It was a difficult journey to find it and buried in the mountains. When I came to Pingtang, Guizhou, I just wanted to see the 500-meter-caliber spherical radio telescope known as China's Tianyan. China's Tianyan, also known as FAST, was proposed by China's astronomer Nan Rendong in 1994, and it took 22 years to build. It is the largest single-calibre radio telescope in the world with independent intellectual property rights in China. The comprehensive performance is ten times that of the famous radio telescope Arecibo. Visiting Tianyan, you can't carry any electronic equipment, including mobile phones, cameras, computers, cameras, lithium batteries, even a button battery is not good, security is very strict, before taking the shuttle bus, you can store these things in the storage cabinet. The sky-eye observation deck has to pass more than 700 steps. If there are elderly people, it is best to choose to add 20 yuan to take the shuttle bus up the mountain, so that you only need to climb 150 steps, which can save a lot of effort. The Tianyan Observation Deck has a photo service, 25 yuan a piece, we chose the email version, so the photographer took another one for us, it is more cost-effective, the photo was received the next day, with the memorial of Tianyan, I feel very worthwhile. Standing on the observation deck next to FAST, I can't help but sigh loudly, it's amazing, my country! You can see that the spherical telescope has 4,600 reflective units, and there are actuators below these reflective surfaces, which can change the angle of the entire telescope. Since its inauguration on September 25, 2016, China Tianyan has found 51 pulsars, 11 of which have been confirmed as new pulsars. FAST will also start searching for aliens in the future! Let us pay tribute to the three generations of Tianyan engineers who have been working for more than 20 years and to the researchers on the front line! After leaving the observation deck, I visited the Tianxiang Museum. The exhibition hall introduced the structure and operation of the Tianyan in detail, and there are some astronomical knowledge, such as black holes, pulsars, etc., and I can also bring my headphones to hear the sound of the pulsar. It is very interesting. Personally feel that the sky theater, the image played on the ball screen is not very clear, the seat is also uncomfortable, you have to lean up your neck to see the image.
