First the place was not easy to find as it was just a littled door in an alley. Once you find it, it was ok. The appartment was not exactly as in the pictures, but it was still great. There was an elevator (thank God!) and the building was pretty quiet. The appartment is located right in the center, 10-minute walk from Plaza España and 200 metres from Gran Via and Chueca Metro Stations, and lots and lots of restaurants and stores. Be aware, you get the code to the appartment only when you do your online check in AND pay a deposit (for damage and stuff) online. If you are not connected and don't have access to email it may be an issue. In my case, i only checked my email once or twice a week (missed the one for deposit obviously) - but it worked out fine in the end.

I LIKED. The cleanliness, the location and the spaciousness of the apartment. The apartment was very clean, in fact the appliances seemed new. The location was exceptional, in a pedestrian street full of shops, if you go shopping in Madrid, it is very well located. We were three and the apartment was spacious. Sufficient cabinets. A courtesy cleaning is done every three days. I DID NOT LIKE. The mattresses are somewhat soft, the correct sofa bed. The street is very noisy and at night you can hear a lot of noise. Instead of soundproofing the apartment, the hotel leaves you some earplugs in the room. The fourth floor has the stairs full of boxes, carts...in short they use it as a warehouse, the image is not very good. The portal door was open every day, in such a way that any stranger could access the building (remember that it is a building without a reception). The bedding (although clean) had some tears. We had to buy everything (detergent, dishwasher, sponge, salt, sugar, pepper, oil…..etc, the apartment only made toilet paper available to us. I hope that everything I left has been left for the next guest, although I am very sorry afraid not.

I had booked in this accommodation before the perimeter closure that took place in February. They took care of my reservation keeping it up to then, although they should have the option of refund due to force, and when they were back to book, they were very patient with me and changed everything to the dates I wanted with them. The apartment was IMPECABLE, all ordered and with everything necessary (board, table, dryer, shampoo-gel, towels, towels, tools ...) I only notice here and rather for them, they put silicone tools, The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and the metro is a 3-minute walk from the city centre. There are supermarkets, sites to drink, good restaurants ... All. At all times the SLOWSUITE team was very kind and patient, both at my arrival (the internal tablets were dropped) and at the exit, where they have to store their baggage and they explain how to do so so that you can continue to walk quietly until I loved everything, is it noted much? ¡Well that! I will repeat.

To give a review of Casa Chueca as a guest I would need to explain that it was the last lodging–the 33rd to be exact– after a 40 day challenging Camino DeSantiago and I wanted to spend 4 days in Madrid before returning to my country. I would also have to explain that my plan to do the Camino was all about the beginning and doing it–could i do it?–and I didn’t have a plan for after I did ie how to complete my trip and get home. As a result I found myself exhausted on a train to Madrid trying to find a place where I could stay for four days beginning on a Saturday night. After many phone call inquiries all I had was a good understanding of what it means when they say the word “completa”–complete, full, nothing available. So when my last phone call was answered and after I explain my problem to the person on the other end of the phone and he says, “I am full for tonight but I’m going to find you a place to stay and you can come stay here tomorrow night for the balance of your trip.” My being felt a relief like the fresh cool breeze on that hot sweaty afternoon. So this is how I base my review of Casa Chueca. It all starts with the host and that is Mario and after 12 years working for somebody else he now runs a wonderful boutique hostel that I would give an A+. It is safe. It is clean. It is comfortable. It has amenities that made a difference to me – a small refrigerator, a hot water pot with herbal and caffeinated choices, a spotless toilet and shower room, an innovative use of hardware to dry washables, enough plastic hangers to dry them, a help yourself cabinet, a good quality of air and a simple pleasant unimposing decorative style that felt more like ‘casa’ then corporate. I did not know Chueca and came to discover it is like the West Village used to be in NYC —with great finds. The only open 24 hr Church (St Anton) in Madrid is nearby as is the best tortilla I had in Spain at El Bujo and arguably the best natural food store–Casa Terra. As I discovered, the centrality of Casa Chueca’s location is excellent. I could go to the Prado and the other museums with a 15 minute walk and when I left it was a 25 minute taxi to the airport. Comments made by others in review are noteworthy: It is true that finding the front door of the building was puzzling until i realized there was a sign that was above me–higher than most–“ultreia” i say to pilgrim visitors. There is not an elevator. For me and my 30 pound backpack it was just one more hill on the Camino. And as for the snarky remark that the owner does not live in Casa Chueca, I would say, ‘I didn’t know this until i needed towels and with a call and five minutes time, I had them. As for any comment about noise I can only ask ‘have you lived in a city before?’ and ‘have you spent any time in old parts of European cities?’ If you have then you know the routine and that the deep narrow canyon calles echo all sounds of life. I would end this review as I started by highlighting the person res

