Although we arrived late at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the onset is open 24 hours, offering clear and warm hot baths. I book a double bed for one person stay. there is a fast food Chan shop just across it where you can go anytime to have your meal. There is a supermarket across the other end. It is quite a distance of walk from
Kyoto station but there nearest metro is just 350m away. Check in and out is all done via the machine. Despite many commented that the hotel is noisy (located at a crossroad junction), I find my room is rather quiet (I specifically ask for a quiet room). The only setback is the pillow is too low for my liking.From€58

This stay was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt incredibly well taken care of.
Location: The hotel's location is superb, extremely convenient for transportation. It's very close to both the subway and bus stations, making it easy to get to various attractions and shopping areas. The surroundings are also quiet, so I had a great night's rest.
Room Facilities: The room was even more spacious and cleaner than I expected! The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, plenty of hot water, and the toiletries were of high quality. The free Wi-Fi was fast, making both work and entertainment very smooth.From€76

Arashiyama/Sagano/Takao Kyoto|8.29km from city center
I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing.SOLD OUT

1. The hotel is located on the edge of the Kamo River, quiet in the bustling city. It is within a 5-minute walk from the subway station and the bus station, and the location is quite advantageous. Convenience stores and restaurants are all available nearby
2. The room is very clean, and the facilities such as bathing are particularly convenient. The deodorant in the room is available, as well as razors and nail clippers. But the bed is obviously soft, and if you have a bad waist, you may have back pain when sleeping.
3. The breakfast was reserved for one day, and the taste was mediocre. If you eat it every day, you will definitely get tired of it
4. The overall service is very online, and they will help answer questions and help make restaurant reservations in Japanese, but some front desk receptionists are not very enthusiasticFrom€177

Nijo Castle Kyoto|1.53km from city center
This is my favourite hotel on our travels around Japan. The room size was a little small but it was fine for a few nights as a base to explore Kyoto. It's walking distance from some great sites like Nijo Castle, the Samurai Ninja museum and the bustling market. The transport links are great and easy to get to most places of interest.
Staff were very helpful and even rushed to fetch towels when we came in from the rain.
There is no restaurant on site so, breakfast is only a bento box but it was so tasty! And there's a fantastic little cafe/restaurant just down the street (to the right as you leave the hotel) which was lovely for dinner.
My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have a larger selection of manga in English or other languages.From€62

My stay at HOTEL ALA KYOTO was excellent overall. The room was quite spacious for Japan; I could easily open a large suitcase and still move around without feeling cramped. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I slept soundly through the night without waking up once.
The biggest bonus was the hotel's onsen facilities. After walking around Kyoto all day, being able to relax in a hot spring at night was incredibly refreshing and truly completed the travel experience! I'll definitely be back.From€84

Hotel Grand Bach Kyoto Select is well located, with easy access to nearby attractions. The area is not difficult to navigate, and travelling with luggage is convenient as most of the roads around the hotel are flat.
The hotel looks fantastic both externally and internally. The design is modern and well maintained, creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The service staff were great—friendly, helpful, and professional. The lobby amenities were well thought out and added to the overall comfort of the stay. A welcome drink was also provided for every guest, which was a nice touch.
The room was very nice and had sufficient space, making it comfortable even with luggage. One minor downside was the television, which only offered local channels.
The luggage storage area was well designed and secure, allowing us to lock our luggage ourselves both before check-in and after check-out. In addition, the hotel onsen was clean, comfortable, and relaxing, making it a great way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, Hotel Grand Bach Kyoto Select offers a comfortable stay with excellent service, thoughtful facilities, and a convenient location. It is a great choice for travelers visiting Kyoto.From€141

