Starting with a private boat ride to the hotel is a great way to get there. The location is close to the iconic rialto bridge. When you get in you get a quick explanation of the history and background of the building and it's (former) owners. It has limited number of rooms that are fully equipped and modern by every standard, super quiet airco/heater, high end tv with apple tv, free bar in room, etc. All of which you would expect for the price tag. The location is perfect and if you don't know it and want to reach it by walking, good luck in finding the entrance! Unfortunately the wellness was closed due to Covid. The staff is very helpful and attentive in general. The breakfast was great, you ask what you want and they serve it. The view from the breakfast room was amazing, the chairs for a 5 foot 6 inch (197 cm) are a little challenge, it is like sitting in an old 911! We tried to get lunch and after an initial glitch were able to get the dinner menu. We also tried dinner and were taking the recommendation of the chef, which was the only point we weren't impressed about. Overall i have to say it is worth a short stay to explore the town, and also enjoy this magical place!FromBRL 10,991

Had a 2 night stay booked in the Hilton Stucky, in a Club room, Venice. Arrived at 11am as we just came off a cruise. Unable to check in till 3pm which was unfortunate. Got access to the executive lounge and to say I was disappointed is an understatement, looks like a corridor off the main lounge, as there was no solid divider the noise was too much, have used Hilton brand around the world and as a past Diamond member, was left disappointed with this one. After checking in at 3pm we went to the room, 3rd floor, take something to leave a trail as there are many corridors to navigate to get to the room. The suit was large and tidy, but overall it looked dated & tiered Plenty storage Bathroom was large with Bath & shower, problems with them draining. Also a lot of mould in shower Not that I watch a lot of Tv, but only 3 English channels, 2 news programs Take plenty of bug spray, as lots of bugs in the hotel and they bite a lot Good shuttle into St Marks, every 30mins, only takes 39 pax at a time, so beware at busy times. We stayed in a canal view room and while the room was very compact, it was beautifully decorated & furnished. It was sparkling clean & had a lovely balcony overlooking the grand canal. The breakfast was great- you could even make your own pancakes!
The hotel staffs were all really polite, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you arrive by train or bus as only about. 5 minute walk from the train station.

A perfect little gem… We Stayed here for 5 nights and what a wonderful little hotel that we found and we’re lucky to have stayed at.
The location of the hotel opposite the main train station with the bus station just a 5 minute walk was fantastic.
From the air conditioning, to the showers that worked perfectly, to the beds that were so comfortable after a day of site seeing pounding the streets.
We really had an enjoyable stay whilst celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and cannot thank each and everyone of the staff enough, they were professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, I could go on and on.

an excellent hotel with excellent service. We had 5 rooms reserved at the hotel. We left the hotel to go to Ravenna via the trains. We left our Apple air pods in of one the rooms. The gentleman from the front desk (morning shift - sorry I don’t remember his name) on his own walked over the train station, tracked us down and surprised us to give us the air pods. I travel a lot and have never seen such exceptional service. Literally, because of his level of exceptional service from when we checked in to now, we decided to change our hotels (when we return from the cruise) to stay again at The Carlton because of his above and beyond attitude. Disappointed by the level of service and outdated hotel. For that very pricy 4 stars hotel, I would have appreciated a higher level.. the staff was not particularly friendly neither helpful. The room was very dark with casi no natural light, not renovated like the booking picture. The bathtub was broken, they send someone that didn’t care of it and said it was indeed broken, reception didn’t propose anything in exchange. I ended up trying to fix myself for 1/2h. Bit sad.. also the Jacuzzi/public bath or gym are not accessible for free. You have to pay and book ahead.. you would imagine it’s included in the price. Positive side: very well located in the center, in the main luxury street, explain the price I guess? The rooftop is really the highlight with beautiful sunset, where we drunk our complementary bottle. The breakfast is really good, one of the best so far. Will not come back, not worthy.FromBRL 1,109