The location of the hotel is very central, the location is good, and the price is very good! Attractions are within walking distance of 20 minutes. The hotel's signboard is not very obvious. When navigating past, pay attention to the right door bar of a large wooden door. The characters are very small, similar to the house number. When you find it, you need to ring the doorbell on the 4th floor. The counter will be connected and the door will be opened for people to enter. After entering, you can see the general apartment stairs, the elevator is a little inside, press the 4th floor (the fifth floor in China), you will see the CH sign after you go out, you can check in. The room is a bit smaller and has a fan in summer. The windows open at night, which is cool and does not require air conditioning. We stayed for two nights and it was quiet. There is a huge patio outside the window. Wind comes in slowly at night. It does not need air conditioning. (The hotel is similar to the private house renovation of a certain apartment in the apartment, with complete facilities, which is suitable for a few nights of transitional living.) We are satisfied with our stay!

This is not a hostel, but rooms. The description can be misleading. Great location for exploring central Madrid, lots of shops, bars, cafes etc in the area, the girl on reception was very helpful, rooms are clean and basic but adequate, comfy beds, good bathroom facilities. Avoid rooms 38 & 39 at the rear as they back onto an alley and we did get some noise early on Friday evening, but was all quiet by 11.00 pm. Also do not book if you struggle with stairs, there is a lift but a bit hit and miss.

For the price, I found a very honest accommodation. They initially put me in a good room on the reception side, but I asked to swap for the noise and they put me on the other side of the hotel (a door on the other side of the corridor. And it was great. No luxury, small room, but everything was clean and quiet. Except for a few days with more noisy guests, but nothing that would bother me much. Moreover, staff were very nice and requested and the hotel has a very legal balcony. Of course, the location is wonderful!

The location of this hotel is fairly close to Plaza Mayor, which is a definite plus, but it is also in the middle of a VERY lively bar / club area. This means that it is very noisy outside well into the night. We stayed near the end of Pride week, so that might have contributed to the party atmosphere. I was able to sleep OK, but my wife had issues with the noise. There are wooden shutters that can be closed to help. We needed to leave early for the airport, so this was a negative for us, otherwise, seems like it could be a really fun place to stay. I never asked, but it would be helpful for the hotel to supply ear plugs. The staf are very freindly and helpful. The WiFi was AWFUL. The only location I could get a reliable signal was in the entry way. We were in a family room on the 2nd floor. This will really depend on which room you get. I had good experience with the WiFi at the reception desk. The familiy room is well sized, with a large queen bed and bunk beds for the kids. Very comfortable.

I'm not going to bother with every shortcoming, but here are a few: 1. Loud. Inside and from the street. The cheap plastic floor covering that looks like it was installed by Stevie Wonder is loud. 2. The young woman who cleans the rooms unlocked our door and entered. No knock. I was in a two-bed room so it's not like she was entering a big dormitory. 3. Desk personnel were rude and unprofessional. 4. Breakfast was cheap loaves of sandwich bread with butter, maybe some peanut butter or jelly. If you can afford to stay in Madrid you will want to pay a few euro for a real breakfast. You get the point. I have traveled to a lot of places. I don't require luxury. I do require civility and competence. This place falls short in every respect. It is the worst place I have stayed in all of my travels.

