Shaanxi Foping National Nature Reserve is located on the south slope of the middle section of Qinling Mountain, 158 kilometers to the south from Hanzhong City and 215 kilometers to Xi'an City to the north. It is a nature reserve of forest and wildlife type mainly protected by giant pandas, with a total area of 28,586 hectares. The protected area is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an altitude of 980 － 2904 meters. There are 1,580 kinds of high-level plants and 265 kinds of wildlife in the area.