What I am most satisfied with is the bedding and the public space is beautiful. Hotel room rates fluctuate a bit every day. Venice is all about walking anyway. We put necessary changes in our backpacks and sent our suitcases to the hotel. Wait until after 15:00 to check if there is a cheaper price. For the first time staying at this hotel, the facilities are relatively simple, but the environment, service and hygiene are very good. Especially when I left the Apple X mobile phone at the hotel when I left the store, I remembered asking my daughter to contact the hotel before I boarded the plane. When I was transferring, the hotel told the mobile phone to find it. The key is that the photos I take on the trip are all on my phone, otherwise it will be a pity. The downsides were not having good view (facing the other building’s rooftop) and water pressure was weak and not hot enough. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location. Salute Station is definitely the first choice when entering Venice. It can be quiet and quiet. The hotel is next to the Dormition Church. The other side of the canal is St. Mark's Square. One stop is very convenient for shipping. The hotel in located steps away from Rialto bridge and the water taxi is located steps away form hotel front door The hotel is very old as our most things in Venice , the lobby is nice , the staff is wonderful and go out of their way to to take care of their guest Are room was on the small side , we had 2 Windows that over looked an alley , so not much of view . Room was decorated in traditional Old Italian decor , it was reallnice and I came to appreciate it more and more . We had nice bathroom , shower had lots of water pressure and hot water . The AC worked fantastic I mentioned the room ws on smaller side , but once we organized our suits cases it was more than ample space . We were out all day and if the afternoons we would come back and enjoy our room . The hotel offered a nice breakfast every morning , and there were 2 or 3 restaurants and coffee bars right outside of the front door Hotel is centrally located at rialto bridge , it is an easy walk to San Marks square and other areas of Venice . We venture to the neighborhoods across the Rialto bridge , we found lots of great restaurants and cafes with a lot less tourist . Overall we loved our stay at Ca Rialto and would definitey stay here again The also have outside deck that offers a view of the Grand Cannel , great spot to bring bottle of wine and drink on the deck and enjoy the view

The reception was competent, nice and courteous. First they offered us the luggage service. After that we were taken to the elevator and room. The page followed up the stairs. The room, a junior suite deluxe, has a size of almost 65 square meters including the bathroom. In addition to special pieces of furniture, fine wall fabrics, ”terrazzo alla veneziana” and elegant wooden floors create a Venetian flair. The open plan living area with mini bar leads through the sleeping area to the fine marble bathroom with bathtub and shower. Anyone who knows the Doge's Palace knows that the Junior Suite Deluxe also embodies beauty and splendor. The breakfast is good and diverse. The buffet includes bread and rolls, spreads, cheese and sausage, cold dishes such as yoghurt, hot dishes such as sausages, fruit, salad, desserts such as mousse and drinks. Special requests can also be ordered à la carte. The service is quick and courteous. The clean Venetian hotel comes with a heartfelt recommendation.

We went there first to check in and get our key. We had a fabulous welcome from a front of house person and were given a map, some very helpful information and that was very much appreciated. We were helped with our bags to our apartment, settled in and shown where things were. It was a great way to have an additional bed without the cost of an extra hotel room. We were impressed with the lovely European styling of the apartment and excellent facilities - a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave. Our bins were emptied each day, we were there for 3 nights and felt safe, secure.

