Guest UserMy companions and I were all extremely satisfied with this stay. The 'posu bao' (flaky pastry bun) was a particular highlight, everyone raved about it! My colleague kept saying you provide 'angelic service.' I love every staff member here; they are attentive and thoughtful, and you can truly feel the genuine kindness radiating from them. Just now, the cleaning lady passed by and gave me an angelic smile, even though she could have easily ignored me while I was engrossed in my computer.
This 'hidden gem in the city' that you meticulously maintain allowed us to feel incredibly relaxed. Whether it was the private hot spring, the calligraphy practice, or simply reading in the tearoom with the cat while listening to the rain, it all brought immense relaxation to our minds and bodies.
Thank you for taking care of us these past few days. It was a truly wonderful experience, and we'll definitely be back!
Service: 100%! Familial service; the staff here truly see every individual guest.

Guest UserI've stayed in countless high-end hotels, but this one truly puts customer needs first. First off, the design is incredibly stylish and elegant, but given the price point, that's almost expected. As an executive room guest, what I loved most was the service at the hotel's executive lounge. The food offerings were a huge help for families with children, allowing them to grab a bite. And the food wasn't just an afterthought – the hot dishes changed daily. Kudos to the F&B director! Breakfast was also incredibly rich, and the chicken soup with rice noodles was absolutely divine. I noticed the executive chef was constantly working, so a big thumbs up to them as well. My only minor suggestion would be to offer some less oily options in the hot dish section next to the fried eggs. All in all, the food and beverage service was excellent. Housekeeping was very clean; a shout-out to the lady who even folded my pajamas. Any minor issues were quickly addressed by the duty manager, and Emily wished me well when I checked out. The overall service was seamless, which shows the hotel's training is top-notch. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back!

Tedi WareSome aspects of my stay were excellent but a few things were terrible. I will mention the good things first. The room was large, beautiful and gave a beautiful view of the sunset. The bathroom was superb indeed and the bathroom amenities were superior as was the shower, toilet and everything associated with the bathroom. The problems were as follow: There was no dining facilities in the hotel to eat dinner and I was very hungry after traveling 12 hours by train from Shanghai. I had to walk very far to get to the area that has restaurants and food kiosks. When I returned to the hotel with some food that needed refrigeration, I discovered the refrigerator in my room was not working. I called for service and the worker who came to check said the refrigerator was broken and could not be replaced. this was a big problem since I needed to refrigerate the only food I had purchased. Finally, another staff came to my room and discovered the refrigerator was in fact , not broken. It was not plugged in properly so that problem was finally resolved after a very long time. The worst thing was the bed. It was so hard, it was painful to lay down on it and impossible to sleep on it. I called the desk for help and they told me that they did not have a softer mattress to give me. The mattress was as hard as concrete and I was desperate to sleep. A staff member came up with a suitable solution. She brought several duvets and covered the hard mattress with them--placing them one on top of another until I was finally able to lay down on the bed without experiencing pain. It was very late in the middle of the night before I was finally able to lay down on the bed and go to sleep.
In summary, the room itself was excellent and the bathroom was superior. Unfortunately, the mattress was entirely unacceptable and impossible to sleep upon. It was also very disappointing that the worker did not know how to. get the refrigerator to work properly but his superior knew immediately what the problem was. Much time was wasted until she resolved the problem. The worker should have been more knowledgeable and competent.

ZiyoucaomeitaoziheyingtaoFirstly, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to MixC shopping mall. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and shops on Minhang Road and Chajie, and the surrounding streets are bustling. It's also quite close to Cuihu Lake.
Secondly, the hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of choices.
Thirdly, despite being street-facing, our room was relatively quiet. The housekeeper on the twelfth floor was very thorough, meticulous, and efficient.
However, the female front desk staff were incredibly inefficient. Check-in was very slow, and they lacked any customer service awareness, acting as if they didn't even see guests. Even when guests greeted them, saying ”hello,” the staff wouldn't respond, just staring blankly like robots. What was most incomprehensible was their rude demeanor. When I inquired about room availability and prices, the female staff member was extremely cold and spoke with obvious impatience. She simply stated that it was peak season and the listed price was high, giving off a ”take it or leave it” vibe when addressing guests who booked through Ctrip. She made no effort to patiently explain or offer any alternative options. This lack of service awareness and stiff communication significantly lowered the overall stay experience and negatively impacted the hotel's brand image (as the front desk is the hotel's face). It's clear that the front desk staff lack consistent service standards, maintaining a cold attitude throughout. It's unclear if they've received proper training. I initially had a good impression of the hotel otherwise and planned to stay for four nights, but encountering a hotel front desk that treats guests so poorly made me want to leave as soon as possible to avoid further frustration. Kunming is a city known for its spring-like weather and warm people, and I was disappointed to have that positive impression tarnished by this hotel. I hope the platform will inform the hotel to strengthen the most basic ”communication,” ”etiquette,” and ”facial expression management” training for its female front desk staff.

