Getting in and out of the car at the hotel entrance was inconvenient, with no shelter from the rain, which was a hassle on rainy days. The road was also narrow and prone to traffic jams. The smart home system needs improvement; it wasn't very responsive. Several TVs had no signal, and casting to the device ultimately failed, which felt quite inconvenient. Overall, it was decent. Our butler, Bruce, was excellent, efficient, and professional.

A true hidden gem in this modern high-rise. The hotel is in the same building as the Novotel – specifically, Citadines occupies floors 15 to 18. The check-in experience is an absolute 10/10: the team is incredibly welcoming, offering coffee, tea, and small pastries, plus there's a very pleasant coworking space. The rooms feel like compact studios with a kitchenette: microwave, washing machine, dryer, a full-sized fridge, and lots of storage. The bed and pillows are supremely cozy, and the shower… just wow! The water pressure is outstanding – truly a delight. The door goes from floor to ceiling, so steam from long, hot showers stays inside the bathroom. The sink area is a little tight, but perfectly fine for one or two people. Special shout-out: the magnifying mirror and the Japanese toilet – a real touch of luxury that I thoroughly enjoyed. This time was just a long weekend, and we had a fantastic, relaxing stay. The only small drawback: the metro is about 1 km away, maybe slightly farther. But the value for money is so excellent that what you save on the hotel more than covers a taxi ride. In fact, I had a 6:00 am train from Hongqiao and pre-ordered a Didi – it took just 15 minutes door to door, which was incredibly convenient for me. Considering how reasonable the price at Citadines already is, the Didi cost felt like nothing. That sealed the deal for me. This is my third time staying here, and it remains my go-to place in Shanghai. Highly recommended – I'll be back again soon.

Fantastic! Excellent! Superb! My brother-in-law highly recommended this place, and I've stayed here with him many times before. Every visit is consistently excellent. The breakfast ingredients are fresh and delicious, just like the high-quality items you'd find at the Sam's Club next door. The unique large floor-to-ceiling screen windows offer a refreshing view of ”Zhaoxiang Sports Park.” It's incredibly convenient for swimming, fitness, parking, Starbucks, Sam's Club, the Outlets, and the high-speed rail. After downloading the app, using the AI smart lamp is very convenient. Just hand your phone to the front desk, and in a few minutes, it's all set up. This makes using the elevator, opening doors, and calling for services much easier and more hassle-free in the future. Hongqiao Hub Kaiyuan Manju, we're happy for every improvement you make!

We loved our short stay at MoYu Movie Hotel! It is in an excellent location - close to the metro and so many areas! The movie element was everywhere - from the front desk reception to how your room key looks. So festive, especially for movie lovers! 🎬 The room was comfortable - especially the bed. The shower had a waterfall feature which is always great - soaps and shampoos smelled nice. The front desk was super helpful to help me find a package and also contacted us about a shirt we left behind. They went above and beyond! We would stay here again!

I had a good stay at Novotel Shanghai. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient, with nice walking areas, a beautiful waterway nearby, and many restaurants, coffee shops, and fast food options around, including Subway in the hotel building itself. My only suggestion would be to improve the breakfast variety. The options were more focused on Chinese breakfast choices, so I would have liked to see a wider international selection. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.

I booked connecting room but the previous guest late check out so hotel upgrade to deluxe suite. The hotel is grand. It has a living room with 3 seater leather sofa. Fresh flowers on the table and in the bathroom. There are 2 bathrooms, one with only toilet seat. The other bathroom has shower, bathtub and toilet seat. Downside is no bidet. Room is spacious with leather seat at the front of the bed to sit and wear shoes. The curtains are controlled by button, very high tech. It is high floor so it has a good view. The hair dryer is good quality. There is a sofa in the room too. Location not too central. Didi about 30-40mins to The Bund, about 30mins to Disneyland. It is located within a housing neighbourhood but it has a small mall within 10 mins walking distance. There is a Chinese shop selling Chinese medicine across the street. Other than the distance, the room is great. The hotel slippers are super comfortable with a silk feel, unlike other hotels. For laundry, not self service, has to pass the clothes to hotel to wash with charges. Can look at the photos.

