The Vienna Museum of Natural History is located next to the Ring Avenue on the southwest side of the Hofburg Palace. It is a twin building opposite the Museum of Art History, located on both sides of Maria Teresa Square, which looks exactly the same. The Vienna Museum of Natural History is one of the ten museums of the world's natural history. The collection was started by Emperor Franz I, Queen Maria Teresa's husband, who is famous for collecting prehistoric specimens of flora and fauna and relics unearthed during the Harsta culture period, the statue of Venus 25,000 years ago, and Maria Teresa's gem bouquet.
