We loved our stay at this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and found the staff to be lovely (all spoke english), very helpful with navigating this amazing yet busy city. The rooms were very funky, although one of the double rooms somewhat on the smaller side as pictured but there was enough space for suitcases etc. The rooftop offered beautiful views. The hotel was close to supermarkets as well as skytree (worthwhile visiting and paying to go to the top for beautiful views over tokyo at night). It was in walking distance to Skytree train station with easy access to all of the major train lines. We tried the breakfast on a few occasions which wasn't cheap however offered a range of japanese and continental options. We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone travelling to Japan!

I did not get to stay in this hotel. Upon arrival, I was told that my booking did not show in the Hotel’s system, because they were not informed by trip.com of my booking. Unfortunately, they were also fully booked. It was such a stressful experience. The Tora Hotel staff were very helpful. They were really trying to help. I couldn’t say the same for trip.com costumer’s service. Their Japanese team were informed of the mishap by Tora hotel, and the ones they talked to told them they would give me a call to sort things out. They never did. I was only able to reach them through chat. Not only were their contact hotlines unreachable, but when I begged them to call me while chatting with them, they told me that all the number i gave them were unreachable (my roaming number, my companion’s roaming number, the tora hotel’s staff number), which was a bit odd because they were able to contact me twice days before the trip for my early check-in request. They dangled me for 2 hours, telling me they are trying to look for a hotel for me, but they were not able to do so. I ended up asking me to book my own hotel, and offering a refund and reimbursement for the price difference at least. IT WAS SO STRESSFUL. It was my last day in Tokyo and lost more than 2 hours of my planned day. It was their fault and I ended up fixing their own mistake. They did give me 6000 pesos worth of trip coins, but I don’t think I will ever ever use then because I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH TRIP.COM after this awful experience.

The prostyle ryokan is located just outside Of the heart of Asakusa on a busy road. The noise of the road cannot be heard at all inside the ryokan. It’s a short walk to the center of Asakusa and the temple. There are many great restaurants nearby. The hotel has a shabu shabu restaurant. The ryokan is clean, people at the reception are very helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious by Tokyo standards and the beds quite comfortable. We had a room with a private shower and a separate bath tub outside, very nice to soak in the early morning (when it’s not to hot yet). There was also a balcony with chairs and a table —but temperatures didn’t allow us to use it. The room is wel appointed and has everything you need. It has a clean but traditional Japanese atmosphere. The Japanese breakfast is fantastic and highly recommended, wel worth the money.

I am not satisfied with the hygiene and environment of this hotel. The environment of the room is dark and there is a lot of dust in the air. I think the hotel should pay more attention to hygiene and environment to provide a better stay experience. Also, the hotel facilities are not enough. There were originally three washing machines in the public space, but one of them was broken, and only one was left usable. Let’s talk about it first…. The hotel just opened last year and the facilities are very new and clean. The location is very good, very close to Kaminariji Temple, and there are many restaurants nearby. The transportation is convenient, and there are less people at night. If you like a quieter night, it is very suitable. Moreover, I personally think the hotel mattresses are more comfortable than those in other hotels! but, If you want to book a large bed, you really need to look carefully. We, two adults, booked a double bed room. We didn't look carefully when booking, thinking it was a room with two mattresses (you can check the pictures on the official website). Two days before my departure to Japan, I took a closer look and found out that the bed in the room was a bunk bed with two floors. There was no mattress on the upper floor, but a wooden board (the concept of letting guests sit on the upper floor?). I tried to contact trip.con customer service, but the result was There was no room available for me to change, so I was asked to contact the Japanese hotel myself. In the end, the Japanese hotel had no way to help me change the room because I checked in automatically. We stayed for 4 nights and never went up there. We could only use it to store some clothes and coats. As for getting out of bed on one side (!), getting in and out of the bed is a bit troublesome. Moreover, because it is a bunk bed, basically half of the scenery outside the window is blocked, which feels a bit wasteful, because the scenery outside the window can see the temple, which is a very good scenery! Summarize, The above mistakes were caused by individuals not paying attention and have nothing to do with the hotel. I write such a long article just to share with other travelers coming to Tokyo that they should pay attention when booking this hotel. Because when traveling to Tokyo, everyone must be tired from shopping/shopping every day and go back to the hotel. If you go back to a comfortable hotel, you will be in a better mood! This time I stayed at the Lotte Residences Asakusa in Tokyo. I loved it because of the panda room (hahaha). What shocked me was that when I got up on the first morning, I found that there was a temple in my room (right next to it?) , there are actually (one after another tombstones) inside. Although I said ”I'm not afraid! It's a lie”, it was still a quite interesting experience! Because in Taiwan, there is no such custom of ”getting along day and night” with the tombstones~

Situated at a very convenient location (near Ueno station). Room is also spacious for Japan’s standard and clean. Check in and check out process was very fast as it is conducted via the use of machines. We were very lucky to be able to immediately checked into our room prior to the usual check in time as the room was ready. We were very glad about it! Service was quick as well when we requested for additional pillows. The pillows and bed were very comfortable! Will definitely return!

I booked 10 nights at Playsis. This multi-gender hostel is located near Sumida Bridge and River, in a really quiet neighborhood but with all the necessary services ( konbini, atm, and so on ). Only 7/8 by feet from Asakusa Station for Ginza and Asakusa Line. 10/12 mins by feet from the incredible vivid Senso-ji temple area. There's a smoking area in the front access, than an area with all the furniture like water boiler, basin, a table, an isle for eating, a comfy sofa and an automatic drink machine. 3 floors of bedrooms ( 2 multi-gender and 1 only female) plus a floor with a Japanese style suite and at the top, a really good open place for a 360 degrees view with the SkyTree. My big room was supposed for 30 people but in late January there aren't that much. Really clean bed, moquette, bathroom, shower and a bath too. Quiet in the night. Requires (as always in Japan) to release your shoes when coming in. The staff is all youngster and multilingual. They're friendly and open with every necessity. Highly recommended!!! Arigatou...
