate the bow. Discovering, exploring and enjoying Speicherstadt and Kontorhaus viertel are situated between Elbphilharmonie and Hafen City, where tourists are bustling. You can find novelty in museums such as Hamburg Dungeon, Speicherstadtmuseum or Miniatur Wunderland. You can also explore in traditional workshops and taste the coffee and chocolate produced there. Of course, you can enjoy the mystery of this small world in quaint seaport bars and charming restaurants. And romance!