You can see the main island of Venice. In terms of transportation, there is a ferry to and from San Marco Square on the main island. |1.04km from city centerWe stayed here for 3 nights early September for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was the first time we’d been to Venice and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Before I write the hotel review, I would like to highlight to travellers that haven’t been to Venice before and perhaps aren’t aware of how the travel works to and from the airport that no cars are allowed onto the Venice island. We weren’t aware of this before we travelled and paid €90 (£80) for a taxi that drops you at the termini. You then head over a very large bridge and walk to your hotel. I would recommend that you take the bus from the airport which takes the same length of time for around €11 (£10). The buses leave the airport terminal frequently. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk from the termini. I would recommend paying the £2 roaming fees (check price with your network provider) as it would have been impossible to find the hotel without- we arrived quite late at night. We had let the hotel know that we would be arriving late and they arranged for a member of staff to be there to greet us. The hotel is small, with very few rooms, but lovely and very comfortable. Our bedroom had a balcony that looked onto the canal- not sure all rooms do, so definitely ask if this option is available as the view was beautiful in the morning. Although the room also overlooked the streets it was very quiet and we weren’t disturbed. Breakfast was tasty- it was a cold breakfast of cereal, yogurt, meats, cheese, rolls and pastries and the coffee was delicious! There are lots restaurants and bars close to the hotel. You will find that a lot of them around lunch and dinner will not serve drinks only- you will need to search out these places that will. A lot of people tend to head towards the Grand Canal for meals. You will pay extra in these places and to be honest they aren’t as nice as the cute quirky places around the side streets. There is a very small pizza/pasta place with canal side eating, close to the hotel called Al Garzoti. It’s highly rated on trip advisor and was delicious and cheap- it gets very busy so you will need to book. We didn’t take a gondola, but there are plenty of these available. If I remember rightly a 30 minute ride was around €70. We did take one of the boat trips to a couple of the neighbouring islands- I would definitely recommend seeing Burano. The colourful houses and buildings are so pretty! These boat rides are pretty reasonably priced. Enjoy your trip to Venice! :)

While many reviews say it is hard to find - it is not. Google walking instructions TOTALLY WORK. Look at signs on the buildings - they are small but there. The hotel e-mailed me AND WhatsApp messaged me before the stay to make sure I filled out the visitor paperwork / information they need. The hotel then e-mailed me the codes to get in to the building and our room. They do have someone on site - the house keeper is there in the morning through around 2:00 pm. There is no breakfast that we could see but we did not pay for one. The room was comfortable, the location fantastic, and we were very happy with our stay.

|1.58km from city centerEverything you read about Ca’Maria Callas is true - the fantastic location, elegant rooms, helpful and friendly employees, great breakfast, and magical atmosphere created by the church bells and singing gondoliers passing by your window on the picturesque canal beneath. We arrived late so nobody was on duty at this time. However, clear instructions had kindly been sent to us via phone by Chiara so this was not a problem. We did not get the actual room I’d seen online with small balcony - but I soon realised that this was because we’d been given a newly refurbished one. This was the occasion of my 60th birthday, and thoughtful touches such as this and the complimentary gift received were both surprising and greatly appreciated. (Note: For the info of any older guests, I have been remiss in not taking photos inside, but would just point out that the bedroom of this particular room was quite dark and there was a fairly steep staircase leading to the bathroom above). The bed was extremely comfortable and WiFi very efficient, whilst the bathroom upstairs was clean, lovely and light, modern, and well equipped - and it too overlooked the canal, which I had not anticipated so this was an added bonus! Breakfasts were substantial and delicious and the waitresses warm and friendly. Unfortunately, I have mislaid the name of the young man on Reception, but he was exceptional. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him, and he made everything so easy when answering our questions with a smile. He also recommended a great spot for hiring a gondolier for my special birthday gondola ride, which was just perfect! This property really does have something special in my opinion - you feel instantly at home in this traditional building with its internal courtyard, downstairs door opening directly onto a canal, and warm hospitality. Despite being in the San Marco area within such easy walking distance of vaporetto stops and lively restaurants and bars, its quiet and peaceful location tucked away behind La Fenice Theatre is such that it makes you feel as if you’re in the very heart of am authentic local area of Venice!

We chose a room facing the canal and didn't regret it - when else would you get to waken up to see gondolas sail past your window from your 4 poster bed? There's still a possibility of enjoying this view if you have a city facing view as there is one table in the dining room for breakfast that allows you to overlook it while enjoying your boiled egg and toast too. Felt so pampered here with the owner even messaging me ahead of arrival as aware of dietary needs (coeliac) and having options at breakfast for me. Would definitely stay again. it is a perfect location if you want to visit the islands (Murano, Burano) as the water taxi for these is just round the corner.