DaixiaozhuThe healing journey begins at the hotel and culminates in the gentle kindness brought by Heidi. Heidi, the duty manager, was exceptionally thoughtful. She proactively helped coordinate a room upgrade, and upon learning about my travel needs, she offered an additional breakfast and executive lounge access. She arranged a smoke-free, high-floor room overlooking Dianchi Lake for a better view, and her meticulous arrangements truly eased my travel fatigue.
Heidi's demeanor was gentle and graceful, and she handled matters with patience and professionalism. Every request was addressed thoroughly; her professionalism and sincerity shone through in every small detail. As a Sofitel in Kunming, the hotel perfectly blends French elegance with local Yunnan charm. The lobby features Yunnan-specific floral art and ethnic soft furnishings, creating a unique romantic and luxurious design. The guest rooms offer a comfortable and relaxing stay, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the lake and mountains of Dianchi. The executive lounge boasts excellent views, and the snacks and drinks are exquisite and high-quality. Breakfast combines French pastries with authentic Yunnan rice noodles and flower cakes, offering a wide variety and delicious flavors. Both the hardware and service are truly worth savoring.
Walking around the hotel, one can glimpse the brand's unique French romance everywhere, complemented by the spiritual lake views unique to the 'Spring City.' Both the facilities and services exude style and warmth. Whether gazing at the misty Dianchi Lake from the window or enjoying a drink in the executive lounge, you can feel Sofitel's exclusive aesthetic of sophisticated travel. Heidi's meticulous and thoughtful service perfectly balanced the rush of travel, adding a human touch to a luxurious stay.
The entire stay was leisurely and pleasant, precisely because of Heidi's attentive and personalized care, which made this stay full of surprises and warmth. When I return to this area in the future, this hotel will still be my first choice, and I once again express my gratitude to the gentle and dedicated Heidi.

Lijuan ♪(^∇^*) This is my third visit this year, and I absolutely love this hotel, even though it's only 30 kilometers from my home. My favorite part is the large balcony, which offers a delightful view of the lake and lush green mountains, with high skies and drifting clouds – it's incredibly peaceful. The evenings are very quiet. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic.

Guest UserI stayed for three nights, and overall, my experience was very satisfying. This hotel left the deepest impression on me during my trip to Yunnan. The private courtyard and hot spring gave it a real resort feel, and the quiet environment was perfect for relaxation. The breakfast quality was excellent; in addition to the usual offerings, there were freshly cooked items like pan-fried steak and fresh shrimp, which I looked forward to every morning.
The service was an even bigger bonus. Our butler drove us to the mountaintop restaurant for breakfast, and any requests we had during our stay were promptly met. The whole process felt very comfortable—not overly intrusive, but help was always available immediately when needed. When we checked out, they even thoughtfully gave us some tea as a souvenir, which was a lovely touch.
If you're looking for a hotel genuinely suited for a vacation and unwinding, I think it's definitely worth experiencing. I'll certainly come back if I have the chance.

I came to Gudian to relax, and the hotel grounds are vast with a strong garden feel. Walking around and enjoying the breeze is very stress-relieving. The room was generally clean, and the bathroom facilities were well-maintained. The mattress was just the right firmness for sleeping. There were a lot of guests during the holiday, but the staff were all very polite and helpful with any issues (Clove, I assume is a name or a specific inquiry type, so I'll keep it as is). The breakfast buffet was good, offering local snacks, though I hope they could rotate the variety every couple of days. It's close to various attractions around Dianchi Lake and not far from Fuxian Lake. Overall, it's a great resort hotel, perfect for family or friends on a short trip.

Guest UserTo start with: it's been a long time since I've had such a satisfying experience.
**Facilities**: This is a hot spring resort that's well-maintained despite its age. Villa 10 is perfectly situated, and the facilities are in excellent condition – not a single sliding door was out of order or stuck, which is quite impressive. However, it would be even better if the front door locks were upgraded.
**Cleanliness**: Very clean, very satisfied.
**Environment**: I walked all around the resort grounds; the scenery is beautiful. Beyond the expansive lake views, there's also a hidden gem of a pond with bald cypress trees.
**Service**: Absolutely more than five points, more than five stars – truly perfect. The golf carts were available on call, and the turndown service was meticulous. A special thanks to Ms. Yang at the front desk for helping to coordinate our departure transfer, adding another wonderful touch to our trip.
**Afternoon Tea Experience**: The taste was exquisite; I even worried I might never find such delicious pastries elsewhere again.
**Airport Transfer Service**: The transfer car was good, and the driver was skilled and provided thoughtful service.
**Outdoor Garden Hot Spring Experience**: The hot springs were great. The bathing area even thoughtfully provided a stool for seniors, though the lighting in the changing area was really too dim to see the locker numbers.
**Food**: The food was also good. I really liked the mushroom and radish dish at dinner, and the roasted duck was unique. The breakfast rice noodles were outstanding! And the gulls loved the birdseed provided for them too.

RyanMoriartyFive stars, highly recommended! This is an old, established state guesthouse in Kunming that you absolutely must stay at. Its heritage, views, and service are all top-notch.
The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel.
The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel.
Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere.
The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch.
Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation.
Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. Its century-old refined quality is irreplaceable. I will definitely choose Cuihu Hotel again on my next visit to Kunming!
