Although it's 70 years old, it's well-maintained and doesn't feel dated at all. The pool is fantastic, I'd even describe it as sparkling clean. Breakfast was delicious, and the coffee was the best I had on this entire Yunnan trip. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. My only minor suggestion would be for the concierge to be a bit more proactive; I didn't see anyone when I arrived or left. Overall, I'm quite satisfied."

"So glad I chose this hotel! Liruide Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Its location is fantastic, just a short walk from Cuihu Park (unlike many other hotels that claim to be near but are much further). There are also countless excellent restaurants and shops nearby, offering plenty of choices. The hotel itself is superb. Being on a high floor, the Sky Bar and restaurant on the 19th floor offer panoramic views of Cuihu Park and the beautiful cityscape of Kunming. If you book a lake view room, you can enjoy the stunning views of Cuihu Lake right from your room, which was a wonderful surprise. The hotel's decor, with its strong contrast of classic black, red, and grey, feels modern, stylish, and tasteful from the moment you step into the lobby. I especially loved the "ENJOY IT" neon signs in the lobby and restaurant; indeed, you can truly enjoy all the beauty Liruide has to offer. My room, though not large, was incredibly comfortable. The bedding ensured a good night's sleep. It was spotlessly clean, and the shower had great water pressure and hot water, draining super fast (many hotels struggle with drainage, but Liruide nailed this detail). The smart toilet was a nice bonus. While breakfast wasn't lavish, it featured local Yunnan specialties and was more than sufficient. A freshly made rice noodle roll with a generous topping of braised meat was the perfect way to start a day full of energy. What truly touched me was the friendly and thoughtful staff. After checking out, I had a video conference in the lobby, and a staff member specially lowered the lobby music volume for me and kindly brought a bottle of water. A huge thank you to Mr. Curry at the front desk for his meticulous service. Your kind and warm attention made us feel as comfortable and wonderful as if we were home, which is a rare treat for those of us constantly on the go. Oh, and the rose petal shortbread offered at check-in was absolutely delicious! The rich rose fragrance bloomed in my mouth with just the right touch of sweetness – unforgettable. For parking, you can drive onto the sidewalk, inform the front desk, and a staff member will immediately valet park your car. After a two-day stay, my experience was simply perfect. The next time I'm in Kunming for business, I'll definitely book here in advance to enjoy it all again."

"The breakfast here is absolutely amazing! I'd give it a resounding 'thumbs up'! First off, the variety is incredible. You can find all sorts of authentic Yunnan specialties – from grilled Erkuai and flower pastries to papaya water, they have it all! Secondly, the different kinds of rice noodles are so delicious! I think the 'xiaoguo mixian' (small pot rice noodles) is even better than what you'd find at most restaurants outside. The toppings (or 'hats' as they call them in Yunnan dialect) are super rich too; the 'Sanxian' (three fresh ingredients) and pork hock options are both excellent. P.S. It's even more refined than the breakfast at Cuihu, I love it!"

"The name 'Paperman' itself is quite memorable. The hotel's Bosnian-inspired style blends perfectly with modern aesthetics. The furniture design is tasteful, and the extended brunch is generous. The thoughtful late-night snack service, combined with the hotel's overall hospitality, provided an exceptional five-star experience that truly enhanced my trip. Having hot springs, dining, and accommodation all in one place made for a super convenient and relaxing experience!"

"The worst hotel experience we’ve ever had from a Wyndham. By far a terrible experience. This was the second night booked in the same hotel. (We booked separately as we weren’t sure of the length of our stay. It started when we returned. It appeared that the cleaners hadn’t touched the room. They made the bed and replaced the water. That’s all. No new toilet paper the coffee cups had not been washed and the room was generally dirty. I’ll give them a pass on that one because it was a weird 2 night kinda thing. HOWEVER I can’t forgive the food. NEVER eat here. The room service food was too oily and made my wife and I sick. The breakfast was very mid level but that’s not a problem. What’s a problem is finding maggots in the food… like… an actual maggot. I told the restaurant staff and they just said sorry and shrugged it off. They didn’t even change the pot of contaminated food. I’m sure after we left they just added the same spoon back to the pot and kept on serving it. NEVER eat here. There’s a McDonald’s across the street and ******* delivers. Save the headache. Book with no meals"
