Reviews From Real Travelers
This was my first time staying in a capsule hostel, and I found this one through Trip.com with an open mind.
**Check-in convenience:** The front desk staff were two Chinese individuals, and check-in was quite efficient. They informed me about the hostel rules, such as no air conditioning from 11 AM to 3 PM (which might not suit everyone), and then escorted me upstairs to show me how to use the keyless entry. I had a bit of trouble with it, but the front desk lady promptly helped me out.
**Facilities:** In the room, each bed had a pillow, duvet, bath towel, clothes hanger, power outlet, a password-locked locker (approx. 35x50x45 cm), and a key card.
In the common areas, there were toothbrushes, earplugs, combs, razors, hairdryers, shower rooms, restrooms, washing machines, and drying racks. Since everyone's schedules are different, if you encounter others in the morning, everyone waits patiently and orderly.
There aren't really any dedicated storage spaces for luggage in the rooms, and for girls who like to do their makeup, there's no specific shelf, so cosmetics end up wherever there's a surface.
One morning, when I opened my door, the narrow hallway revealed a girl by the window applying meticulous makeup, which reminded me of the saying: 'Life is not just about the struggles in front of you, but also poetry and distant lands...'
**Safety:** The hostel guests come from various countries, including Europe, America, Russia, and China. Don't let some of the tattoos fool you; everyone maintains polite boundaries, smiles and greets, and doesn't try to get too familiar.
My female dormitory could sleep 10 people and was almost full. I stayed for 3 nights. On the first night, a Chinese guest was making a quiet phone call at midnight. I said, 'Please take your call outside.' And they stopped. The second night was mostly quiet, except for the sound of guests unzipping their luggage. On the third night, I was drifting off to sleep when I was woken by quiet talking from the bunk below me to the right. I saw it was a Chinese guest on WeChat voice, so I said again, 'Please take your call outside.' At midnight, I was woken up again by the excited chattering of a Russian girl entering the room, so I got up and said, 'Could you please be a little quieter...' The girl turned around and said, 'Sorry.' Just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard a girl re-enter the room, quite loudly and seemingly upset. Fortunately, the noise stopped within a minute. Luckily, nobody snored loudly throughout the night, otherwise, I, being a light sleeper, would have had a very difficult time.
Going to the restroom or shower requires walking about 50 meters and passing through 4 doors. A midnight trip to the toilet pretty much wipes out any sleepiness.
**Hygiene:** Overall, the hygiene is quite good. I saw staff cleaning the common areas every day.
**Environment:** The hostel is a 5-minute walk from Chinatown MRT station, and it's surrounded by Chinatown, making it very convenient for food. If you're looking for cheaper options, you can find food courts on the 2nd floor of Chinatown Complex or at People's Park Complex. There's also a good little Chinese-run shop near the MRT entrance.
The hostel's ground floor has the front desk, a cafe, breakfast area, and a lounge. The sleeping area is on the second floor, accessed from an external door with a key card. Upstairs, there's a shared lounge, rooms, and shoe lockers (since shoes need to be left outside, the hallway has a bit of an odor). I didn't go up to the third floor.
Across from the female dorm is an Indian temple. On the first day, I didn't know what festival it was, but they were chanting and singing from 5 PM until 8:30 PM, and it started again at 7 AM the next morning, continuing into the evening. Fortunately, they stopped on the third day. The timing wasn't too bad and didn't affect my sleep.
**Service:** I stayed for 3 nights with breakfast included: toast, lettuce salad, milk tea, pastries, eggs, milk tea, and coffee. The pastries and eggs had some variety. There was a local Chinese staff member who politely and discreetly kept an eye on guests, mainly to prevent waste or misplaced utensils.
Every time I entered the restroom or toilet, they were quite clean, and there was always shower gel, shampoo, and toilet paper.
The only thing I couldn't understand was why the air conditioning was turned off from 11 AM to 3 PM in the rooms. Singapore is very hot. Is it to force everyone out to sightsee or run errands?
**Overall Impression:** I found this capsule hostel to be safe, with good environment, service, and facilities. It's a place I'd consider staying at again.
Thanks to Trip.com for the recommendation! Thanks to the hostel for its excellent management and service! And thanks to the generally well-mannered guests I encountered!

