The kids absolutely loved it! You have to store your shoes upon check-in, which adds a nice touch of ritual. The hot springs♨️ were better than expected; even though it was crowded, there was a great variety of pools, about 5-6, including some semi-outdoor ones. The onsen experience was truly delightful. The ice pops and ramen were an added bonus – it was quite funny seeing everyone line up for the ramen. It's right next to Kyoto subway station, so it's a great option for your arrival or final days. You can also walk to Higashi Hongan-ji and Sanjusangen-do from here.

Before coming to Japan, we expected the room here to be very small based on the photos. However, upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised — the room was actually larger than standard hotel rooms in Japan. We could easily open two large suitcases and still move around. The bathroom was also more spacious than it appeared in the pictures. The interior, rooms, and overall atmosphere of the hotel are pleasant and cheerful. The location is very convenient for getting to major attractions around Kyoto. The only drawback was the reception staff. At times they seemed a bit confused and not very welcoming, which was different from the level of hospitality we usually experienced in Japan. Overall, it is a nice hotel and very good value for money.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt incredibly well taken care of. Location: The hotel's location is superb, extremely convenient for transportation. It's very close to both the subway and bus stations, making it easy to get to various attractions and shopping areas. The surroundings are also quiet, so I had a great night's rest. Room Facilities: The room was even more spacious and cleaner than I expected! The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, plenty of hot water, and the toiletries were of high quality. The free Wi-Fi was fast, making both work and entertainment very smooth.

I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing.

Environment: This is the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at during this business trip. It's very spacious! Japanese hotels are usually small, but this one is huge! The entire lobby feels very pleasant, and it smells nice too! Facilities: Excellent and very comfortable. Hygiene: Very clean!! Service: They even gave me Decorté skincare products upon check-in! Breakfast: Breakfast is on the first basement level, which is the only drawback, but the food is delicious and there's a wide variety! Location: It's right next to Kyoto Station, opposite Kyoto Tower! The location is great!

1. The hotel is located on the edge of the Kamo River, quiet in the bustling city. It is within a 5-minute walk from the subway station and the bus station, and the location is quite advantageous. Convenience stores and restaurants are all available nearby 2. The room is very clean, and the facilities such as bathing are particularly convenient. The deodorant in the room is available, as well as razors and nail clippers. But the bed is obviously soft, and if you have a bad waist, you may have back pain when sleeping. 3. The breakfast was reserved for one day, and the taste was mediocre. If you eat it every day, you will definitely get tired of it 4. The overall service is very online, and they will help answer questions and help make restaurant reservations in Japanese, but some front desk receptionists are not very enthusiastic

The hotel's biggest highlight is the extensive manga collection; you can borrow up to 20 volumes to read in your room. It's truly enjoyable!

Hotel ALa in Kyoto was a delightful surprise during my trip. The pictures made it look quite ordinary, but upon checking in, I found it to be understated yet elegant. The hotel is conveniently located near the station, and there's a 7-Eleven right across the street with a great selection of beers. The miniature dry landscape gardens (Karesansui) on each floor were a pleasure to look at, and the natural hot spring, 'Gokou no Yu', was incredibly relaxing and free for guests to use. My room even had a small window view that was absolutely stunning when I opened the curtains in the morning. I highly recommend the sukiyaki at the hotel; the beef was tender and delicious, and the portion was generous. A lovely staff member even helped serve it, and the accompanying fruit was surprisingly good. I stayed for three nights, slept comfortably, and had a wonderful time. Many thanks to the entire hotel team; their hard work made my sightseeing experience even more enjoyable.

Kawaramachi Kyoto|0.93km from city center
The location is superb, right on Shijo Street, making it incredibly convenient for accessing the train station and department stores like Takashimaya and Daimaru. There are also many decent izakayas nearby, but I'd recommend booking in advance if you can. As a first-timer, I didn't realize this and missed out on a yakitori spot I had hoped to visit. The hotel offers self-service disposable amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste, and they even provide Sekkisei brand toner. There's a free public bath on site, which was incredibly relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. Plus, depending on the length of your stay, you receive coins that can be exchanged for a complimentary drink (beer/wine, etc.), which is a fantastic perk for anyone who enjoys a tipple. Luggage storage is available with password-protected lockers, which is a really thoughtful and convenient feature. My only two minor drawbacks were: firstly, the rooms are quite small (I stayed in a 16 sqm room), meaning two suitcases couldn't be fully opened at the same time. Secondly, the soundproofing isn't great. If you're sensitive to noise, I'd suggest asking the staff for a room not facing the street. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

This hotel was recommended by a friend, and even though it's a 4-star, it's far better than some 5-star establishments. Location: Excellent. It's close to the subway and shopping malls, with various major brands right across the street. It's also near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, just a few minutes by taxi, making it perfect for getting an early start during autumn foliage season. Facilities: Well-equipped. It boasts two rooftop onsen baths, one indoor and one outdoor. The lobby offers complimentary drinks, coffee, and ice, available for self-service at any time. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: Very good. The rooms have a lovely Japanese style, though they are a bit small. Service: Quite good.

