Love this hotel. Its very accessible to everything we want to go to. We had a kinda small room but I think its the standard specially when you are in a budget but for all the savings we got because of the accessible transpo via MRT, its worth it. There are also a lot of resto downstairs, nearest hawker is 5mins away. Money changer downstairs, free weighing scale in the lobby, lot of stores, mall nearby and of course the MRT beside the hotel is really great. Highly recommend!

Overall, the hotel offers a pleasant stay with a convenient location close to many tourist attractions, making it easy to explore the area. The facilities and overall environment are satisfactory, contributing to a comfortable experience. However, there was a minor issue with cleanliness, as some stains were found on the bed. While this did not completely affect the stay, improving housekeeping standards would make the experience even better.

We were going to store our luggage before checking in, but luckily the front desk staff Mr. Faddilli assisted us for an early check in. We were very happy for the early check in. The hotel location is superb and the lobby is very spacious. But there were not much amenities provided for a 4 star hotel. Overall we are satisfied.

Super clean room, relatively new, with nice hospitality.
We stayed 2 nights in a standard queen room with 2 adults and a 2-year-old child. The room has limited space for movement, but it was sufficient for resting at night after spending the day exploring the city.
Under-bed storage is very useful for keeping belongings and freeing up space. There is limited space for prayer, but it was still manageable. We brought a stroller and were able to place it behind the door. You just need to organize your belongings well.
The hotel provides two bottles of water, standard amenities (shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste), a bidet, TV, and Wi-Fi.
Good location—only a short walk to Lavender MRT station and a bus stop. The area feels safe, with many restaurants and cafés along the way, even at night. A FairPrice supermarket is also available nearby for daily necessities.
Halal food options near the hotel are limited; I only found two Indian restaurants, though this may be due to limited exploration.
Soundproofing is not perfect, and some noise from surrounding rooms or the corridor can still be heard.
I would like to apologize if any noise was caused during our stay, as we were traveling with a young child.

Great for a budget work-study day, but hygiene needs a serious upgrade
I checked into The Pod Boutique on a Thursday afternoon (3:30 PM) specifically to test out their ”business-friendly” reputation. While it serves as a decent, affordable alternative to a café for co-working, there are several pros and cons to consider before booking
The Work Experience (Co-working & Amenities)
The hostel offers a dedicated co-working space and private office booths
The Good: Plenty of power sockets under the tables, a water cooler, and free-flow coffee/tea. There’s a communal fridge and microwave (label your food!) if you want to bring your own snacks
The Not-so-Good: The co-working area has no air-conditioning. There are no non-caffeinated options (like Milo or Hot Chocolate) and no snacks provided.
The Office Booths: These are a bit dim and not soundproof, so they aren’t ideal for confidential or high-stakes calls.
The Bunk & Stay (Mixed Dorm)
As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. There are cameras throughout the property, and the interior of the bunk itself was clean, comfortable, and smelled nice.
Inside the Pod: You get one power socket, a towel rack, a hook, and a small shelf
Privacy & Noise: The blind is quite translucent, offering little privacy. It isn’t soundproof, so expect noise during the early morning and late-night ”rush hours.”
The Catch: There is no mini-table inside the pod, so you can't work from your bed; it's strictly for resting
The Downsides
Cleanliness: This was the biggest issue. The toilet hallways are very dirty, yet guests are required to remove shoes before entering. Walking barefoot there was quite unpleasant
Facilities: There is only one lift (the stairs are faster/more reliable). The pantry is bare-bones (just sugar and stirrers), they charge for cutlery, and no breakfast is provided
Value: Honestly, this feels like a ”slightly nice” hostel rather than a ”Boutique” experience. I wouldn’t pay the standard $42–$50 rate for this quality. However, at the $22 discounted rate I got through Trip.com, it’s a fair trade-off for a quiet place to study
Summary: If you need a cheap place to crash and do some light laptop work, it’s okay—just bring your own slippers for the bathroom and don't expect a premium ”boutique” feel

We recently stayed at Kam Leng Hotel for 2 days, and overall it was a decent experience for the price.
From Changi Airport to the hotel, it took almost an hour via MRT, which was manageable. Upon arrival, the hotel staff at the lobby were very approachable, friendly, and professional. Check in was smooth as we simply presented our booking confirmation.
However, we were a bit disappointed with the room. The listing on Trip.com showed a room with windows, but the room we received did not have one. The only window was in the bathroom, and the view was just an emergency exit ladder.
On the positive side, the room itself was clean and smelled fresh. The bed was comfortable and well-maintained. Amenities included a kettle, coffee mugs, and complimentary bottled water for two. The Android TV was a nice bonus for entertainment, and the lighting was adequate, with a dim option suitable for sleeping. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room whenever we were out.
One issue we encountered was a power outage that lasted around 15 minutes when we returned to the room, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, it was resolved shortly.
The bathroom was clean and well kept, with a reliable hot water supply.
Despite a few drawbacks, for its affordable price, I would still recommend this hotel. It is also conveniently located just a short walk from nearby parks and leisure attractions in Singapore.