A perfect National Day holiday experience, highly recommend Anandi Hotel Shanghai! I came for a relaxing and healing break during the National Day holiday, and the entire stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel environment is secluded and peaceful, and the wooden guest rooms are warm and soothing. The Eath mattress, various pillows, sleep aid device, and wellness bath sachets were all provided, ensuring an exceptionally sound night's sleep. The balcony offered a wide view, and the hot tub was incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. The Hengyue Xinshe hot spring, singing bowls, and yoga workshop activities were abundant, and there were also special craft experiences during the National Day, creating a strong holiday atmosphere. I must especially praise our dedicated butler, Yoyo! Despite the large number of guests during the holiday, Yoyo was attentive and thoughtful throughout. During check-in, she meticulously explained all the healing facilities in the room and provided a personalized wellness tea based on my constitution. Any requests were responded to incredibly quickly.

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel. The ambiance throughout the property was sophisticated, and the staff's service was meticulous, making my stay incredibly comfortable. What particularly stood out was the hot spring. The atmosphere was superb, and it felt like I was experiencing the luxury of a Japanese ryokan, even though I was abroad. I believe it's on par with the best ryokans in Japan. Among them, Mr. Gao's service was exceptional; he was incredibly attentive to every detail and escorted us with care throughout our stay. Thanks to him, it became an even more special and pleasant experience. The hotel's atmosphere, the hot spring, and the thoughtfulness of all the staff were all magnificent. I stayed one night at Yuansu Hot Spring Hotel in Shanghai, and the overall experience was better than expected. The room was very clean and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. My favorite part was the private hot spring tub in the room. After returning in the evening, I could soak anytime without needing a reservation, which offered excellent privacy. The hotel also offers therapeutic activities like meditation. Unfortunately, I only stayed one night and didn't have much time to try them, but they seemed quite unique. Parking at the hotel is very convenient, with plenty of spaces available. If you're driving, you basically don't have to worry about parking. The hotel staff provided excellent and patient service. They were always quick to help with any issues and spoke very kindly. Even though it was just a one-night stay, the overall experience was great. If I'm looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy a hot spring in Shanghai in the future, I would definitely consider coming back here.

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service! Thankyou for the wonderful stay, I felt very welcome at all times.

We had a fantastic stay and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, always even greeting us at the door, opening doors and checking cars for belongings left behind after long shopping trips. The hotel has a beautiful, luxurious atmosphere, with excellent facilities including a very well-equipped gym and separate men’s and women’s sauna and steam rooms as well as a pool and hot tub. There is also an onsite spa opened till 2am! The ‘This Works’ bathroom toiletries in the rooms were a lovely touch and smelled wonderful. Breakfast was outstanding, with an impressive selection and freshly prepared omelettes, steamed buns and pancakes. The English-speaking staff were also incredibly helpful throughout our stay and provided great recommendations of places to see and where to eat close by. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Nanjing Road and the Bund. Overall, a beautifully presented hotel with genuinely excellent service — we would happily stay here again and am glad we chose to stay here as there are an overwhelming amount of choices available but we feel we made a great choice!

