Lobby Lounge Bar Review

A comfortable chair, a lovely cup of tea of one's choice and good conversation is the way to enjoy the sweet and savoury offerings on the 3-tier cake stand. Beautifully presented, each different in texture and taste, the finger and pinwheel sandwiches were tempting as were the sweet offerings such as chocolate brownies, macarons and green tea fruit scones with clotted cream and house-made jam. A chef was at hand to tell us what was on the cake stand and I thought this was a very nice touch. For a reasonable price one gets an elegant and substantial Afternoon or High Tea. Sparkling wine and champagne are available at extra cost but we like our tea. Service was excellent and unrushed. Bookings are essential in order to avoid disappointment as the High Tea is very popular. This was not the first time we've had High Tea at the Shangri-La nor will it be our last.