Newly renovated with nice and clean room, but the wall is so thin that you can hear other people chatting and water running sounds when they are showering. It would be nice if the bathroom has separate dry/wet area, and hope they have some shower curtains because it’s quite awkward to shower with just ground glass windows. Near MRT Farrer Park station, you can access MRT by going through the mall across the hotel. Very close to Mustafa shopping center, City Square Mall, and Hawker center just 5 minutes walk. Friendly and helpful receptionist.

The location is convenient, less than a 10-minute walk from the subway station. There's also a supermarket nearby, which is very handy. The interior is clean, though the space is on the smaller side. It's fine for a solo traveler, but might be uncomfortable for two people. They provide a water dispenser for drinking water. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Great
GGuest UserThe Shangri-La Singapore boasts an excellent location, offering a serene and elegant environment with beautiful garden views. The check-in experience is relaxing and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, with a full range of toiletries provided. The overall service is attentive and thoughtful, with warm and polite staff. The breakfast selection is extensive. The only minor drawback is that some facilities are slightly older, but they are well-maintained and clean, which doesn't affect the stay at all. Overall, it offers good value for money, making it a great choice for a trip.
AAluodunyingfusuSummary: The room was spacious, as was the bathroom, wardrobe, and windows. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, with two malls downstairs (Ya Kun and others are practically on your doorstep) and bars. The subway station is also very close.
There's a capsule coffee machine and TWG tea bags.
The overall feel is quite classic, but it's a bit dated in places, like the hairdryer. It's one of those old-fashioned, long-bodied ones that makes your arm ache to use – I haven't seen one like that in years.
The toilet is also quite old. But that doesn't mean it doesn't work well.
Also, the hotel completely ignored my request for a high-floor room 😥😥😥
The service was very good. It happened to be Easter during Qingming Festival, and they even gave me a chocolate egg – a huge one! The flavor was really rich and pure; I even brought it back home with me.
It only takes 20 minutes to walk to Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park.
Just as other reviewers said, it's a great value-for-money choice for travel.
🤦♀️ Sorry, I didn't take any photos of the hotel, only one of the Easter chocolate egg. The other two pictures are of nearby malls: one is called Millenia Walk, and the other is Suntec City.
GGuest UserI stayed at Lyf Funan Singapore for 2nights as a business traveller.
The design is fun and colorful, not your typical hotel vibe. The room is compact but works fine, with a private bathroom, and the sink is outside the bathroom which is actually quite convenient. I stayed in a standard room—it’s okay for couples or friends.
The hotel has more of a co-living feel. There’s a shared kitchen, dining area, and even a small workout corner, so it feels more social than a normal hotel.
Breakfast was a bitsimple with limited options, just a few simple dishes and some bakery items. I’d recommend skipping it and eating outside instead.
Location is definitely a big plus. It’s inside Funan Mall, super convenient for shopping and food. You can also easily walk to places like Fort Canning Park (right across the road), Clarke Quay, and Merlion Park.
Overall, nice stay if you like modern design and a lively vibe—just don’t expect too much from the breakfast.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, with a shopping mall right downstairs and Lau Pa Sat nearby, making dining very convenient. The decor is modern, and there's even a small kitchenette. The best part is being able to go up to the 51st floor for amazing views of Singapore.
--chenchen-The hotel is quite new overall, and the location is super convenient. I only stayed one night for a city layover, so here are the pros and cons:
**Pros:**
1. It's very easy to get to all the attractions, many are within walking distance. It's also close to the City Hall MRT station, and popular internet-famous restaurants and coconut milk tea shops are nearby.
2. We checked in with our child, and the staff immediately gave us a little snack bag for the kids. While it's not a family-themed hotel, it made a better impression than some dedicated family hotels.
**Minor Cons (not dealbreakers):**
1. We were given an adjoining room, which made me feel quite insecure. I actually moved the coffee table to block the door before I could sleep.
2. The toilet paper in the bathroom was very sparse! And the toilet flush button was incredibly, incredibly hard to press – you needed a lot of force. We initially thought it was broken.
3. We'd just spent three nights in Sentosa where the minibar was fully stocked and complimentary every day. In contrast, this hotel, at a similar price point, had an empty fridge, which was a bit of a shock. It really hit home that 'it's hard to go from luxury to frugality.'