Please Avoid this place. It is cheap but nothing else! I stayed here checked into the receiption which is 24 hours after my working day. The place is near the metro cuatro caminos (a mainly poorer area of Madrid with lots of south american population). The area does have a 24 hour supermarket which was good as the hostal has no food/drink facilities. The room was a very small single bed as I was alone on an education course for my job. The room had a fan and tv and a small table. Once you switch off the light the fan goes off so you cannot sleep with the fan on at night with 39c heat. you cannot leave the window open as its not a safe place. The first moment I checked in, i quickly went outside to get air and get the metro outside. They checked in a drunk african man at 6pm in the evening who was walking up the stairs with a can of beer unable to walk or see anything (their is no lift to the rooms) you need to walk up around 50 stairs to the rooms. They take anyone from the streets if they pay the small charge to stay here. Second day, the two receiptionists or owners were fighting over money from the hotel they were shouting and getting agressive. Its was an uncomfortable situation to see. I left and came back after work for a shower and the room had not been cleaned. They said you didnt put a badge on the door saying clean my room. Couldnt they knock and say something? Very strange way of working? The next day I put the badge clean my room but NO nothing changed. It was an excuse.. Then I went and complained he didnt speak any English and didnt want to know he said the cleaners left and nothing he can do. I pulled off the bedsheets, but the bed protector was badly stained with blood and I also got a skin rash. I left the property 1 day early, it was disgusting. The toilets were not cleaned either and insects were crawling everywhere. This place should be closed down immediately. They dont take security or cleaning seriously, they dont want to know problems only take your money. I explained to Expedia about this place but the hotel denied everything. SHAME!!!

Overall, the price is very high, and the trip is close to the Atocha train station, but it is very tiring to push the suitcase. There are 2 supermarkets near the hotel. It is convenient to buy daily necessities, and it is also near to Lichi Park . You have to clean the room by yourself. The room is quite large. On the last day, you must pay attention to LOCKER who checked out your luggage. Otherwise, it will be used up by others and there will be no place to send it. . . . .

We stayed here for a few short days in Madrid. The location is very convenient, both in regarding to walking distances and metro stops and buses. Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor can be visited by foot or transit. As well there are shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is on a higher floor within a secure building and entry is by key code (and buzzed in when you first arrive). It is nicely decorated and kept very clean. The bathroom has a shower with good water pressure and plenty of light. Our room was 2 twin beds with nightstands, lights, and conveniently placed plugs. There was also a desk, TV, and area to hang clothes. Our room looked out to the inner courtyard and was quiet. The air conditioning worked though we found we didn’t need it at that time of year with the ceiling fan sufficing. The staff were very kind, professional, and helpful especially since our flight was a very late night arrival. I would definitely stay here again.

The hostel is located on the 4th floor of a building few mt away from Plaza del Sol so basically the center of the center and this should be a great news but... 1) The room is approx 16 sq mt , it can fit just a bedroom and a very small bathroom 2) The closet is basically non existent . You can just put there a very small luggage and no shelves 3) Below the hotel you have at least 4 restaurant and most of all a pub which is open until 5 AM, and you'll basically have 24/7 people singing , loud, ect. This will happen on every single day of the week, not only the weekend 4) Each single morning at approx 5:30 AM you'll get the noise from the road cleaning plus the trucks delivering the beer.... to the pub! 5) The room , as well the window, is not sound proofed so... good luck with your sleep 6) The sun is hitting the building almost all day, so this means at night it's like Frodo it's about to drop a ring in your room. 7) The A/C it's noisy and due the fact that the room is so small it's basically 1mt away from your bed. Good look with your health To wrap up: good place for a night, but no longer than that!

Hotel that is not really a ... No reception on site which is located in another establishment****t of a adjacent street. A double-room, despite the persistent smell of freshly posed painting ... A simple room, at the same price, absolutely escaped: very demanding with bathroom of the same end; very difficult to return, no rangement possible and especially giving side street, which is particularly animated all night ... A this add the total absence of noise insonorization of the building that decouples the very noisy character of this establishment*****t : Telephone, access to conversations including telephones from your room neighbors, doors that clack, voice screams and ************** ... live guaranteed! For the telereality amateurs this can therefore do the case... The only positive points are: - The innocent cleanliness of this establishment*****t. The only soul that lives and possible interlocutor... - His geographical location - And especially the establishment*****t from the face! Blume Cruz suites where you can take a delicious breakfast while enjoying a particularly sympathetic and warm welcome :)

This was an excellent place to stay, the rooms are decent size, clean, beds were comfortable, ac was working well. We had booked 3 weeks in advance and we still managed to get a decent price for 3 night, if you can book earlier, you can avail of great deals. The hostal is close to the Metro stop 'Columbia' and the streets leading up to it has lovely little restaurants, cafés especially the El Horno café which was excellent, there is also a Carrefour thats open till late. It is well connected to all the main spots in Madrid by bus or metro. Christian from the staff was very sweet and accommodating- we had quite an early flight in and we just came to deposit the bags- but he let us check in early when usually one has to pay for it. All in all, great location, comfortable rooms, 20 mins away from the main spots yet near to the city center and Santiago Bernabeau stadium. Totally recommended!