Top-notch hotel! Everything was perfect! The best value-for-money accommodation I could find in Singapore. Very well located in the heart of Chinatown. Everything is clean and well-maintained. For breakfast, there's a small buffet every day with coffee, tea, milk, cereal, toast, and peanut butter, plus 3 different hot dishes daily. There's also a room available where you can get fresh/hot water, instant coffee, and tea. In short, everything you need for a fantastic stay. I highly recommend it! +++

The facilities are very good, it is a local villa area, very beautiful, the landlord is also very good, and provide a lot of help. The only thing that is not perfect is the 30 Singapore dollar sanitation fee, which is not cleaned. It is said that it will be cleaned only once in 7 days. We only live for three days. We do n’t have cleaning tools ourselves, which makes us unreasonable.

Except that the breakfast is not very suitable for Chinese stomachs, everything else is very good. The kitchen is very convenient for washing clothes, and the environment is also very good. Remember to read the accommodation instructions when checking in. There are some dates to pay attention to, such as some dates are not cleaned or pest control is required. The hotel's free bus can go to the Botanic Gardens Orchard Road Lao Pa Sat, which is also quite convenient

This two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a washer-dryer is perfect for a family outing. It's in a quiet area, just a stone's throw from the bustling Orchard Road. The bus stop is very convenient, and the subway is a little further away, but it's also very convenient to take the bus. I'm very satisfied and will come back next time.

We stayed in a 4 bedroom apartment.
People are very nice. Units are quite new. They are very attentive with needs. Provides quick service and is always one request away.
Rooms are very spacious with their own toilet for each.
Because this is pretty new, restaurants on the ground floor are in progress and there are not much hawker centers nearby. NEX mall/mrt is around 3 blocks so still manageable.
Free sbux coffee every day (machine).
Not sure if all layouts are the same in all units but having a bigger living area would be good as the one we have is a bit small to hangout if all 8 guests are out. The rooms are big though. More than enough space to be honest.
Overall we strongly recommend this place. Very safe and relaxing. 🙂 Would definitely book again.

Location is indeed very convenient however if you are not fond of nightlife, this is definitely not a great one to choose. I didn’t see the fine print before booking and was subject to loud beats and sounds from the surrounding bars throughout the night. I also had some issues with my room (random ants and dead lizard). Fortunately, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to those traveling for leisure especially those who like to party but not so much for others.

The hotel is located in the middle of the two MRT stations, which is convenient to move around, and there are many restaurants to choose from on the trail next to the pier behind, and there is also a good view to watch. The equipment and service of the accommodation manager Kim, Loc, Ryan their service is very good and amiable that make me want to come back to the place where I stay next time.

Hotel location is a bit biased, the bus comes down and walks uphill 200 meters. But the hotel has a separate yard and is very quiet. Each house number has three sets of rooms, shared kitchen cookers, tableware in each room, cooking is very convenient. The restaurant faces the sea with sea views and cargo ports. Located in Novena, it's a short walk to Velocity and other malls. The facilities are very complete, you can even buy groceries and cook yourself, as pots and pans are provided. Housekeeping needs to be booked in advance and is available three times a week. The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic; after checking us in, she gave us a tour of the hotel and then thoroughly explained everything in our room. There's also a garden terrace on the top floor.

This is a long-standing five-star hotel in Singapore. I stayed here for eight nights this time. It's my top choice for business and family trips to Singapore, offering great value for money.
**Excellent Location** The location is superb. Right opposite the hotel exit is an MRT station. Although it's not a major line, it's convenient to get anywhere with a quick transfer. Within five or six minutes' walk, there's a large shopping center, The Great World, which has plenty of dining, shopping, and local specialty food options. The surrounding area is also a hub for tourist attractions, easily reachable by taxi or a few MRT stops.
**Hotel Design** Given its five-star heritage and recent renovation, the rooms and hotel interior are very new and spacious. I was particularly impressed by the in-room coffee machine and water dispenser. Enjoying a rich cup of coffee while getting ready in the morning [smiley emoji] is a lovely touch.
**Hotel Facilities** The swimming pool, gym, conference rooms, and restaurants are all well-equipped.
**Service** I didn't get much chance to experience the service as I came back late and was out all day. My only minor complaint is the poor soundproofing. Perhaps it was because I was next to a door that seemed to lead nowhere, and the opening/closing sounds were loud. I could also hear cleaning staff making noise in the mornings. However, the front desk handled it very well, and they were much more careful afterward.FromKWD 57

Marina Bay Singapore|0.99km from city center
I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel.
This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies.
Breakfast was good.
The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room.
Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable.
It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.FromKWD 288

The hotel is located in the CBD area, making public transportation very convenient with plenty of options. The hotel's decor and facilities are a bit dated, but they are well-maintained. The room space is quite generous. The executive lounge service wasn't what I expected from an executive lounge; the hotel only offered some drinks and snacks in the afternoon and didn't provide all-day dining. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of Chinese food.FromKWD 55