Facilities: This is an old-school five-star hotel. While the style has a bit of history to it, everything is impeccably clean. It truly showcases the quality of a five-star hotel and makes you feel at ease. Hygiene: Nothing to complain about, absolutely excellent! Spotless. Environment: Many foreigners stay here, making it feel like you're abroad. Of course, Shanghai is indeed an international metropolis, and you see a lot of foreigners on the streets. Service: I have to complain about the hotel's breakfast, specifically the noodle and wonton station right at the entrance. You're a five-star hotel, after all. Yet, the wontons and noodles are pre-cooked. If you want some, they just roll them around in the broth, which is incredibly perfunctory. They taste mushy. It really cheapens the experience. They even give you a tag and tell you to pick it up after three minutes. Does it really take three minutes to swish something in a pot? It's out in 20 seconds, tops. However, the egg pancakes are made fresh! An egg pancake requires tomatoes, onions, minced meat, mixing, spreading, rolling, and plating – wow, that sounds like a lot of work, right? But they make each one fresh, and you have to wait for it. If no one orders, they just leave the pan empty! You guys are truly dedicated! Perhaps wontons and Chinese noodles just don't 'agree' with hotel settings, and they have to be pre-cooked. That's a tough pill to swallow.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. I booked an executive twin room with my child. The room was clean, and its location right in the heart of Jing'an Temple makes dining and taking the subway incredibly convenient. I first booked it because of its proximity to Eileen Chang's former residence, Changde Apartment, and I booked it again because of its excellent location and service. My child particularly loves the hot spring pool here. We also ate several meals at CP Jing'an this time, which was very convenient. However, you need to watch the time when taking a taxi. I noticed during this trip to Shanghai that Jing'an Temple is really congested. Getting to the hotel was a constant jam, and the ride to the airport was also quite slow. The hotel breakfast is excellent! There's a wide variety, and I always eat too much. Check-out time is also very flexible; my flight was at 4 PM, and the front desk staff kindly extended our check-out to 1:30 PM, which was fantastic service. I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

Decent stay, but several misses for a 5-star property My stay at the Pullman Shanghai Central was a mixed bag—nice in some areas, but disappointing in others. Check-in: The staff were very friendly and welcoming on our first day. However, I was surprised that they wouldn't let me check in until 3:00 PM. At most other hotels, I'm usually able to get an early check-in (even if I arrive at noon), so this felt a bit rigid for a property of this level. The Room: The room itself was comfortable—the bed was soft and the shower pressure was actually perfect (not too strong, not too weak, just right). Unfortunately, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke upon arrival. To their credit, when I called the front desk, they immediately offered to change my room, which was very professional of them. Breakfast: This was the biggest letdown. The breakfast buffet felt more like what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel rather than a 5-star Pullman. The quality and selection just weren't there for me. Overall: It was an okay stay—nothing terrible, but nothing exceptional either. I wouldn't rate it a 10/10, more like a solid 6. Good service from the staff, but the check-in policy, smoke issue, and food really held it back.

The room was spacious enough, and the location was absolutely superb, offering an unobstructed view of the Bund right across the street. It's right next to Binjiang Park, so you just cross the road and you're by the river. Super Brand Mall is right next door, and the Pudong Art Museum is also very close. There are plenty of dining options nearby as well. Whether you're in a car or walking, the 'Three Piece Set' (Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center) is constantly in view. The breakfast was incredibly rich and diverse. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is because there was no bidet.

Also, the handsome guys and beautiful ladies at Flair were all very nice. I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely lady who checked us in, but her recommendations for hotel benefits really saved us some money. The river view room was decent, and watching the lights of Pudong Development Bank from it was worth the price. Although it shows some signs of age, 'The Lion King' (referring to the Ritz) is still a worthy visit among the luxury brands in the city.