Kawaramachi Kyoto|1.02km from city center
The room was tiny; we couldn't even open two suitcases. The window faced a residential building. Since we were only staying one night, we went out after dinner, and by the time we came back, the hot spring, coffee, and complimentary wine were all gone. We basically didn't get to enjoy anything, just soaked our feet for a bit on the freezing rooftop. The worst part is I left my Chanel bracelet in the room when checking out. When I called a few hours later, they said they hadn't seen it and couldn't help me find it. They didn't even bother to ask the housekeeping staff. Ohara/Kibune/Kurama Kyoto|5.5km from city center
I went to Aman Kyoto with high expectations, but was greatly disappointed.
The hotel is in a narrow mountain stream, with some trees in front of the guest rooms. There is a stream that is about to dry up behind.
The room area is very small. The rooms on the first floor can be opened to the outside, but there are trees and rocks outside. The rooms on the second floor can only look at the trees at the door.
The room design is old, the wood bathtub is black, and one day it broke and could not be filled with water.
What is more incomprehensible is that the hotel's sheets are very old and have a hole. The bedding has not been changed for three days, and I have lived with the holed sheets for three days.
Some people are polite and warm in service attitude, but some are stiff in attitude.
The most terrible thing is the hotel's dry cleaning service. The hotel does not have its own laundry room, and it outsources the laundry. The clothes cannot be washed clean at all. I said that it was not washed clean. A man in the hotel said: The laundry room has been cooperating for many years and it has always been like this. If it is washed clean, it will damage the clothes. I wiped the stain with the hotel's water and a small toothbrush dipped in soap in front of the male waiter, and the stain disappeared immediately. But the waiter said that the dry cleaner cannot use water and a small toothbrush, so it cannot be washed clean. After returning to China, I sent the clothes to the dry cleaner again, and all the stains were cleaned.
Pros: The hotel breakfast tasted good, but the cooking methods were almost the same every day, and only the fish species were adjusted.
Experienced Aman: Beijing, Shanghai and Kyoto, the best one is Shanghai, with picturesque scenery, warm service, small animals and children to play with, and a good restaurant
Beijing's rooms also feel average, and the service is much worse than Shanghai. One thing is that there is a small door to go to the Summer Palace for a morning run 🏃
In recent years, the hotels that feel better are Shanghai Aman and Beijing Mandarin Oriental

The hotel's top floor boasts a fantastic large public bath and lounge, offering excellent views for watching the sunset and the city's nightscape. Plenty of dining options are available right downstairs, and the provided toiletries and skincare products are superb. Its location near Sanjo-dori is very convenient, putting you close to many modern historical buildings, including the Museum of Kyoto. The hotel service was excellent, truly a luxury experience. It has a swimming pool, gym, and hot springs, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed during our two-day stay. A big plus is the free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Metro Station, which was incredibly convenient. The shuttle even makes free stops at attractions along the way, which was super handy. The hotel is also less than two kilometers from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, so it's an easy walk. I stayed at a Dormy Inn in Tokyo many years ago and still fondly remember their complimentary evening noodles. This trip was a bit of a nostalgic return, though I didn't expect so many people enjoying the noodles; there was a queue every night. The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station, making transportation incredibly convenient, and the breakfast spread was also excellent. While the room wasn't large, it was well-laid out and fully equipped. Check-in was a very friendly process, and self-checkout was quick and easy. The only downside was the slightly subpar cleanliness; on the day I checked in, I noticed an odd smell near the toilet, which only improved after I cleaned it myself. Also, continuous stays don't require an extra cleaning fee, which Ctrip had misleadingly suggested.From€76

The location was great, close to shops, restaurants, night life, blah blah blah. Typical Japanese hotel experience: tiny room, 100% plastic bathroom, pick up your pillow, pjs, amenities in the lobby…

The biggest advantage of Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is definitely its location. Beyond its prime spot in the city center, there's a direct walkway from the hotel's third floor straight to Takashimaya. You can walk along the green passage into the mall, turn a corner, and be at Din Tai Fung – it's incredibly convenient. This stay, I specifically booked a corner room to experience the lounge. The room was spacious, and the bathroom had a great four-piece layout. The large windows let in plenty of light, and catching a glimpse of the beautiful Higashiyama scenery in the distance was a pleasant surprise. The lounge is also on the third floor, so after browsing Takashimaya, it was lovely to just tap my card, go in, and relax with a drink.
The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but most items were high quality. I ate there for three days and didn't get bored. The ham, salmon, and homemade yogurt sauce were all excellent, and the latte was delicious too.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of this popular hotel exceeded my expectations. Daily housekeeping was impeccable, and they didn't compromise on standards under the guise of being eco-friendly, which I really appreciated. Huge thanks to the staff.From€331