The room overlooks a park, and directly outside is a shopping mall. The Singapore River and the colorful fire station are right next door, and it's a short walk to Merlion Park.
**I. Core Strengths: Impeccable Location and Surrounding Amenities**
The Wyndham Singapore's greatest asset is its unbeatable location. Situated in the heart of the Civic District, it's only about 300 meters from City Hall MRT station, a mere 5-minute walk. This makes it incredibly convenient whether you're heading to the airport or exploring the city by subway. The hotel is surrounded by attractions; within a 10-minute walk, you can reach Clarke Quay, Fort Canning Park, the Old Hill Street Police Station (Rainbow Police Station), and St. Andrew's Cathedral, among other famous landmarks. Furthermore, the hotel is directly connected to Funan mall and has a 7-Eleven downstairs, offering an incredibly rich selection of dining and shopping options, perfectly suiting both business travelers and leisure tourists.
**II. Facilities: Renovated Modernity and Leisure Amenities**
Having opened in 1974 and completed a renovation in February 2025, this established luxury hotel has a new lease on life regarding its facilities. The hotel boasts 591 rooms, most of which are spacious. Some rooms feature panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering views of the city skyline at night, Marina Bay, or Fort Canning Hill. For leisure, the hotel has two outdoor pools, a 24-hour fitness center, and an exclusive executive lounge, 'The Study'. Additionally, the hotel's Jaspé restaurant serves exquisite French-Asian fusion cuisine, while Bentley's bar and the rooftop sky lounge are excellent spots to relax in the evening and enjoy the city skyline.FromKWD 53

This hotel is centrally located, very convenient to the MRT and bus stops, making it easy to get around even on foot. As it's surrounded by several academies, it's a paradise for young people with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants. The rooms have basic amenities, but they are thoughtfully designed, such as the hot water dispenser in the room, and shared irons, ironing boards, fridges, and microwaves on each floor. There are also coin-operated laundry facilities, which are very useful given Singapore's hot weather. The laundry room is connected to the gym, a nice touch so you can work out while waiting. For short stays, they don't clean the room daily. The air conditioning is excellent. The bathroom, however, doesn't have a wet/dry separation.FromKWD 39

Bugis Singapore|1.94km from city center
The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station right outside the door and another line a few hundred meters away that goes to Chinatown. It's about an 800-meter walk to the Fort Canning tree tunnel (a popular photo spot), and from there you can continue on to the Old Hill Street Police Station (also known as the Rainbow Police Station), Clarke Quay, and the Merlion.
The room size is a definite advantage compared to other hotels in the same price range; there's plenty of space to walk even with two large suitcases. The bathroom size is standard as well.
The downside is that the bathroom fixtures are quite old, and the shower is difficult to use. However, I was aware of this beforehand, so I was prepared, and given the other advantages, it's acceptable. The bedding is good, and the sofa is quite comfortable. Among the toiletries, only the shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush weren't great; everything else was fine.
The room has a kettle and comes with tea and coffee packets. There's also a water dispenser in the hallway where you can get iced or room temperature water.
The hotel breakfast is decent, on par with business hotels in China. However, the service is excellent; they diligently restock drinks and food even at the last minute, even if there are only a few people dining.
There are washing machines and dryers on the fourth floor, each costing 5 SGD, and you can get change for coins at the front desk. The commercial machines work very well; the dryer gets clothes completely dry in 40 minutes. There are also ironing facilities in the room.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. If you have a higher budget, you might look elsewhere, but if you're looking for great value for money at this price point, you should definitely consider it.FromKWD 40

Wonderful Stay at V Hotel Lavender with Excellent Hospitality
Had a pleasant stay at V Hotel Lavender. As this was our first trip to Singapore, especially with a 2-year-old toddler, everything felt very comfortable and convenient here. The hotel is also very friendly for Indonesian guests who are used to having a bidet in the toilet.
We were especially grateful for the excellent service we received. Miss Cecilia, the receptionist on duty that day, was incredibly kind to us. Pros: Very close to VivoCity, just across the road (though you'll need to cross a few traffic lights).
Other than that, there's not much else to write home about.
The biggest problem is the excessive noise! The sound of vehicles (likely motorcycles) on the road at night is incredibly 'refreshing' – I've never had trouble sleeping before, but I was woken up multiple times. If you're a light sleeper, definitely avoid this place. The bed is also very high, so it's not suitable for seniors with mobility issues. The design of the bathroom and shower doors is quite odd, and the soundproofing in the room is terrible. Flushing the toilet in the middle of the night creates a very loud noise, which is disruptive to anyone else in the room.FromKWD 32