Some parts will have no pedestrian pavement so you walk in the main road. If you do choose to walk it, it’s probably a good 15-20 mins.
For those who opt for taxi, it’s Euro30 just to turn that corner and enter the airport. Expensive but that’s how it is.
The hotel itself I would consider a bit over priced.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not big, just standard size. Staff are helpful and no queues for check in/out.

Rooms varied in size and comfort, mine was very conveniently just off reception. Others in our group weren't as lucky and found their room a bit small with noise above at night, but I guess that can happen anywhere. In my opinion any hotel's greatest asset would be the staff and we found the majority of hotel staff to be very helpful. Reception staff all spoke excellent English and John was especially helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with. A decent selection of food for breakfast, plenty of fresh fruit. Complimentary tea and coffee in the room and lovely selection of little extras in the bathroom. I would definitely stay again.

The gentleman from the front desk (morning shift - sorry I don’t remember his name) on his own walked over the train station, tracked us down and surprised us to give us the air pods. I travel a lot and have never seen such exceptional service. Literally, because of his level of exceptional service from when we checked in to now, we decided to change our hotels (when we return from the cruise) to stay again at The Carlton because of his above and beyond attitude. Thank you for your hospitality and outstanding experience from the point of when we first checked in.

|0.57km from city centerCome out of the train station and follow the navigation. It's easy to find hahaha, but it's actually opposite the station and walks into the alley. The handsome guys at the front desk are very nice. Check-in time is two o'clock in the afternoon. We arrived around ten o'clock in the morning. Fortunately, we were able to check in after half an hour. There is a street opposite the station, there are many people at night, and there is a supermarket which is very convenient. It happened to meet Venice once in a hundred years. The water level is good, the hotel is located high, and the first floor is fine. Although there are not many types of breakfast, the croissant likes it! The hotel does not have hot water, you can go to the front desk to get it, the city tax for 2 people and 2 nights is 12 euros!

|1.61km from city centerWe are disappointed. This is not a 4 star hotel and highly overpriced for this poor quality. Overall feeling this is a hotel from 1990 and it was no renovation, maintenance since 30 years. We booked a ”Double Classic Room” and we got a room on the attic level which look total different than in the website images what we booked and expected. Morover we paid €325/night a month earlier but at arrival day it was just €255/night and the higher category Delux room was €288/night in their website. Which means we paid a higher price for a much lower quality room than even the Delux Room. It is not fair game. It would be fair if those lower quality rooms would be a different category with real images and for a lower price. We showed to the night receptionist that our room is different than on the website images what we booked, he was arrogant and aggressive, he repeated our room is ”correct category”. The room was on the attic level (5th floor) we can reach through a dilapidated small stair. The room has a fake air conditioner, a box which blows some air, but it is total ineffective, our room had almost 27C as we could see on the screen on the wall. Of course the receptionist said our room is 19C according to their computer, this was not true, the room was really hot. They said it is hot because of the attic floor, they provided a fan. The hotel could say they have AC, but the quality is really poor and total useless. We slept with a sleeping pill. Next day the boss lady gave us the Delux Room on the 2nd floor which was a better room than the attic one. The temperature was here ”lower” 25C with the same poor fake AC box. The hairdryer on the wall looks like a hoover from 1950, it was also total ineffective. The leathers on the chair and bed was very worn. Minibar fridge also poor quality. The ventilation in the bedroom did not work, it was like a sauna, so we needed ask service. But some hours later when we arrived our room door was open (20cm gap), the service guy forgot to close the room, fortunately earlier we have put everything in the safe box. It is a great irresponsibility from a hotel if a staff forgot to close the room of the quest. It is very sad for this base daily price the hotel unable to reinvest the money and make developments and maintaince. The location is nice, everything is very near in Venice. The other receptionist with the mustache was a nice guy. Venice has medieval design, but it does not mean the quality should be worn. For example we was also in the Gritti Palace, it was old fashion design but in good quality. Venice has 25 million tourist a year, but overall unfortunatelly the city is very dilapidated, I think it should be much more renovation and maintaince, I bet the old medieval buildings looked nice and not worn when they were built.