Ace Hotel Kyoto is Ace Hotels' (a trendy luxury hotel brand from New York) first venture into Asia. The hotel is housed in the former Kyoto Central Telephone Office, a building originally constructed during the Taisho era, and was redesigned by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The design beautifully preserves the building's historical essence while seamlessly blending American lifestyle with Japanese sophistication. The hotel is part of the 'Shinpukan' complex, with shops on the ground floor and direct subway access from the basement. The in-room guitar and record player are major highlights, and the overall design attention to detail is impressive. There's a small gym on the second floor, but no swimming pool. The ground floor features the famous American Stumptown Coffee. Breakfast is a set menu, and the food is delicious. The service from all departments is warm and attentive.From€277

The hotel is conveniently located right by Ninen-zaka, making it incredibly easy to get to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. With only a few rooms, it's very peaceful, and the rooms are generously sized. The service was excellent; a friendly staff member, Ms. Chen Jingtong, who spoke Chinese, very kindly helped us make dinner reservations. As I have a seafood allergy, the restaurant attendant also made an effort to communicate with me in Chinese to swap my dish. Upon checkout, the polite gentleman at the front desk proactively offered to call a taxi for us. We are truly grateful to all of them for making our stay so enjoyable.From€2,751

I happened to make a reservation here for a quick trip to Osaka.
I really liked that it had a Japanese feel ^^
It was great that the toilet and shower room (bathtub/bathroom style) were separate!!
It's not a kimono, but a long dress-like(?) nightgown is prepared haha.
I was very satisfied with my one night stay in Kyoto!
Breakfast is served as a full Japanese meal, but I came to find out that you have to make a reservation 3 days in advance. It's a shame I didn't get to experience it.
I definitely have to come back here on my next trip to Kyoto^^ The kids also say they like it a lot~~~From€124

The hotel's location is great, and the rooms are clean and spacious. They offer free parking, and the breakfast selection is quite good and tasty. It's very convenient, as most attractions are within a few kilometers. There are also many yakitori and yakiniku restaurants nearby, and an Aeon supermarket is just a few hundred meters away. The hotel even provides a shuttle bus to JR Isetan department store. This hotel offers excellent value for money; the free parking alone saves you about 100 yuan a day. Highly recommended!From€62

The location is the biggest advantage, right inside the JR train station. Kyoto Theater is downstairs from the hotel. Across the street is Isetan, and downstairs is the Porta shopping mall, which has countless dining options. In front of the station, there are taxi and bus stops. Behind the station are various long-distance bus terminals and hotel shuttle stops, as well as the airport shuttle station. The entire commercial area is well-designed, and the hotel is perfectly situated within it. The room size is generous, allowing 2-3 large suitcases to be laid flat. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, and the toilet has its own private space. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.From€159

Highly Recommended Stay in Kyoto
I would like to strongly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto. The staff demonstrate exceptional professionalism and hospitality.
In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Miss Yuki, who assisted us with our check-in and kindly introduced many wonderful sightseeing spots and activities in Kyoto, as well as to Miss Tsai, a ********* staff member who supported us during check-out with great warmth and care. Their thoughtful service truly reflects the welcoming spirit of Kyoto and the hotel’s commitment to excellence.
I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the team members who bring guests happiness and satisfaction through their dedication. They truly deserve recognition and applause for their outstanding service.
Our two-night stay was far too short, and we are already looking forward to returning in the near future.From€443

Absolutely loved this hotel! The interiors are stunning and rooms are spacious and well decorated with ample amenities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well.

