The house is being renovated, so for the weekend, I decided to stay overnight as a local resident of Shanghai. During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. Last night, I took a stroll around the area and stood at the North Bund City Terrace. Seeing Shanghai and Pudong's Oriental Pearl Tower from this vantage point was truly breathtaking.

Checking in and out was easy, stress free and straight forward. Even though the staff don’t speak a lot of English, it was easy to ask questions during the process as they used a translating app. The staff were very kind, greeting everyone as they came in and out of the hotel. The breakfast options were good! You can get a set menu along with the buffet. Kitchen staff were very attentive and sweet. Across the street from the hotel is Raffles City, making the hotel location amazing! If I was too tired one day to go out for dinner, it was simple, just going across the road. Additionally, the room was clean and tidy as they had daily room cleaning where they give you bottles of water too! The elevator requires a hotel room key card to access the upper floors which makes you feel a lot more safe and secure. The laundry room was easy to use with 3 washers and dryers. They also included an iron in there too for easy access.

The hotel is in a very convenient position and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is a bit small but clean. The room smells when we checked in but the smell disappeared after opening the window to let the fresh air come in. The toilet and bathroom are exactly next to each other and it smells a bit moody. I lost one of the room access card and the staff said that’s ok. They also provided lots of bottled drinking water every day. Generally speaking, it’s a good experience.

The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice; she helped upgrade my room and even sent welcome fruits – so touching! The hotel staff's service is truly impeccable. Whether it was helping with luggage or providing travel advice, they answered patiently and warmly, just like family! I even received a hot late-night snack when I arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night. This kind of thoughtful service is truly rare. Thumbs up!

This was my first stay at the W Hotel, and in my opinion, the night view from W Shanghai – The Bund is unparalleled – truly the best you can get for a view of the Bund, bar none. The rooms here boast a unique, massive curved floor-to-ceiling window. The trendy, nightclub-like vibe is also signature to the W, making it feel much younger and more vibrant compared to other hotels, definitely appealing more to a younger crowd. The hotel features three distinct bars, and I highly recommend the breakfast – it's genuinely excellent, with a wide variety of cuisines available. I booked a Wonderful King Room, and rooms ending in '10' generally offer the most prime views. Plus, I received a 500 RMB voucher for the YEN Chinese Restaurant and another 500 RMB voucher for the spa. They even offered a late checkout until 2 PM, which made it an incredibly good deal. The W Hotel has certainly won over many young people with its prime scenic views and fashionable decor!

Booked this hotel for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. 1. **Bedding Surprise**: The moment we opened the door, 'Happy Birthday' written in green leaves🍃 was spread all over the bed! 🥰 2. **Thoughtful Touches**: A small chocolate cake was prepared in advance, and it was absolutely delicious! 🥰 Even more amazing was the 'indoor swimming pool' – with heated, circulating water! Two essential oil diffusers were running indoors, filling the whole room with a subtle cedarwood scent. At night, the Oriental Pearl Tower sparkled right outside the window, and soaking in the water while watching the tower lights change colors was incredibly refreshing! Also, a special shout-out to Vicky; she even messaged us after check-out to ask about our experience! 🥰

This is my 2nd time staying here, because I was very impressed with the location and the facilities. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Shanghai is my hometown, so I know my way around, to an extent, as I no longer live there. But for someone who is new to Shanghai, it’s still easy to navigate from the hotel to anywhere they may wish to go with 2 subway lines and countless buses at the hotel’s doorstep. It’s good value for money and definitely recommended. If you are a foodie who is into local cuisine and there are plenty to choose from too. For as little as 8RMB, you can have a typical Shanghai breakfast in one of the lane ways nearby.

The facilities need some maintenance. I saw a robot in the elevator opening and closing the door several times without leaving or entering.