My friend said the elevator decor instantly made her feel like she'd 'traveled through time,' and that unique 'Haitian style' evoked long-lost memories of Shanghai. She had originally come to sightsee but happily spent most of her day lingering at the hotel. What she loved most were the terrace and the restaurant. On a summer evening, the breeze felt just like those childhood nights spent cooling off in the alleyways – she used to live in a Shikumen house. She remarked, 'If only I could lie in a wicker chair, fan myself with a palm-leaf fan, eat watermelon, and watch an outdoor movie, that would be truly divine.' She also adored the red hanging ornament in the lobby; it was vibrantly bright, yet its glass texture gave it a lively feel, much like Shanghai's character – passionate yet steady, with a touch of lightness within its composure. The food did not disappoint either. I pushed her to try the Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant, where the owner asked in Shanghainese, 'Mi dao ai hao fa?' (Is the taste good?), and she smiled and replied, 'Authentic,' instantly tearing up. She specifically bought the sweet variety of butterfly pastries from the International Hotel – saying 'only sweet is truly Shanghai.' Her only regret was: having stayed in too many foreign-style grand hotels, this time, with Shanghai elements everywhere and Shanghai flavors in every bite, it was 'just missing the sound of Shanghai.' Perhaps the cicada chirps in the alleyways and the hawkers' cries from the Shikumen are the hometown sounds she truly yearns to hear. However, she has already declared: the next time she returns, this will be her chosen hotel, and she plans to visit all the routes I arranged. I believe the charm of Shanghai has never been in its superficial glamour but in its ability to always find the most fitting way to blend East and West, ancient and modern, living as a unique 'Haipai' (Shanghai style). This is also the root that every Shanghainese person cherishes. Below are the three half-day itinerary options I created for her, which I've also compiled here, hoping they might help someone else: Option 1 · A Stroll Through Old Shanghai Charm Start from the hotel's main entrance on Fengyang Road and turn into Huanghe Road. The Changjiang Building and Changjiang Theater were the last residences of Eileen Chang; Huanghe Road is the origin of 'Blossoms Shanghai' (Fan Hua). The International Hotel is where her mother and aunt once stayed; next to it, the Sports Museum is rumored to be where Eileen Chang used to study. Diagonally opposite is the History Museum (formerly the Racecourse); the East Wing houses the old bronze lions from the HSBC Building on the Bund, and the 'Echoes of Shanghai' exhibition in the West Wing happens to talk about the past of Fengyang Road. The ornate windows of the West Wing and the Changjiang Building, mirroring the hotel's architecture, perfectly showcase the most fashionable Art Deco style of the 1930s. Option 2 · Tracing Red Memories Walk along Chengdu North Road to the Secretariat of the China Labor Movement, to see how Shanghai workers united into a revolutionary force; then visit the former site of the Songpu Special Committee. Go to the Sihang Warehouse to hear the echoes of the Battle of Shanghai and see the bullet-riddled walls recount the tragedy of that year. At night, turn into Xiang Kang Li on Xinchang Road to find the former site of the CCP Central Committee's secret printing press; on Nanjing West Road, there is also the former site of the Soviet Liaison Office, where, amidst the flickering lights, memories of the past reside. Option 3 · Modern and Retro Collision The LV 'Big Boat' on Nanjing West Road is currently a popular spot for photos; after visiting, turn into Wujiang Road for shopping and dining, and further ahead is Zhangyuan Shikumen – where new trends emerge in old alleyways, perfect for capturing stunning photos. Food Tips · The hotel restaurant's afternoon tea set is exquisite and picture-perfect. · Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant (the owner's Shanghainese is a living signboard). · Deda Western Restaurant and Gongdelin Noodle Restaurant, each with its own charm. · Donghai Small Restaurant (authentic Ningbo cuisine). · Chongming cuisine on the second floor of the hotel, authentic local flavors. · International Hotel butterfly pastries, remember to choose the sweet ones. Though the day was short, the essence of Shanghai will give her much to savor. When she returns next time, we'll continue our journey.

The Peace Hotel truly lives up to its reputation as the face of Shanghai; as a Shanghainese myself, I'm so proud of it! I particularly recommend their guided tours, held daily at 10 AM and 2 PM. The half-hour explanation gives you insight into its century-long history, and there are many beautiful crafts to admire too. Beyond my expectations, I was very satisfied. I stayed for one night and bought two and a half-day tickets. No need to wake up early, I had a great time. I slept until I woke up naturally, had breakfast, and then slowly headed out. The front desk service was very attentive; the staff, both male and female, were all very thoughtful. The Woody and Donald Duck pancakes at breakfast were delicious. It's rare that the coffee wasn't bad, and the Mickey disposable coffee cup was a pleasant touch. My child and I both loved the complimentary luggage tag. If I had to pick two things that weren't satisfactory: 1. For a hotel at this price, it surprisingly didn't have a swimming pool. 2. I have to complain about their room service. After returning to the hotel from Disney, I was already very tired. I ordered a tomato seafood beef noodle for 118, and specifically called to ask for two sets of children's cutlery. They said it was all disposable and they would give me a few extra sets. However, when it was delivered to the room, they only gave two extra pairs of disposable chopsticks but no food containers. That was quite thoughtless.