We spent our last two days here. For a hotel in Japan, it's quite good. The unique sunken lobby, accessed via a side entrance, felt special and welcoming rather than impersonal.
The room was very clean and the service was good. Since we couldn't get the same room type for our consecutive nights, our luggage was transferred to a different room while we were out for the day.
Transportation is also convenient, with Sanjo Subway Station just 150 meters away.
However, I have to say the breakfast was very mediocre! Perhaps it's tailored more towards Western palates, given the clientele?
Overall, it's a solid choice for a night or two.From€287

I've stayed at Tokyu hotels a few times before and generally found them acceptable, but this particular Tokyu Hotel has a terrible location. Transportation is incredibly inconvenient, and there isn't even a bus stop nearby. It's at least a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway station. The shuttle bus to Kyoto Station only runs every 30 minutes, so you still end up waiting a long time.
The 3300 yen breakfast was also incredibly basic, worse than what you'd get for 1800 yen at a standard business hotel.
The worst part was the room temperature on cold winter nights. I woke up freezing in the middle of the first night and ended up catching a cold with a runny nose. What's more, the air conditioning panel only allowed for adjusting the fan speed, not the temperature.
The hotel was also undergoing renovations during my stay, so I spent the entire second day out and about. Taxis in Kyoto are quite expensive; a 2-kilometer ride from Kawaramachi back to the hotel cost 1600 yen. It would definitely be more convenient to stay near Kyoto Station.From€77

My wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip.
From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception.
The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance.
The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station.
We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards.
We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.From€328

I really loved this hotel, had a fantastic stay for a few nights! ☺️
The room was spacious enough to fully open my suitcase, which made getting things in and out very convenient. There's also a fridge, so I didn't have to rush to eat everything I bought from the convenience store.
The location is pretty good too. Even though it's in Gojo, there's a bus stop just a short walk away, and I found taking the bus every day very convenient for getting around.
You can pick up any skincare essentials like lotions and masks on the first floor. Plus, you can take a bath in the room, which was so relaxing after a tiring day. 🛀🏻

Although we arrived late at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the onset is open 24 hours, offering clear and warm hot baths. The relaxing atmosphere, with massage chairs to help ease the stress from a long flight, made us feel comforted. Its convenient location within walking distance is a great plus; I highly recommend it.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was clean and hygienic, and a taxi ride from Kyoto Station cost about 1500 yen. When I checked out, the Shijo branch helped transfer my luggage to the Mitsui Garden Hotel in front of Kyoto Station for only 500 yen. I had originally scheduled to pick up my luggage at 6 PM, but my plans changed, and I went to pick it up at 1:50 PM. The staff helped me with my bags and even asked if my kids and I were hungry, offering us a simple meal. That really touched my heart. Plus, the Mitsui Garden Hotel in front of Kyoto Station is so close to the station! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Kyoto. The Shijo branch is also very convenient for taking buses to various attractions and is close to the central area.

Location, location, location! This hotel boasts incredible convenience, situated right next to the east wall of JR Kyoto Station, just a one-minute walk away. Unlike other Mitsui Garden Hotels, the Kyoto branch is generally smaller and doesn't have a hot spring. However, the surrounding area offers fantastic access to food, transportation, and shopping. 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Lawson, Don Quijote, Aeon, and Isetan are all within walking distance. The Osaka Airport limousine bus also departs from Kyoto Station.

This was my first time traveling abroad with my child, and convenient transportation was absolutely essential. A single train from Kansai Airport took us directly to the hotel, so we didn't have to worry about lugging suitcases and changing subways. It's right next to Kyoto Station, but surprisingly quiet. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Also, if you don't want to check out at 11 AM and leave your luggage at the front desk, you can opt for a paid late check-out – it's 1000 yen an hour, which is even cheaper than hourly hotels back home. This way, you can go out in the afternoon, come back, relax or even take a shower before heading out.

i love this place. The accommodation is clean and equipped for basic meal preparation and washing machine. The location is excellent and very strategic, as it is within walking distance of major tourist attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera, Yasaka Shrine, as well as shops and lively streets. The check-in process is easy and straightforward. Each floor has a designated area where guests can temporarily store their luggage if they arrive early or after check-out. This allows you to leave your bags and return a few hours later to collect them. However, the luggage area is unattended, so it is advisable not to leave any valuables in your bags. We can see the Shrine from our window!