The hotel's top floor boasts a fantastic large public bath and lounge, offering excellent views for watching the sunset and the city's nightscape. Plenty of dining options are available right downstairs, and the provided toiletries and skincare products are superb. Its location near Sanjo-dori is very convenient, putting you close to many modern historical buildings, including the Museum of Kyoto. The room is spacious, with new and complete facilities. The toiletries exceeded my expectations, and the Huading hot spring bath experience was excellent. The location was great, close to shops, restaurants, night life, blah blah blah. Typical Japanese hotel experience: tiny room, 100% plastic bathroom, pick up your pillow, pjs, amenities in the lobby… If you want your room cleaned, it is a four-hour process from 11:00am to 3:00pm during which time you cannot use your room and the door to your room remains propped open.  But…free booze from 6:00-8:00pm more than makes up for all of the other inconveniences!

The service was very good and the waiter was very polite. When I left the next day, I found that my shoes had been cleaned for me. 9.4/10Amazing1136 Reviews
Kawaramachi Kyoto|1.01km from city center
The room size was barely adequate. The idea of having a separate vanity, shower, and toilet was good in theory, but the design was flawed, making it very inconvenient to place toiletries. The floor had a strange odor—neither pleasant nor foul—I couldn't tell if it was from floor polish or something else. I initially thought it was the smell from my own feet after a long day of walking. The hotel claims to be eco-friendly, so many toiletries weren't provided, likely because there simply wasn't enough space. The service was mediocre; they didn't even replenish the bottled water when cleaning the room on the second day. After visiting several cities, I've come to realize that it's better to choose established hotels for good service and experience. Design-oriented hotels often look good but aren't practical. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location with convenient transportation access. Shopping is extremely convenient, with Takashimaya right next door and plenty of other places to shop and many restaurants. Of course, the foot traffic is enormous, and the street can be noisy at night, so those with light sleep should think twice before booking.

The location is superb, right by Kyoto Station and just a two-minute walk from the exit. As a designer hotel, it certainly met expectations; the staff's strong service-mindedness made for a very comfortable stay. However, the lack of basic amenities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower caps, and cotton pads was a letdown. For a supposed five-star hotel, I found this to be incredibly cheap. Especially considering the high nightly rate; a two-night stay certainly wasn't inexpensive.

The rooms are decent. There's a communal bath, which is kind of like a hot spring, though the water is just regular tap water – it was clean and hygienic. On the second floor, there's a ping-pong table, an all-you-can-drink bar, and a small kids' play area. It feels like a friendly little community. The staff are all polite and attentive. There's an aquarium very close by, and the hotel has a back entrance for direct access. We didn't realize this until we walked all the way around in the rain! There's a surface parking lot if you drive, costing 2500 yen per day for unlimited use, but the small road leading in can be a bit tricky to find.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay, and the service was excellent. While there was some kind of pump or utility hub just outside the window, making it too noisy to open for fresh air, the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a beautiful view. Free alcoholic beverages are also available in the evening. For consecutive stays, room cleaning needs to be requested by 9 AM at the latest. This policy takes a bit of getting used to. Exquisite service, one of the best I have ever experienced, even better than Aman Tokyo, every stuff try to satisfy our demand the best they can, crazy part is about 50% stuff memorized my name, shows how much they cared about the customer. They bow when they see you and only stop bowing after you went so far that you can’t see them anymore. I tried to order room 701 but it was full but room 606 is still fantastic. Visit date: 2023.12.10~11 I am Korean. I could speak Japanese, so there was no major inconvenience. Advantages: 1. Price / The price of high-end hot spring ryokans is too expensive, but I think this is a good price assuming you are going with friends. 2. Room / This is a tatami room that is clean and has a uniquely Japanese cozy feel. Because it was in the mountains, the air was good and there wasn't much dust. 3. Food / Dinner was a soybean paste nabe base pot dish. The ingredients are fresh and it's fun to add them yourself. The quantity is sufficient and delicious. 4. Hot spring / Can be used both in the evening and in the morning. The evening and morning have different hot spring design themes. It is divided into rock hot spring theme and wooden hot spring theme. disadvantage: 1. Location / If you are thinking about this place, it should be the first thing you think about. Route 17, which can be taken from Kyoto Station (travel time more than 1 hour), runs every 30 minutes, and because it is so deep in the mountains, radio waves are not good. If you go in winter, it gets dark quickly. Instead, if you arrive at the Ohara stop and call the accommodation, they will drive to pick you up. 2. There is no toilet in the room/room. Fortunately, there is a bathroom at the end of the hallway when you leave the room, so it's not far, and it's very clean for a public bathroom. There is no refrigerator. The location is fantastic, not far from Nanzen-ji Temple. The service is warm and attentive, and the hotel environment is superb, especially the beautiful gardens and the healing views from the rooftop. The room is spacious, with new and complete facilities. The toiletries exceeded my expectations, and the Huading hot spring bath experience was excellent. The hotel's shuttle bus service is very thoughtful, offering rides to the station, Sanjo, and Shijo. It truly lives up to its reputation as a long-standing national guesthouse. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Kyoto!