4. Perhaps it's because efficiency is so high back home, but checking into hotels in Singapore feels incredibly slow. My child kept asking when we would finally be done.
**Overall:** I'd still recommend this hotel for business travelers and tourists.
GGuest UserSurprised about hotel room upgrade from queen size bed to king size bed! Room was spacious enough to put several large luggages together on the floor. The amazing location juz opposite Takashimaya and Paragon and mosque@Orchard Road. The hotel staffs were all very friendly and approachable. Asian buffet style breakfast@Eden restaurant - normally can only find plain porridge but here surprisingly we found delicious fish porridge with no fishy smell! Thank you, Pullman hotel for excellent services.
SSheilaOSheilaRelaxing and thoroughly enjoyable.
Really good rooms with luscious pillows. The tub was heavenly. The pool was packed with kids but enjoyed my time there to sleep, think and do almost nothing. 3 nights.
My only 2 gripes : no smoking room that's enjoyable to be in, and that their coffee is average.
I'll definitely give this a 5 star rating for peace, comfort and joy at a decent price.
GGuest UserOriginally booked this hotel for shits and giggles coz of Anthropic Claude. This place is obsessively clean. I’m talking about the kind of clean that makes you suspicious — like maybe they have a team that just polishes doorknobs all day. Everything is spotless. Even the complimentary laundry room (which, yes, is FREE with detergent pods included) looks surgical. Zero lint. No detergent residue. No mysterious washing machine funk. Just pure, sparkling cleanliness. For someone as particular as me about hygiene, this was an unexpected jackpot. If I could give it 6 stars I would.
Location is solid: walking distance to Chinatown, Maxwell Hawker Centre, Keong Saik Road’s fancy food scene, and two MRT stations (Chinatown and Maxwell). The outdoor courtyard smells like fresh lemon balm disinfectant, which is oddly specific but very reassuring. There’s also a complimentary minibar, which feels generous for a compact room.
The double bed room I booked was small but accurately described during booking, so no gotcha moments. If you’re short like me, the bed’s perfectly comfortable. They’ve maximized storage cleverly: luggage space, safety box, mini fridge under the bed. The courtyard becomes your unofficial living room since the actual room is just… bed.
The Meh
The rain shower is a mystery. I still don’t know how to use it without turning the bathroom into a wading pool. The handheld showerhead has weak water pressure, though the bathroom itself is otherwise excellent. So clean!!! You can feel the MRT rumbling underneath (acceptable noise level), but the real problem is Leila, the bar downstairs. If you’re into nightlife, great! If you’re trying to sleep on the second floor, less great. I could hear thumping bar music until late. Front desk was gracious and delivered earplugs promptly when I asked, so points for responsiveness.
Walking around during rainy season would be a drag.
The Verdict
Would stay again for overnight layover purely for the cleanliness. Thanks for the random pick, Claude (both the AI and the hotel). 🧼✨🤖
GGuest UserThe staff are very kind and polite. Its my second time. The place is conducive and great for spending quality time with family. The shops and restaurants are just a few minutes away. However the inside of the bus can be more cleaner,it was visibly very dusty and the pillowcase edge was tattered. My child was had many swelled up mosquito bites all over.Overall it was still a good experience because the staff made us feel welcomed.
AAnonymous UserUgh, I forgot to take photos, so I'll use some random ones instead. First off, I chose this place because it's super close to Universal Studios, and I figured a chain hotel wouldn't be too bad. But the price wasn't exactly cheap – I paid over 480 for a queen room. I know hotels in Singapore are pricey, so this was within my expected budget; I'd already come to terms with the cost. The front desk staff were all really nice. However, my heart sank when I opened the door. The room was tiny, and they don't provide slippers, toothbrushes, or cups, citing environmental reasons... though if you ask the front desk for a toothbrush, they'll give you one. For cleanliness, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 – not terrible, but not outstanding either. It's a small room but has all the essentials, though you definitely can't fit two suitcases in there; it felt really cramped. On the bright side, the soundproofing seemed pretty good. I'm not sure if there were no other guests or if everyone was just incredibly considerate, but I didn't hear any noise. Plus, I was so exhausted from sleeping at the airport the night before that I slept like a log. It was the best night's sleep of my entire trip, and I was genuinely shocked that I slept best in the smallest room... Oh, and the shower gel and shampoo are all-in-one, so if you're particular, you might want to bring your own.