Our family of three had a tiny room barely big enough for the beds and no space for luggage. The door didn't even close without having to push it past the bed. But the main reason for the 1 star is that our room was broken into our first night while we were out to dinner. The door frames are very cheaply made. Oddly, nothing was stolen but it was upsetting. We had to repeatedly ask the management to fix the door and nothing was done to make things right. We were told we couldn't be moved to another room until our last night there, even though the room next to us became available. There are no additional facilities - no common areas, no self-catering. Just a room and that's it. Some of the rooms seem to be of a good size but as stated ours was very small. There was no fridge. The hotel has security problems. It can be accessed by anyone through the back by entering through the main building doors which were never locked. There was even a ladder propped up near the back windows making it easy to climb up to access the unbarred upper windows. Repeated attempts to address this were met with indifference by the front desk staff and I was told to contact the owner. I emailed, called, and sent a whatsapp and never got a response.

Hotel with the necessary services. Sparano, but clean. Excellent location for metro (Ventas and Manuel Becerra), restaurants, services. Silent street. Not offering breakfast, but turning the corner there is the embarrassment of the choice. A friendly staff and able to meet the needs. Excellent communication also with whatsapp. Possibility of late check in up to 2am.

I and a friend of mine have been in Madrid for 4 days and decided to stay in this amazing hostel: it has all the comforts near and is 3 minutes from the Gran Via. Excellent location, front of the police command and on the street leading to the hostel there is the Carrefour open 24 hours of 24 hours. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and very beautiful: they change their handbags every day and re-room despite being a hostel. Super recommended

Excellent location, almost on Paseo del Prado and close to Puerta de Atocha station. The room was not big, but not ridiculously small, with good facilities (private bathroom, good Wi-fi connection). We did not see much of the staff but the room was cleaned every morning when we came back after breakfast (not provided in the hotel). The air-con worked well (no additional charge whatsoever), it should not have been necessary at night but for the noise of other machines when we opened the window.

The hotel is ideally located to walk to the city's main attractions. It is located A 10-15 minutes walk from the station where a bus shuttle regularly (once every 15 minutes) to reach the airport. The staff is really friendly. Check in and check out easy and fast. There is a possibility to leave your baggage if you arrive before check-in and leave after check-out. I have not given the five stars because, unfortunately, the walls are really thin and the room neighbors and people in the streets feel, but with a couple of ears, everything is resolved. Another “negative” note is that shampoo and shampoo shower are very small and very difficult to open (I opened them by stripping them with my mouth 😅). So I recommend you to take the shampoo/shampoo from home. I found it really comfortable, and I would like to recommend the hotel to all, suggesting that you should take ears and shampoo/shampoo shower.

My stay was exceptional. The apartment is beautifully decorated with vibrant colours and modern furnishings, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Madrid, making it easy to explore the city's main attractions on foot. The host was incredibly attentive and provided detailed recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The apartment was spotless and well-equipped with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

Good location on metro and bus routes and within walking distance of many sights. Not luxurious but given the cost i wouldn't expect it to be. The apartment (1 bedroom) was clean and spacious enough. All single beds /sofa bed so if you wanted a double this room wouldn't be suitable Balconies not for sitting on as they arec tiny. Oven not usable due to no racks but hob was fine for a short visit. The bathroom was the main problem as a strong stomach was needed to cope with the smell, we had to keep the bathroom door permanently closed tight to avoid it stinking out the whole apartment. Probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend but not awful if you just want a basic place to crash.

For the price of the room ( around 140 Euros or 7 nights), I was very satisfied. It is a family run hotel and all the staff were very helpful and some speak good English. There is no lift system but however, the stairs are wide and there are only a few floors. The free Wifi connection is good and there is a bar/ restaurant which is not expensive. The Metro is several minutes walk away and easy to find.
